Unabomber Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 Great result, but Watford had chances too. I maintain that NP is a run if 3-4, losses away from being replaced. The deadman walking is doing well so far, but a run of loses will have the Gallows a creaking. Till then I will enjoy our good run Seriously what the hell is wrong with you?
Steveiefox Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 What a stupid post from cuddly ken, what a prat !!

In all seriousness I can spot trolls a mile away

Till then I will enjoy our good run Yeah but surely if you leave meat to rest for too long, it just goes cold? One thing i've never really mastered is the perfect rice. Tend to air on the side of caution these days and not put as much water in. Better to be under than over. Also adding a scotch bonnet pepper to the top really gives it a good flavour. Accompany with a lovely merlot and you're laughing really.
inckley fox Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 I never made my mind up on the matter personally, but had we failed to beat Forest and sneak into the play-offs last season, there would have been a strong argument for firing Pearson with two provisos - firstly that there was money available, secondly that O'Neill (or someone equally unlikely) was interested in the job. It seems that neither of those applied, but some of the 'moaners' on here weren't to know that. In the event, we beat Forest and very nearly won the semi. And our start to the season has been remarkable. But it's worth remembering that Pearson still hasn't achieved the single objective he returned for. Whether or not he's the right man for the job will depend on his success this season. Either way, though, two things are for sure: (1) That over the course of his two tenures he has been an extremely positive influence on the club where others have been the opposite; (2) that at THIS moment in time, he is clearly the only man for the job. And, all said, it's going very well.

The deadman walking is doing well so far, but a run of loses will have the Gallows a creaking. Till then I will enjoy our good run If this is true then it is also true for Redknapp, Adkins, Coyle, Davies and Zola among others. O'Neill always said that he was only half a dozen games from the sack at any given moment. By your definition he, therefore, spent nearly 5 seasons as a 'dead man walking'. And they worked out fairly decently.
Corky Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 Can we please just enjoy winning and playing well without these "I told you so" comments? It's not needed, they have their opinions and although I don't always agree with them it's up to them if they want to start threads complaining and calling for sackings. Just enjoy your day and praise the manager without the digs.
Thracian Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 Tactically inept, they said! Clueless, they said! Nigel Pearson out, they said! Where be you doubting Thomas's now? And so he was on many occasions in the past. This season he seems to have done much better not just today but in other matches and particularly when he was forced to sit in the stand. What's the problem? Striker's attract criticism when they don't score for weeks, England goalkeeper's get dropped when they get clumsy and managers are no different. They get praised when things go well and criticised when they don't, much like people in every form of employment.
MattyFromLE Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 Seriously do we really have to do this everytime we're on a good run? Because, in my opinion, Nigel Pearson has been the most promising manager for us since the MoN years. The work ethic, the clever signings are all characteristics that we would associate with the most successful period in our history. It isn't coincidental that the good form we showed last season is here again - continuity is key, and Pearson should be recognised for his excellent work over the summer. The difference for me, is that everyone wants to play for him - and Leicester City.

Happy Fox Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 i think NP is right in saying it is not the time to discuss contracts etc the whole team should be focused on getting promotion automatically and to be fair we are doing that so far.
cuddly ken Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 Our best start ever... and this guff still gets piped up. How do you expect anyone to take you seriously? Although perhaps that is actually the aim. It's just my opinion, not a wind up, thought forums were about opinions? I hope I'm proved wrong!
Bettsj2 Posted 2 November 2013 Posted 2 November 2013 It's just my opinion, not a wind up, thought forums were about opinions? I hope I'm proved wrong! Often when the hollandaise sauce for an eggs benedict is too yellow, its pointless pursuing. Best thing is just to stop and start again. There's no shame in going back to achieve the perfect sauce as often they are as important as the key ingredient. For instance, a good 3 egg omellate is good but add cheese and you're in a whole different world. Go one further with some cracked black pepper and you could be going platinum. Underestimate an accompanyment at your peril!!
seenitall Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Still here, get banned a lot these days, great performance yesterday. It is always hard to eat humble pie and after 80 odd games back in charge I finally felt like Niges team looked the part for possibly the first time since he returned...mind I don't see so many games since Thai tv lost interest. Let's get promoted so I can be a real fan again and watch the games, reading the biased boolocks on here and the Mercury reports is no substitute for watching games. Must be satisfying after having to apologise for so much shite in the last 2years to be right for once, well done to the faithful, us non believers are no doubt amazed

foxfanazer Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Pearson seems to me to be the sort of bloke that if he feels valued and supported at a club he would want to stay. If he has 3 months running on his contract here and someone else comes knocking offering him a 3 year contract he will have to seriously consider it. I'd like us to see where we are at Christmas/late january and then make our intentions on Nige's contract clear
Monsell1976 Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Headlines in the mercury with Pearson States the Watford win was for the fans, is exactly the sort of think that is getting me to take to the bloke this season. Yes the results are good, but the bloke seems more in touch with us fans, than he ever has, his public persona is more like the Pearson that people discribed away from the public eye. He came across as arrogant and stand offish, since his return, but I'm liking his new approach.
hackneyfox Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Easy to be happy and open to questions when you've just won, whether the NFP of old will suddenly reappear after a bad run remains to be seen. Hopefully any run of poor results will be short lived, I think he's added the experience we lacked last season.
