Guest Col city fan Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 just need to get back to basics none of this 433 crap. we need de laet back to be honest as wasyl isn't really quick enough to be a rb although fair play to him he can certainly play better football that most of our defenders. 442 next game please nige! Rather than just writing, think.... We have lost many games under Pearson with a flat 4-4-2. Look at our away record under Nige which is nowhere near as good as the home form. Pearson needs to develop a way of playing away from home that makes us look defensively stronger. This is often not achieved with 4-4-2. This will make or break him. Im convinced by that.
Craig Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 We've lost two away games. One against a side who had just sacked their manager, the other against a very good side. We are a point off of the top. No need to panic.
MooseBreath Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 MooseBreath or MooseBrain? (haha, see what I did there?) If 2 losses in a row, taking us from top to 3rd, 1 point behind the leaders, is us "truly on the slide" then we may all need to wonder how we've all avoided suicide this long as LCFC fans. You can judge your chances of drowning at low tide if you want mate. I think it's probably better to wait and see how far in it's going to come first. And last season it came a long, long way in.

Nobody expects us to win every game, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't give it our best shot. And playing 433 is not giving it our best shot. It is setting up for failure.
darko2k7 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Not a good performance but with the start we have had it as afforded us to have this blip and it not really hurt us too much with us still only being one point off the top .
Happy Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Piss poor City turning up not good enough need to beat Burnley and QPR without question otherwise physcologically and mentally we are a playoff team which is not where we want to end up the season in.
justfoxes Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 So we lost another game 3 points down the drain yet again but I would rather we FOOK things up now rather than the last 4 months of the season at least now we have time to put things right in January pick up a few decent players to boost the squad!! We will bounce back and Pearson will be aware of his mistakes even tho he won't admit them and he will get the team right and in winning form again I think tho the next few weeks we will see a different Leicester side after watching back these games and Pearsons rockets up their area still stinging !! So less of the negative stuff and let's concentrate on the positives get behind the lads and we will be ok !! COYB
kingfox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I get called an idiot for that! Don't worry King, I agreed with you from the start Missing De laet, Dyer was same old Runs fast but we get nowhere with it, Nugent was shit, Vardy trying but shite, King shit until we changed formation Wes shakey, Konchesky beaten on that wing so many times, Was not a right back, So many problems with recent performances, and can be rectified, but how? How can you rectify 178 problems in 1 game? It was a nightmare for us, and it's worrying, Was happy with drinkwater, He didnt have the best game, but for the first half, he was the only player that wanted the ball If you get called an idiot, just take it on the chin and laugh it up, that's what I do. I've been on this forum long enough, for those types of comments to not bother me anymore. I told everyone last Sat, Wasilewski ain't a right-back, I got called an idiot, who's laughing now Lee? I am! I've tried to stick by Nugent, but you do go overboard on him with your comments, but I can see where and others are coming from, I actually couldn't give a shit if he doesn't sign a new contract, couple of season's ago, I would of happily said he was one of the best strikers in the Championship, but right now I will happily say he is a very average one, who has ran out of gas. Konchesky won't be here next season in my opinion, even if we stay in the Championship, he does a good job now and then, but his legs are gone, a fresh face at left-back is a must. King is a quality midfielder, when played right, and when the team are playing well, but we don't let him get forward anymore, well as much as we'd like to see, this is a player who scored was it around 15 goals a couple season's back, nowadays will be lucky if he hits double figures. He is a goal scoring midfielder, and we need to utilise him more.
Larry_LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Boils down to poor team selection YET AGAIN. Nugent offers nothing at the minute so drop him. Knockaert is our most creative player, so play him. James holds things together, so play him. But the worst one for me is Wasyl at RB. Has nigel taken a bump to the head? Hes a solid CB, but never EVER play him at RB ffs.
Bert Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The most disappointing thing for me today was that we were the masters of our own downfall, we didn't even have to make Brighton work hard for their lead. We were lacklustre, a yard off the pace, second to every loose ball and seemed scared to put a foot in. Again, we gave ourselves too much to do. The formation just doesn't work for us. There's no protection for the full backs and the midfield seems over run. Everything they did, we didn't. We didn't create any space for ourselves because we weren't moving. Every single goal of theirs could've been prevented. Couldn't see whether it was a penalty or not as it was at the other end, but it should've been saved for me. Kasper is starting to cost us too many goals, he'll soon be level on the amount of times he's saved us. Need to stop this rot and give Burnley a pasting.
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I expect a few changes now. Pearson's made a few mistakes and will recognise that I expect, those calling for a different line-up will probably get it.
Russell sprout Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 We are 3rd in league,a point off top, quartet final of cup,ild all have bitten me hand off had this been offered at start of season. Yes it's been a shit week, But we couldn't have 2 better league games in my opinion coming up in burnley and qpr, We responded well to defeats this season with the exception of today, Tactics and decisions hav'nt been great this last week, but at the same time Pearson has made some great and brave dicisions this season,he'll get it right again without a doubt?

Wouldn't say I agree with that... Couldn't follow the game but sounded dismal, we look capable of doing a repeat of last season and we need to rectify that.
Guy Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 For me it's the December Blues striking again I fear, while Nugent doesn't seem to be striking at all again! Away from the lengthy technicalities of seeing where it all went wrong today and on Tuesday, who's to blame and all that jazz, then I simplistically and personally think that it's the "December factor"! I mean when was the last good run we had in December?! - in League One perhaps or maybe our first season back in the Championship under Pearson after that....! Last season we won two from six in December and the season before it was worse, with us not winning at all! Under Sven in December 2010 we didn't fare much better either, winning just the once!
Karljohn Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 We have good strikers, we need a great striker, I thought we would have hassled and closed down for a goal less draw today but I'm baffled by the decision not to start Knockaert. Liam Moore recall needed too.
Father Ted Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I agree with most of that. Apart from Nugent.. I still believe the problem is a lack of supply primarily. I also don't think we'll beat Burnley. I just suppose we'll never see eye to eye on Nugent, Col. You can blame supply all you like but we have been creating a hell of a lot of chances. It almost seems rather odd how in most of the games we have lost, we created a whole lot more chances than the opposing teams. Look at Forest, 2 shots 2 goals. Today, 3 shots 3 goals. Wednesday, 2 shots 2 goals. Doncaster 0 shots, 1 goal. Kasper has hardly had anything to do in any of those games but we have still created plenty in them. We had 30 shots against Millwall! Supply is not the problem.
norfolk-fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Didn't get going and the first goal was our own doing and allowed them to get on the front foot and counter. I'm split over knockhaert today being on bench as could been different if started him but feel leaving him out and to bring on to change the game if needed may also been good as may then not needed to bring him on if winning, unfortantly 2 poor goals to go behind leaving us chasing he had to bring him on but made difference as was fresh. 4-3-3 I think will work for us if we have right players starting lie Moore or De Laet at RB, Was is too vaunable there and better at CB on away games. What I don't like is why do we seem to wake up after 60mins when we are chasing the game and then leave us open to counters ourselves. Today felt like we were set up to counter brightens attacking play but never got forward quick enough to make it work.
Russell sprout Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Wouldn't say I agree with that... Couldn't follow the game but sounded dismal, we look capable of doing a repeat of last season and we need to rectify that. The last to games have been poor, but for us to judge our defeats on 'what happened last season' is ridiculous,we have lost the last 2 games, and now the wheels have come off apparently,it's football,we were always gonna have a bad spell, and this is it,we'll come out stronger for it and will be top 2 am sure?remember it's a marathon not a sprint?
Crinklyfox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Just got back from the match (I live in Sussex). First half our defence was lacking, Brighton were playing decent football and we didn't track their runs. They didn't have to work too hard for the two first half goals. We only looked dangerous when Dyer had the ball, there was nothing coming from the right. Second half we picked up the pace, Knocky was good, ran back the length of the pitch to put in a tackle and looked good going forward. There was an air of expectancy of an equaliser in the ground until they got the penalty. I hope that NP can sort out the defence quickly if we want to keep near the top of the league.
cjslcfc Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Burnley at home. 4-4-2. It's our best formation, suits our best players and we play to our best when we play this formation at home. Take Wasyl from RB, positionally he is awful there. Play Moore or De Laet at RB (De Laet if he is fit). Play Vardy as a forward not a hard working winger/forward like he was today. PLAY KNOCKY. And most important of all - ATTACK. Today we started with such a negative shape that it set us up for our own downfall. They had so much width which we couldn't counter with our 4-3-3. It was ridiculous how easy it was for them to cut through us and score their first two. What's the point of going defensive if you're going to let two easy goals like that in!? Wasyl was all over the shop at right back and our best player bar none was left on the bench to watch us serve up a crap first half. Such a frustrating day but next week and the tough run-in, while looking tougher now, may just provide us with the perfect opportunity to make amends against some of the better sides in the division. It's just so annoying because these two games seemed like ones where we could pick up at least a point.

Supply is not the problem. I think supply is the problem in some games mate. You know how I feel. For me, success or failure will lie with our midfield. Though not bad players individually, I believe Pearson sometimes ets us up wrongly away from home, which makes us lose midfield control. If this happens, our strikers get offered fewer GOOD chances AND our defence gets exposed. Thats always been my take on why Pearson's away record is never anywhere near as good as our home record. To set us up today in what seemed like a 4-3-3 was a crazy bit of management IMO. Playing just three across the middle against a team like Brighton who are known for keeping the ball was potty. Truly. Where I agree with you completely is about both of our strikers, especially Nugent, missing many chances that come to him. He seems to have lost his confidence. Why I stick with him is because we all know what a good striker he can be at this level. He has it in his locker. I think its about control of a football match. Brighton had it from the off today. Why? Because we effectively gave it to them with how we set up.
Happy Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 F**King shocking selection from NP starting with Wasyl at RB not starting with Knockaert deserves a f**king headbutt from Mills a wasted game.
funkyrobot Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 All the Pearson haters and management experts appear from under the rock when we lose. The only way to stop you guys moaning is have a 100% win ratio.
Lionheart Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Not getting overly worried just yet but Burnley now is a big game not just because of them being above us but if we lose 3 on the trot going to QPR it will be bad news.We are likely to lose at QPR and if we have beaten Burnley that would not be too bad but if we've lost it will be a nightmare and psychologically could affect the lads with what happened last year.
AndWhat? Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Didn't look anywhere near scoring till Knockaert came on, he really should have started today. I'm sure Pearson had his reasons though and he's got us this far! As long as mistakes are learnt from and we get on with things on Saturday!
