Cincinnati Fox Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 I believe it's out today? Anything about us in it
Jace Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Yeah just finished reading it we are mentioned in there
johnny the fox Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 http://www.forestforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=38936 he's still longed for in some places.
Jace Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Was reading in the Sir Alex Ferguson book about how he was going to be the replacement for Sir Alex when he was due to retire 10 years ago. Feel bad for him that it didn't work out here very well respected in the football world although as with his own finances sounds like he is not the best with money
Ric Flair Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 What a man, can't wait to read this. My favourite man in football that has ever existed bar Lineker and Collymore.
Mack Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Nice bloke, but in truth no real clue about Championship Football. Sacked too soon but in hindsight looking at what Nigel has built it's turned out just fine. Quite how he got nut deep with Ulrika I have no clue, but all in all the bloke's life has been a shambles when you look back overall. Still, he's ****ing rich!
Dan Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 I'd actually be very interested to see this, may change my view on him. Will take some doing though - he didn't take the Leicester job seriously enough, for me.
Jace Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Personally I think if some of the players had taken being at Leicester as serious as Sven did it would have worked out much better.
Fox92 Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Think I'll pass on this one. He might be a nice bloke, although that doesn't matter when you're a football manager, but he messed our club up. I hope he talks about why he sold Hobbs for such a stupid low price.
Guest MattP Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Just what Sven needs, a few more quid. Spent enough watching a shit side he assembled for months on end, not going pay more to sit through what's probably a book load of fantasy and half truths again. Him being skint makes me chuckle, I don't think I've ever seen a man who has been connected to so many financial disasters and manages to still try and claim not a single bit of it is to do with him.

Surely 'Arry is in that category too?
Guest MattP Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Surely 'Arry is in that category too? Yep, if Sven was English he'd be looked upon the same as Harry.

I'd love to know how he sees it all and I'd love to know what he actually said about the Leicester job. I bet it takes up a tiny part of the book and that for me, as well as the underwhelming results, is why he had to go.
Ric Flair Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 I reckon if I met Sven and he asked me to ramp up as much debt as possible and give him all the proceeds, I bloody would do. He's a salt of the earth.
5waller5 Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 I liked the guy and thought he was about to crack it for us .... just needed the same amount of time as Nigel has been afforded. I'll definitely buy his book - Can't wait to read it.
Corky Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Yep, if Sven was English he'd be looked upon the same as Harry. And yet if Harry had Sven's England record he'd probably be knighted.

I can't remember feeling as deflated as I did after that Millwall game, only October, a fortune spent and lost at home to them, Bristol City and Reading already alongside some pathetic performances away. Within 6 months of him going we had picked up Morgan and Drinkwater and cancelled or loaned out the more shit or expensive ones like Matt Mills, John Pantsil, Moreno, Yuki Abe, Michael Johnson, Michael Ball, Jason Banton and Gelson Fernades. (God what a list of utter overpaid tripe that was) If he had been given the time Nigel had I'm not sure we'd have a football club anymore.
foxfanazer Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Nice guy, average manager. Saying that I thought he did a good job with England. Left us in a mess which we are only just coming close to sorting out. Glad we got rid
KFS Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Complete antithesis of what you need to get out of this league. The football was great to watch at times, but there was barely any fight in the side. The fact that he gave Gally, Wellens and Danns contracts of kings wasn't great either. Still, hindsight is a wonderful thing. It was fun at the time!

I will buy his book, i'm still heartbroken it didnt work out for him here.

I've felt pretty deflated over the years and have been quite a few times under NP .... I find that Millwall game a weird one ... I must have just been in a great mood that day - because i just didn't get what all the fuss was about!!!
Dickov22 Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Why would ANY Leicester fan want to read it? Jesus
Guest MattP Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Its hard to disagree with that but i do, i just love sven. I will buy his book, i'm still heartbroken it didnt work out for him here. You aren't the only one. I neither here or there on the bloke but I find the almost hypnosis like hold he has over people incredible. He's a proven liar, cheat, he's disloyal, he risks clubs futures with no care to try and boost his own profile, popularity among people in the game and bank balance, he takes huge amounts of money from third World nations for projects that last weeks, takes no responsibility for anything bad that ever happens and the jobs he is taking on now in China and Dubai etc are are a sad fact of where he is in modern day football terms. He now has the misfortune of managing a team who are 37 points behind their local rivals in a Chinese town not many people have heard of for 2million a year. I really don't get it at all and never will.
Guest MattP Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Very good read in The Times today for anyone interested, article called "Eriksson loses all dignity after private sale" In 2006 when questioned about his affair with Faria Alam he said "I have no intention of talking about my private life, not today, not ever". Interesting what difference a few years and a few quid makes.
