Sheffield Wednesday 2 1 Leicester City

They're probably doing the sensible thing and looking at how stumbles like this one have been overcome (or not) by this team and manager, not only in this 18-game-long season, but also in the 46-game-long one which preceded it.

No the post I originally responded to suggested that the problem was very much one that already existed this season. That's quite clearly not true isn't it?

Nigel Pearson may have said that this one result wasn't good enough, but I doubt he said that our Away record so far this season isn't good enough, which is the point that I had an issue with.

A draw would of been acceptable and to not achieve that isn't good enough, need to win at Brighton now.

To get some momentum going ahead of the two biggies.

Poor result and felt oddly inevitable. We can't seem to handle the tough teams as well. Big tests over the coming weeks and need to make sure our good foundations don't go to waste.

All the positives mentioned before today have not suddenly disappeared after 1 defeat though.

Seem to hate playing in Yorkshire at the moment. Oh well. When was the last time we won here? Can't remember if Boro counts as Yorkshire..

Reading look like the team we will have to worry about getting into the top 2 with us and QPR now I reckon too.

NFP said he subbed Knocky, he wasn't injured.

They were all poor, I'd have thought he'd been well down the list, for me not one of NFP's better decisions.

Knocky was the one plating well first half. Caused them all sorts of problems. Ridiculous decision to take him off when Dyer was so shite

He actually dives when the ball is virtually past him..The Wednesday player wasn't close enough for him to worry about, not good enough for me.   Good strike for their first goal but still an acute angle to score from.

I understand where you're coming from but I think it looks a lot worse because the guy doesn't jump in with his feet out which is what you expect 99% of the time from that sort of ball. Whether or not he was close enough to get there would be determined by inches. One jump, feet-first, with momentum and you can make up a lot of ground (watch Lloyd's against Fulham - I still expect him not to get there when I watch the replay). I think he is more than close enough for Kasper to consider staying put.

I might be biased as a goalkeeper but I have always been honest with Kasper's mistakes when he has made them. The ball has bounced in the 6 yard box with no Leicester player challenging for it. From that position the ball shouldn't be travelling 3 yards out across the goal - Kasper is forced to wait and wait and gamble on being able to get there once he knows the oncoming player hasn't touched it and he almost manages to get down to it. Very harsh to blame him.

Shit result but we're still top.

Will be a tough game at Brighton but we do have enough in us to take the 3 points, would go with the 3 in midfield as well.

We have bounced back from defeats straight away so I hope we can do the same again on Saturday.

Somewhere in between I thought, I assumed he was referring to the other performances in other defeats as well.

If np subbed knocky for tactical reasons then I despair. He dropped him at the beginning of the season and we lost points because we had no creativity. He took him off against forest and we might as well have stopped playing. He's done it again tonight and YET AGAIN it has failed. When is Pearson going to stop with this relentless failure? The idea of a plan B is that it might work. Your plan B is shit, Nigel. It has proven to be shit time and again. STOP TAKING OFF THE MOST CREATIVE PLAYER ON THE PITCH WHEN WE NEED A GOAL YOU F'ING HALFWIT.

Very odd decision but we've seen them before,

Why put Hammond on, surely he's here to close games down when winning?

Okay, that's fine. So would you agree that this was a shocking result and a half-hearted display which gives us just cause to be concerned?

It was a poor result. It's only a cause for concern when it's happening regularly. It's not happening regularly right now and it hasn't at any point this season.

We should be cautious, but not concerned.

Whilst I agree about Hammond, by the sounds of the missed chances we created enough without Knocky on the pitch to win it. Poor finishing again let us down.

Possibly when we're top of the lea...

Oh, wait.

Snow is right Mark

We know that you never have a bad word to say about Pearson but do try to offer some balance of perspective. This season we've already lost away to Charlton, Donny and Wednesday. Thats not good enough if we are gonna win the league and needs to stop.

Hang on a minute Col, we've won 5 and drawn 1 out of 9 away games. If not for a bizarre last minute penalty at Blackpool, it would have been 6. No-one's saying that losing to Charlton, Doncaster or Sheffield Wednesday is acceptable, but to say that our away form is poor or that we've not improved on it since last season is just wrong.

Once again but apparently we shouldn't worry as Nugent has 10.

I raised this point but the responses were deleted. I wouldn't hold out for a reply, this point was completely ignored earlier on.

Poor, lacklustre, and sheff Wednesday wanted it, and we didn't.

Let's hope it's a one off and maintain our position in the league for the remainder of the season.

That pissed off after a horrible drive, and poor team performance I can't be bothered to add anymore.

The point I was trying to make mate was simply a concern. Nothing more. Ive said mamy times that we are a very strong side at home. Its away from home where promotion was lost, last season. Now this season, we have already lost away to some average\poor sides. This can't continue or we will lose out again.

I firmly believe this to be true. We'll see what happens, but, as I posted the other day, Im not surprised we lost tonight.
