tartanowl Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Fully deserved 3 points that and a good performance from a team bereft of confidence. Both teams could have scored more goals and both keepers made key saves. Best of luck for the rest of the season except when we play you at your place of course.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Ugh away from home we've won five, drawn one and lost three. We're currently top of the table and averaging over two points a game. Our away form isn't as good as our home form, but it's not a major problem. Snow is right Mark We know that you never have a bad word to say about Pearson but do try to offer some balance of perspective. This season we've already lost away to Charlton, Donny and Wednesday. Thats not good enough if we are gonna win the league and needs to stop.
dayday Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Like to see some of our wasted chances if stringer is to be believed we could have scored 4or 5.
Kitchandro Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 It was moved genius. Moved to where? And with what reasoning? I'm hardly a genius but thanks
johnny the fox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Can't blame Kasper for either of the goals. Some people are saying he was at fault for the second but he had a Wednesday player running towards the ball. If Kasper commits too early to dive to his left he leaves the whole goal open for the oncoming player. Needs defenders to help him by either blocking the run, getting a foot in, or not letting in that sort of ball in the first place. your not peter are you?

Surely he has to take some blame!!
Corky Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Every game isn't tough. Saturday was as comfortable as they come. Last season this fixture was a stroll. Wednesday will be fired up but if we are at our best we won't lose.
Bluearmy 316 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Crap performance when I really think we are going to crack on we do this
Guest shearfox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Pearson was far from happy, I wouldn't have liked to be in that dressing room

This season we've already lost away to Charlton, Donny and Wednesday. Thats not good enough if we are gonna win the league and needs to stop. No, I'm right. We're averaging over two points a game. There is no problem, just lots of people who enjoy moaning and haven't had many opportunities recently. The fact that we have lost three games away from home is not proof that our away form is awful, we've got 16 points from a possible 27. That is not a disaster.
sylofox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Last season we had all the ability we needed, we failed because we had a weak mentality and no plan b. This season we have all the ability we need, but no plan b, and today proves we still possess the weak mentality. We went three points top and tonight came up against a calamitous pub team. Should have been easy, but we bottled it. We're bottlers, plain and simple. We will lose in the play offs again this year. You can quote me on that in May. Nothing has changed, result will be the same. Made your millions from being a pro did you. On the day they did the business shit happens even man u city and arsenal lose to lesser teams. Its one game FFS grow up and get behind them if you really are a supporter.
deanolegend1989 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Only seeing the goals to be fair the first Wickham goal is top class. 9 times out of 10 that wouldnt happen. 2nd goal is a bit of a freak, could blame Kasper but again just 1 of those that happen here and there. I didnt see the game so dont know exactly the bits and bobs but from the goals, Id suggest we were relativly solid and sometimes you just got to put it down to 1 of those days.
Bluearmy 316 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Good Pearson should be fuming the players let him down the club down and the traveling fans down.
TheStig Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Woeful result. We're almost a one man team. No knocky, no hope. For all of NP's pissing around with 433 and 532 and whatever we still have no plan b at all. Can't see us staying in the top-2 with the games we've got coming up. More than likely be fighting for a playoff spot by spring. The rot starts here. Just shut the f... up!!!!
ImBlue Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Matty James was atrocious. Kind should have come on. Hammond and James only have eyes for going back and are off the pace. They wouldn't have put a pass that breaches that defence if they were there all night. Nigel, get king back in the fold

Donut Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 I'm sure you could have fit more cliches in there. Newsflash, Sheffield Wednesday are a team we should beat. The league table says we are better than them. If we lost to them, it's because we didn't play well enough. Losing doesn't just happen. That is a myth the media try to feed you so that they can say the league is so exciting, and what players/managers feed you so they can have an excuse when they lose. I'm willing to accept it's (at this point) just a match that we've lost, but you need to accept the above first. If anything losing highlights our weaknesses and I hope Nigel will be assessing them before Saturday. In any case, I'm not Nigel, I'm certainly not paid enough to make out it isn't a nightmare when we lose, and that isn't my job anyway. The 3 days of shitty work between now and when we next play are going to drag big time. Well if your logic was right then the team bottom of the league would never score a point then. I mean we could stay calm, and we could stay level headed and move on to the next game, but why bother? Wed all be much better off taking your approach wouldnt we? i mean we are top, but no, lets treat tonight like a total disaster and mourn over it. Lets sulk like children instead of staying calm and looking at the bigger picture. Youre job isnt to manage the team youre quite right. And you couldnt do it because youre emotionally unstable.
Bert Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 They wanted it more than us. They got in our faces, pressed us quickly and they defended with a line forcing us to play long balls which even though a few times we got in behind with them, they were aimless and we wasted some great chance. We need to be much more clinical, Nugent, Dyer and Vardy all guilty. We were second to everything tonight. The loose balls were falling their way too. We just can't seem to play against these teams and when it gets scrappy. Quite annoyed that we seemed to sit back on our 1 goal lead after 3 minutes. Drinkwater had an off game (no coincidence we play poor) James, Morgan (completely dominated by Wickham), Nugent were awful. Hammond was rubbish when he came on and Jeff did little to influence himself in the game. Wood had only long balls to feed off, he needs to start Saturday. Brighton's game will suit us more. We need to get this result out of our system as quickly as Pearson gets the wins out of the system. But we also need to be much much better on Saturday. Too many times tonight some players didn't even bother challenging for the lost causes which was disappointing. Can't believe we brought Knocky off (unless he was injured?) We are still in a great position so let's look to getting back on track Saturday. I'm disappointed we've been out battled and missed out on the chance to take a 5 point lead over 3rd.
Magictv Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Snow is right Mark We know that you never have a bad word to say about Pearson but do try to offer some balance of perspective. This season we've already lost away to Charlton, Donny and Wednesday. Thats not good enough if we are gonna win the league and needs to stop. Except of course the fact that despite losing to those three teams you have mentioned we are top after 18 games. Do you really think losing away to "poor" teams means we are going to fail this season? Our habit over recent years of a small number of shock wins against the better sides certainly hasn't led us to great success, so why does it follow that some surprising results going against us signal some sort of downfall? This is a sport, upsets happen. The real surprise would be if all results were consistent with the relative league positions of the teams involved!
Bettsj2 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 The bottom 3 a won tonight so we shouldnt read too much into this. Its quite obvious we're a different proposition to last season. We didnt play at all well tonight but once again, missed chances cost us. Its never good to point fingers but if Nuge or Vardy stick a chance away or if Kasper wasnt pissing about for their second, we get a point tonight. Main point is, even when we're shit, we still create unlike last year when we were shit we did nothing.

Lionheart Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 How many losses did Cardiff have this time last year? 4 seems quite a few to me. Cardiff lost 9 all season and Hull lost 15.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 your not peter are you? But he just watched the ball go in!!! Surely he has to take some blame!! Watch the replay here http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/91430-goals-from-today/ You can clearly see he's waiting for the Wednesday lad to jump in with his legs which is what you'd normally expect from a cross like that. If he dives early to his left then he has no chance of saving that. The fact that the guy doesn't bother to jump in makes it look like Kasper hasn't moved (he actually makes a very good attempt at saving it so I don't know how he "watched it" go in). If the lad running makes contact with the ball and Kasper has already dived to his left, everybody would be slating him for diving for a non-existent ball. And if he stands still and the guy makes contact, he has a decent chance of saving it and looks like a hero despite not moving. Instead of blaming Kasper, you should be questioning the fact that he has a ball bouncing in his 6 yard box with nobody challenging it. Should never have been able to get the ball in at all.

No, because some teams at the bottom are similarly crap. The league table says we should be much better than Wednesday and that's the standard we have played to more often than not. If we drop points against sides like this it's because we haven't played well enough. That's not to say I never expect us to drop points against sides like this, it means I'm willing to accept that we've lost because of our failings on the day. Which you are not. Which means you are irrational, biased and single minded. Plus you can't resist having a dig because I dared to suggest the team wasn't good enough tonight. Which makes you look unstable, childish and short of a decent argument. The bigger picture is we are nowhere near promoted yet. Our previous in this situation is we bottled it. In fact, several times. So, if we're talking about rationality here, let's at least base it on some evidence, previous events and such. Not just 'oh well we'll obviously win the next game and we'll obviously get promoted, this is just a freak result'. Try and maintain some perspective, yeh?

Seeing as we've won three times as many as we've lost, and created 30 chances 4 days ago, I'd say it is a anomoly so far based on this season's 'evidence'. And obviously the team wasn't good enough, but that's no reason to think that a collapse is innocent.
