Mark_w Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 I'm going to reply to the content of the post because I don't see why I shouldn't respond to anything you post, but none of it's going to be nasty or aggressive so I don't think it needs to be deleted. The point I was trying to make mate was simply a concern. Nothing more. Ive said mamy times that we are a very strong side at home. Its away from home where promotion was lost, last season. Now this season, we have already lost away to some average\poor sides. This can't continue or we will lose out again. If it does continue, at the rate it is at the moment, then our away record will still be fairly good and we'll still be in a position to win the league assuming our home form continues. Surely?
Dickov22 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 We were well below par today, but really shouldn't have lost the game. I barely remember Sheff Weds having any chances. Vardy should have scored 2 goals tonight, and Lloyd missed a great chance too. It just wasn't our day. I'm not concerned.
deanolegend1989 Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 If we lost to Watford and Ipswich but beat say Sheffield Wed and Doncaster would people be complaining as much? Ok it feels like a waste against poor teams but Watford away was a great win as was coming back at Ipswich. 5 wins 1 draw and 3 losses = 16 points. Im sure if our away record was like the below we would be saying how good we are and how we are so hard to beat: 4 wins 4 draws 1 loss(at Watford) = 16 points.
Bettsj2 Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Radio Sheffield said that Knocky hobbled off at half time following an awful tackle from Mattock. Why are some people shitting their pants over him going off?
Happy Fox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Radio Sheffield said that Knocky hobbled off at half time following an awful tackle from Mattock. Why are some people shitting their pants over him going off? Yet NP said he wasn't injured?
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Radio Sheffield said that Knocky hobbled off at half time following an awful tackle from Mattock. Why are some people shitting their pants over him going off? Look mate you can start using facts and evidence for your opinions but around here we like to make our minds up based on horrific, sensationalist worst-case scenarios which are in turn based on fabricated information. PEARSON OUT.
Nugent Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Just got back. They wanted it so much more than us and were first to every knock down and scraps, as Bert said, Morgan was absolutely bullied by Wickham and Was wasn't great. Not clinical enough and Knocky was the only one to come out with any credit for me.
Walker Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Just got back, whole team was awful. No quality from either side, they just took their two chances and we didn't, three of which were clear cut chances from where I was stood. As frustrating as tonight was, there's no need to overreact, a team top of the league after 20 games doesn't turn bad overnight. Onwards and upwards.
MC Prussian Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 It was a poor match for 92+ minutes from our side. We scored the first so early into the game, then completely switched off. The players were already somewhere else, but not on the pitch anymore. Granting a side like Wednesday two sloppy goals and then being unable to break through their defense in the second half doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence going into the following few games, especially the ones against the Top Six/Top Ten in this league still to come. I can't pick a single individual that convinced me today. Our defenders were always one step too late, even Morgan couldn't cope with their strikers. Wasilewski had a terrible game, usually shying away from one-on-ones, his passing was atrocious, as was his positioning. Headers went generally amiss or straight into an opponent's feet, the midfield failed to chase after lost balls, failed to provide the attackers with good, efficient passes and our strikers where hardly anywhere to be seen. Disappointed with the performance, but Wednesday did everything most of us predicted they would do in the last few days before the match. They fought, they battled and they had the luck on their side with two preventable goals in the first half. Their pressing worked, they ran their socks off and showed what we were lacking the most... pride. It felt as if the players thought they had done enough against Millwall and needn't care any longer. It was the old, complacent Leicester that we all know all too good. I don't know that Pearson told them at half-time, but it didn't work. Wednesday reverted to protecting their lead (efficiently), and all we could muster were lacklustre long balls into their box. Hopefully, this does not spell another bad few weeks to come. The team's got something to prove against Brighton and that is the desire to wear the shirt.
Soar Fox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Knockaert took bad tackle from Mattock, I thought that was the reason he was subbed. If not then its a baffling decision especially considering we played the second half without hardly anyone on the right wing.
Soar Fox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Forget the football for a minute anyone know the two birds stood in block Y towards the front? One of them was eyeing me up all game and she didn't look too bad.
z-layrex Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 For some reason I just knew we were going to lose that one.
MC Prussian Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Last season we had all the ability we needed, we failed because we had a weak mentality and no plan b. This season we have all the ability we need, but no plan b, and today proves we still possess the weak mentality. We went three points top and tonight came up against a calamitous pub team. Should have been easy, but we bottled it. We're bottlers, plain and simple. We will lose in the play offs again this year. You can quote me on that in May. Nothing has changed, result will be the same. So, you're telling me that this team hasn't improved compared to last season? When were we top in 2012/2013 and for how long exactly? Granted, it was a turgid performance against Wednesday yesterday, but to call the team "bottlers" after only 18 games played is ludicrous. Take your constant negativity somewhere else and give credit where credit is due. Besides, Sheffield Wednesday may have been a "calamitous pub team" under Dave Jones so far this season, yesterday proved that sacking your manager can lift the spirits. They were a completely changed team - plenty of us have seen this coming and warned against complacency early on. And yes, I will quote you on that.
Captain... Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 The point I was trying to make mate was simply a concern. Nothing more. Ive said mamy times that we are a very strong side at home. Its away from home where promotion was lost, last season. Now this season, we have already lost away to some average\poor sides. This can't continue or we will lose out again. I firmly believe this to be true. We'll see what happens, but, as I posted the other day, Im not surprised we lost tonight. But what can you do Col? If you win at home then play away? Do you change a winning team? Lets hope it's not burn out... Sorry couldn't resist, I'm pretty pissed off about the result, but these kind of results happen at least once a month in the championship, we all know that and we could all see it coming. I really don't think we can be too concerned about our away form. Look at the games we didn't win. Charlton. James red card Blackpool. Stupid penalty Doncaster. Freak error from Kasper This is the first away game where we've just not really turned up, hopefully it is a blip and a could response against a decent Brighton side can give up some momentum going into a potentially season defining period where we face 3 promotion rivals and Man City in 12 days.
ScouseFox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 If Pearson took Knocky off for tactical reasons then that's a bit of a shitter. He's been bang on with his subs most the season and won us a fair few points making good decisions as good times. But taking Knocky off again when we're losing (like Forest) and he's clearly our best attacker on the pitch (like Forest) and he's pulling out tricks against a full back on a yellow (like Forest) is disappointing to hear. You'd think he would've learnt from the second half against Forest... If there is an injury then hopefully it was just a niggle and he didn't want to play another 45 in case he caused himself some proper damage.
MattGamble92 Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 People on here jokingly say PEARSON OUT all the time as a dig at those who have it in for Nige. Even as a 100% supporter of Nigel, i started to get a bit tired of this. But tonight has reminded me why these idiots need to be laughed at. Cannot believe some of the absolute shit you people come out with on here
Callabinho Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 I think that could have happened to anybody, it's evident that the previous manager had lost the lads, otherwise they would have been a walk over today! As frustrating as it is things like this will happen from time to time this season, what will define us as championship contenders is what we do next and so far one thing that has been faultless so far this season is our ability to bounce back from negative results! I believe that we will and we will maintain our place in the top two for the season!
foxfanazer Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Disappointing and frustrating game but if somebody had offered you th current league table before the start of the season you'd have snatched their hands off. After Knockaert's early goal I thought we'd win comfortably, maybe the players did too? They need to realise that they are only top from hard work and dedication. We can't simply turn up and expect the opposition to roll over because we are the mighty Leicester City! It would've been nice to have had a home game next to bounce back but instead we have a tricky away tie. Brighton did lose last night though so they might not be overly confident. Anyway lets not go too overboard with our criticism as we have a long way to go in this season and a negative atmosphere can only be harmful to us.

sbfox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd all the resident FT knobbers come out after a loss. HI GUYS!!
Bert Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Forget the football for a minute anyone know the two birds stood in block Y towards the front? One of them was eyeing me up all game and she didn't look too bad.
nickelbyfox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Minor blip last night and quite like that with January coming around we have got an 'awakening; before the rest of this months tough games, BUT I do worry about Pearsons tactical nous when things are going wrong.... so just hope we move on from this 'blip' and walk the league!

Good teams do not lose to the likes of Sheff wed, Charlton, Doncaster away they at least pick up a point. Quite simply we will not get automatic promotion if this trend continues.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Based on the comments here it's obvious that this will be the first year in which no team gains automatic promotion. QPR lost to Doncaster and only managed a close draw against Millwall. Burnley have been winless for 5 league games. This will be an incredible period in football. Nobody knows how it's going to work yet but because several teams, perhaps even all of them, have lost football matches to teams they were expected to beat, nobody will go up automatically.
