Bad result, but lets maintain a sense of perspective on this

There are no teams you "should" beat. Every game is tough, and its one game at a time.

We are top of the league, we had 30 attempts on goal on saturday and won comfortably.

Defeats will happen.

Lets just stay calm, realise its one defeat out of several that WILL come this season, realise if we were offered this position at the beginning of the season we would have taken it, and lets put this behind us.

FAO Igfualol, Cardiff had lost five this time last year and had 38 points from 19 games as opposed to our 38 from 18. So we're going well so far.

That makes me feel better. Thanks!

Just glad it isn't a week to wait for another game.

Not getting why my Joe Mattock is a cvnt thread was deleted? How is it worse than Absolute Cvnts of our time which graces the forum every week?

Not consistent, is it?

Same story as every game we've lost this season - crap team picks all their tallest, biggest players, then hoof hoof hoof hoof into the lead, then wang everyone behind the ball and stifle the game out. Happened that way against Charlton, Doncaster, Forest and Wednesday. Bah humbug. Shame we didn't score some of our chances, Mattock's a twatbag, and I fooking hate Connor sodding Wickham. And Coalville. And Stringer. Especially Stringer.

That's why we can't afford to go behind in these types of games! I'm afraid on 2 occasions we've gone behind because of a mistake by kasper, I think the guys awesome but don't think he's reached his standards from last yr

Frustrating but we move on.

Sounded like we didn't turn up tonight, looking at the goals we conceded our defence looked and sounded a shambles.

We move on and the interesting factor will be how well we bounce back.

Woeful result. We're almost a one man team. No knocky, no hope.

For all of NP's pissing around with 433 and 532 and whatever we still have no plan b at all.

Can't see us staying in the top-2 with the games we've got coming up. More than likely be fighting for a playoff spot by spring.

The rot starts here.

So after the last loss we have gone top and still are top.

This will be a bigger loss to the lads than florist.

Sure they will kick on.

Just cos we fell away last season you cant asume we will this.

They needs us all to get behind them not keep turning on them FFS

Not good enough, we've got to stop these defeats at average and poor teams. Last couple of years we've done it at Doncaster twice, Millwall twice, tonight, Peterborough, Bristol City, Barnsley. Draws aren't great but it's something to take away.

Sounded so flat and lifeless on the radio.

We won without him against Ipswich.

How many losses did Cardiff have this time last year? 4 seems quite a few to me.

after 18 games last season Cardiff was top and had lost 5 games all away and had 37 points

we had also lost 5 games 1 at home 4 away and had 33 points sitting in 3rd

There'll be games like this throughout the season - the mark of a promotion winning side is how you respond.

Still a piss poor result though. Embarassing.

Last season we had all the ability we needed, we failed because we had a weak mentality and no plan b.

This season we have all the ability we need, but no plan b, and today proves we still possess the weak mentality. We went three points top and tonight came up against a calamitous pub team. Should have been easy, but we bottled it. We're bottlers, plain and simple. We will lose in the play offs again this year. You can quote me on that in May. Nothing has changed, result will be the same.

Can't blame Kasper for either of the goals. Some people are saying he was at fault for the second but he had a Wednesday player running towards the ball. If Kasper commits too early to dive to his left he leaves the whole goal open for the oncoming player. Needs defenders to help him by either blocking the run, getting a foot in, or not letting in that sort of ball in the first place.

This season won't be defined on losing to shitty opposition like Wednesday but rather the likes of QPR and Burnley beat those ****ers and we will win the league.

Like last season our away form is just not good enough if it can't be rectified it will be our downfall again.

Ugh away from home we've won five, drawn one and lost three.

We're currently top of the table and averaging over two points a game.

Our away form isn't as good as our home form, but it's not a major problem.

This made me choke on my cuppa.  What a ridiculous comment.  W5 D1 L3 away?  How is that poor?  5 away wins out of 9.  We do that over the course of the season away and I can assure you that our away form wont be our downfall.

It was inevitable that we were going to lose this.  Still top though so thats all that matters.   However, you do have to wonder why this is Doncaster, Charlton and now Sheff Wednesday that are beating us.  Is it a complacency issue?

I just worry now that we could go to Brighton at the weekend and get nothing, and then our heads drop for what are the most important games of the season so far against Brighton, QPR and Reading.

Agreed.  It was a really disappointing result tonight but why did I sort of expect it?  We really need to be a lot more solid at the back, cannot afford these soft, scrappy, avoidable goals to keep going in.  These are games that we must vitally win...Especially going one nil up so quickly, that's when you need to be solid.  The champions of last seasn (Cardiff) would have won that 1-0....Scored early, made the game scrappy, wasted time and won.  It is so frustrating at times.

On a positive note...We are still top. :)

I'm sure you could have fit more cliches in there.

Newsflash, Sheffield Wednesday are a team we should beat. The league table says we are better than them. If we lost to them, it's because we didn't play well enough. Losing doesn't just happen. That is a myth the media try to feed you so that they can say the league is so exciting, and what players/managers feed you so they can have an excuse when they lose.

I'm willing to accept it's (at this point) just a match that we've lost, but you need to accept the above first.

If anything losing highlights our weaknesses and I hope Nigel will be assessing them before Saturday.

In any case, I'm not Nigel, I'm certainly not paid enough to make out it isn't a nightmare when we lose, and that isn't my job anyway.

The 3 days of shitty work between now and when we next play are going to drag big time.
