Well said Col. Facts are we are not consistant enougth away from home. Good teams do not lose to the likes of Sheff wed, Charlton, Doncaster away they at least pick up a point. Quite simply we will not get automatic promotion if this trend continues.

2 teams will go up automatically amd whichever two it is will have lost games like those. Fact! Ok it's not good to lose these games but it will happen, just like we will pull off good results against teams like Watford and Wigan. This forum is extraordinary after we lose! We are top because we have so far been the best team in this division and I see no reason why we shouldn't make a serious push for promotion

The mentality needs to be right it has been so far but now we are top that adds it own pressure we bottled it last night but thankfully we are still top.

But this result should serve as a wake up call to the players that the job is not done, expecting a reaction against Brighton.

Steady on Babs you will get banned for posting such things

I suppose it depends what trend they mean... if they mean the trend of the season (we'd finish top), trend of the last 6 games (we'd finish joint second), or the trend of... the last game (we'd finish bottom not winning another game all season).

Do people realise we have the THIRD best away record in the league. QPR have the EIGHTH.

Some Lestoh fans can't be arsed to deal with stats, they much rather dwell in negative feelings towards one specific individual.

This is the first away game where we've just not really turned up, hopefully it is a blip and a could response against a decent Brighton side can give up some momentum going into a potentially season defining period where we face 3 promotion rivals and Man City in 12 days.

We didn't turn up at Charlton, it was an awful display

I think you'd have to give him the benefit of the doubt that it was due to some sort of injury

No we don't, Pearson said he wasn't injured.

Actually if current trends continues we'll finish top.

Depends on what you mean by current, 6 points from 4 games is a drop on what we got in the 4 before that. ;)

Made that point above... we can all pick our own trend to suit an argument. But most seem to be critisising our away form over the season, so really we have to take the whole season into account... and that trend puts us top with the third best away record.

I don't think most are criticising our away form, they are pointing out that it was a problem last season and that we have dropped some silly points this season.

Pearson himself didn't sound happy so I don't understand why many on here don't want to discuss it.

You know who gets ridiculously upset when someone questions the manager or the team performance.

I'd claim the team and the manager have learnt from previous mistakes, but you cannot eradicate all mishaps at once and no team has ever been promoted from this league without a single defeat. We will drop points eventually and already have. And so do other teams.

It'd be best if we came back to this point at the end of February 2014 - much more of a fair comparison.

Of course nobody is happy when we lose but its people who say things like 'we're shit', 'our away form is crap'. Just the reactionary drivel. This works both ways though because the over the top optimists that post threads about us already being in the prem are equally deluded.

We passed up a good chance last night and I'm gutted but we've proven we can bounce back. Its a hard slog this league and we will have ups and downs but its all about having more up than downs

I'm shocked that NP alluded to taking Knocky off for tactical reasons. What tactical reason was that? To become less threatening on the attack?

I personally wouldn't have stuck with the same team last night and that's not just hindsight speaking. We know how physical Wednesday are and we know how badly we did against teams like that season, that's why players like Hammond and Taylor-Fletcher were signed. What's the point in having these players if they aren't going to be used in matches like this? I think NP resents having to change his sides because of other teams tactics, but we are going to have to start. 3 of the 4 teams we've lost to this season have been Sheff Wed, Charlton and Doncaster.

We've had a great start to the season, but our inability to learn the lessons of previous defeats against lower-ranked teams is really frustrating.

On the plus side, Brighton aren't physical or defensive, so hopefully we'll have more luck on Saturday.

Hackers, for me there is a very big difference between discussing us dropping some poor points away from home and the reasons for that. And someone saying that if our away form continues as it is we have no chance, or if "trends continue" we have no chance.

We have dropped points we really shouldn't be, no doubt about it. The point people are making is that other teams also have, so if we have no chance neither do they.

QPR have got 3 points less than us away from home and also lost to Doncaster.

Burnley only have one point more, but for two moments of Kasper madness we'd have more than them also!!

People seem to focus on us losing a couple more games than the others, but three away draws gets you as many points as one win and two losses.

I'd certainly rather be moaning about players, systems, performances in our position now. We are top and can still improve. I'm not happy with the defeat last night but so far, after a loss, we've won at least the next two games. If we can do that we'll go five points ahead of Burnley.

Pearson's not impressed and that is what we want to hear. He won't get carried away and neither should we. I'm all for constructive criticism but belief that our season will totally collapse is a bit premature.

Two awful performances in 4 games is something to worry about but not get too carried away with.

I think last seasons awful run is still in people's  minds so they are almost expecting the worst.

Last nights substitutions seemed to me like some of the awful decisions we saw during that run last season.

Taking Knocky off makes no sense, playing Hammond when you're chasing a game seems strange and does anyone really believe that Schlupp is capable of turning a game?

Brighton, Burnley & QPR should all play in a way that will allow us to play at our best.

Was anyone else getting annoyed by how long their keeper was allowed to time waste? He was collecting the ball from a cross and lying on the ground for a good 5 seconds before getting up, I'm sure it was approaching 10 seconds the final time he did it. Ref didn't bother telling him to hurry up though.

And that trip on Vardy in front of our fans which wasn't a foul...

Neither of these affected the result, was just atrocious refereeing.

We were saying the exact same thing. And then towards the end when he stood waving his hands at the Wednesday fans. I'm not making any excuses as we were poor but the amount of time he was taking was ridiculous.

Its simple Knockaert is too much of a luxury away from home we should start with 4-3-3 away from home with Knockaert on the bench

Not sure if a WUM or an idiot...?

I called it. Our away jinx strikes again.

One game at a time etc....

Second game on the trot I've predicted the correct score!

Amongst the disappointment it's always nice to know that someone out there can take some small joy in our defeat!  :D

Was really looking forward to that (my first away since Doncaster...) but struggling to think of anything that could've gone worse. Horrible performance, shit atmosphere in our end and roadworks that turned it into a 6 hour round trip. One to forget. Bring on Brighton.

Not sure how much has been said on the Knockaert substitution but here's my view on it.

It's a 'tactical' decision that cost us 3 points. We looked dangerous every time Knockaert was on the ball, feeding in Vardy, Nugent and even Dyer at times. He made things click and support Wasilewski well enough. He scored a pearler of a goal. Mattock couldn't handle him and had to hack him down, resulting in a yellow card just before half time. So what do we do? Take away any threat we could possess down the right. A left back on a yellow, who can't tackle and getting dogs abuse from us, up against Knockaert - walking red card if you ask me...

I agreed with bringing Hammond on as Sheffield Wednesday broke time after time through the centre of the park and Hammond put a stop to that but we had NO width. One of the strikers should have gone, not Knockaert. Terrible decision, we had no shape and no balance after that.

at half time the commentator on the 5 live coverage said " so Mattock's done his job well with the tackle  got a yellow card but  - good news for Wednesday , no Knockaert in the second half" I could not believe what I was hearing
