Happy Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Morgan has gone down the shitter recently perhaps contract talks are playing on his mind! Wouldn't be surprised.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Hey col I agree with what you are saying about all shots count. But 219 shots for 29 goals to me with no calculator is about 1.3 goals to every 10 shots. For a top 3 side without checking other stats that seems a little light to me. Then consider our conceeded 1.1 goal a game we really don't need a dip in form either way to drop. We look good sat top/third today but looking at the stats we are very fragile. No I am not over reacting to 2 defeats but we are praps not as good as our position makes us believe. To me Nige has to sort our defence and quick and look to our attack and someone that can finish. If 2 games ago we were top creators our finishing or player judgement is letting us down. Eh up mate.. Shots at goal can sometimes be an indicator of a team who are finding it difficult to break an opposition down. Pass, pass, pass... fook it, there's nothing on so I'll have a shot. More interesting would be shots on target? Or break it down still further... shots missed when through on goal. That kinda thing.
MC Prussian Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 It was one of the most shocking and most inept performances from a Leicester City side in years. We've gone what should've/could've been two winnable games to gaining zilch. Lessons learnt? We don't seem to do well when lingering in first place, we can't handle the pressure or the expectations, the team's not ready for it. All that opposing teams like Wednesday and Brighton have to do to stop us from playing is establish a pressing game and be physical enough to boss us in midfield. There was little to nothing coming from our midfield axis. Our defense was so-so-la-la - Konchesky maybe the standout player. Wasilewski was atrocious, usually off pace, out of position and getting more and more frustrated by his own inabilty to cope with the flow of the game - refraining to imbecile shoving and pushing. He should've seen a second yellow earlier - or, if I had been the manager, either not been nominated at all or substituted by Moore at half-time. There was little to no passion in this Leicester City side today, no commitment, no creativity (particularly in the first half), no leader on the pitch. I think we had about one shot on target in the first 45 minutes and that was it. Only the introduction of Knockaert in the second half brought some spark back into the side. Otherwise, we looked lacklustre and disinterested. It felt as if the majority of the players saw themselves already promoted, not having to care one bit that there are another 25+ games left to play. I couldn't make out a lot of work ethic and why Pearson insisted on playing some sort of 4-3-3 when we were overturned in the middle of the park, remains a mystery to me. Other question marks: Schmeichel's poor kick that led to Brighton's first goal. Schoolboy error. Caught everyone going forward by surprise. And Nugent was piss-poor, I have no clue what he was doing in midfield (!!) for large stretches during the match. We were absolutely poor tonight and I do hope this is not history repeating. If the team and Pearson have not learnt from last season's slump around this time of the year, then we don't deserve to be up where we are right now.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Just got back from the game. We were an absolute disgrace to the name of football. We were an absolute shambles from start to finish. It was an insult to the championship, to not perform in any department. Probably the worst performance I have ever seen. I felt ashamed to be wearing a Leicester shirt. If this is how we are going to perform, then we will lose every game from now until the end of the season. Not a single player has the right to hold his head up high. BLOODY DISGUSTING! Sort now Pearson, or you will lose my backing.
MC Prussian Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I always say this but I feel so sorry for the away fans. Waste of time for everyone that supports LCFC. The team let us all down today. About seven to eight hours by coach, £50 for ticket and travel, plus more expensive food and matchday items at the AMEX. Not one of the best awaydays in my life.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 This time next week we'll be top again! Then we have to improve a million per cent. Obviously you were lucky enough not to go.
Happy Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 This is just a thought and tad cynical, but are the players putting their selfish desires and playing shit because they cannot get their dangling new contract!
JonnyBoy Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 All the Pearson haters and management experts appear from under the rock when we lose. The only way to stop you guys moaning is have a 100% win ratio. that is complete b.s mate. We have a right to occasionally speak up against shite tactics. I know Pearson is our manager and we have faith in him but he is no God we shouldn't bow down to with every decision he makes

I was going to go, but I thought the shambles at Wednesday was bad coupled with M! delays. Well, not sure what I would have done with that performance and a 6 hour coach each way. No more away days for me, and if we bottle it again this year, I wont be renewing my ST.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Absolutely fvcking dreadful. I went with a mate who is at Sussex Uni and (unsurprisingly) he couldn't believe that we're top of the league. Awful team selection. We've got the most talented player in the division sitting on the bench for an absolutely critical match for 45 minutes. Madness. Pearson takes full blame for today. Not good enough. At all. Dropping Knocky is a bizarre decision at best
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 This is just a thought and tad cynical, but are the players putting their selfish desires and playing shit because they cannot get their dangling new contract! A 'tad' cynical? How incredibly unprofessional would the players have to be to deliberately play badly because they aren't being given a new contract? Do you think we've got children playing for us or something?

How incredibly unprofessional would the players have to be to deliberately play badly because they aren't being given a new contract? Do you think we've got children playing for us or something? Didn't savage do a similiar thing whilst at Derby?, I'm not suggesting we have a bunch of savages playing for us....that's blackpool.
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Didn't savage do a similiar thing whilst at Derby?, I'm not suggesting be have a bunch of savages playing for us....that's blackpool. Suppose there are a few of those types out there but I really doubt that's the case with us. Can understand them being distracted by the contract situation but I don't believe they're deliberately playing badly.

Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Poor performance and result, but hopefully we can bounce back. Glad we are at home for the Burnley game and have a week to prepare anyhow.
Corky Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 This is just a thought and tad cynical, but are the players putting their selfish desires and playing shit because they cannot get their dangling new contract! What? Surely it would be the opposite and they'd work hard for a new contract?
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Contradictory? Nope. One is on the purpose the other is not on purpose i.e. not the same.
Happy Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I am trying to justify in my mind why we are playing badly, I think this contract situation as you alluded to Harry could be playing on their minds however I think it may be one factor in contributing towards the performances as well!, 2 defeats on the spin is certainly uncharacteristic of us hopefully it is a one off. But we cannot afford these performances and results against Burnley and QPR, if we want automatic promotion. We are averaging 2 points a game, so all is not bad but we cannot let our standards slip though. It would be typical City though, to lose to these opposition which we have and then thrash Burnley and QPR!

Jacnah Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 If you get called an idiot, just take it on the chin and laugh it up, that's what I do. I've been on this forum long enough, for those types of comments to not bother me anymore. I told everyone last Sat, Wasilewski ain't a right-back, I got called an idiot, who's laughing now Lee? I am! I've tried to stick by Nugent, but you do go overboard on him with your comments, but I can see where and others are coming from, I actually couldn't give a shit if he doesn't sign a new contract, couple of season's ago, I would of happily said he was one of the best strikers in the Championship, but right now I will happily say he is a very average one, who has ran out of gas. Konchesky won't be here next season in my opinion, even if we stay in the Championship, he does a good job now and then, but his legs are gone, a fresh face at left-back is a must. King is a quality midfielder, when played right, and when the team are playing well, but we don't let him get forward anymore, well as much as we'd like to see, this is a player who scored was it around 15 goals a couple season's back, nowadays will be lucky if he hits double figures. He is a goal scoring midfielder, and we need to utilise him more. well at least youve confirmed what most on here would think regarding your motives. Well done Im pleased you have had a good day.
Leicesterpool Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Well that we was tad disappointing, first half the team didn't look comfortable whatsoever. Second half the changes made a little difference but not enough to earn us a point. Brighton deserved all the points, My biggest question is why didn't Knocky start?
Babylon Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 No. But I'm surprised your able to embrace the highs when you're so pragmatic about what we've seen today. A good win pleases me, a loss pisses me off... But until we know how it all ends I won't go nuts either way.
cambridgefox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Terrible display today,of which I had the misfortune to witness,I would have hauled Wasi off at HT,but he wasn't the only one.Judging by our league position just a bad day.Knocky managed to cause more problems in the first minute of the 2nd half than we managed all 1st.Though when we scored I thought for 10 mins we would score again and take something out of it,which would have been harsh on Brighton to be fair.Thought our support was just as shocking, small group to the right trying to lift it and even taking the piss out of our own support. They were right to do so,but we didn't have much to shout about, but maybe would have given the players a lift.it was ok just after we scored.i fooked off with 3 mins to go,I really didn't want to wait 45 mins for a bus and needed to pick the kids up. Given the effort our supporters made near Xmas, high prices, quite a distance ,really think we were short changed,I don't go to a huge amount of games, but I know a lot who spend a huge amount hardly missing a game, that performance must of cut deeply. Results went for us near the top again, could have been worse. So we forget this and move on.we are not near the top for performances like this, these things happen.
Riot Van Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Got back only recently (live in cambridge) and that was simply the worst first half performance I have seen from us in a long long long time. I personally thought for the first few minutes of the first half we looked good (introduction of knocky) but after that it went flat until we brought Wood and GTF on (yes i know we scored before they came on). Anyone who says that GTF is a waste of a signing is a moron. He looked really good today, looked like nige game him a free role and he spread balls across and genuinely made us tick in attacking areas. I also noticed that our lack of form recently has coincided with a lack of form from drinky, coincidence i think not. That's all. Bring on Burnley.
