Happy Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I am moaning because quite simply we didn't perform, and NP made some strange decisions why not start Knockaert? Starting Wasyl at RB was criminal? You would wonder if he didn't take heed from what happened Tuesday. We have to show what we are made of the only way we can do that is by beating Burnley and QPR.
ADK Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 If we carry on in this manner we need to sack Pearson, not wait until it is too late.
Callabinho Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Bitterly disappointing performance, that is all...
Strokes Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Hadn't the wheels fallen off Burnley's season before today? They bought a puncture repair kit.
foxfanazer Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 If we carry on in this manner we need to sack Pearson, not wait until it is too late.wow
Happy Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Maybe I am being too harsh but I don't want us to finish in the playoffs we wouldn't cope with the pressure as evident by our performances over the past couple of years. Automatic please!, you can bet your bottom dollar QPR will win the league, with the players and resources they have but we need that 2nd spot anything less would be very disapointing.
pazzerfox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I am just really disappointed with our defending at times. It has been on rare occasions when we have looked completely solid at the back. We conceded 45 goals in season 09/10 season (which is better than the last 3 seasons) when we had Chris Weale in goal, Brown and Hobbs centre back with Berner and Neilson as full backs!!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 So glad i didnt go now. Apparently the defence was a shambles again, mainly due to the overrated Wasi. This really needs looking at as we have hardly kept any clean sheets all season. Can only see a bad run coming now
Russell sprout Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 If we carry on in this manner we need to sack Pearson, not wait until it is too late. That's madness, lost 2 on bounce and should we lose the next(carrying on in this manner) you think we should sack Pearson, That's the most deluded comment I've seen? The pessimists on here should resign from the jobs when they have a couple of shit weeks,or ask to be sacked,or maybe a pay rise and a contract when you have a good few weeks?
dayday Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I just suppose we'll never see eye to eye on Nugent, Col. You can blame supply all you like but we have been creating a hell of a lot of chances. It almost seems rather odd how in most of the games we have lost, we created a whole lot more chances than the opposing teams. Look at Forest, 2 shots 2 goals. Today, 3 shots 3 goals. Wednesday, 2 shots 2 goals. Doncaster 0 shots, 1 goal. Kasper has hardly had anything to do in any of those games but we have still created plenty in them. We had 30 shots against Millwall! Supply is not the problem. Your right supply is not the problem, before the Sheff Wed game we had created the most shots in the league 219.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Your right supply is not the problem, before the Sheff Wed game we had created the most shots in the league 219. To be fair, there's a world of difference between 'chances' and 'good chances'. A shot is still a shot even if its taken from the half way line, but you'll rarely score from it.
LCFC FOX Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Wasyl is a CB not a RB. Hopefully De Laet is back next week against Burnley. I would also bring in a Moore and Morgan CB partnership again. De Laet - Moore - Morgan - Koncheskey
Guest ttfn Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Absolutely fvcking dreadful. I went with a mate who is at Sussex Uni and (unsurprisingly) he couldn't believe that we're top of the league. Awful team selection. We've got the most talented player in the division sitting on the bench for an absolutely critical match for 45 minutes. Madness. Pearson takes full blame for today. Not good enough. At all.
Bilbo Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Wasyl is a CB not a RB. Hopefully De Laet is back next week against Burnley. I would also bring in a Moore and Morgan CB partnership again. De Laet - Moore - Morgan - Koncheskey Agree. This back four has looked the best from all the different variations.
Guest ttfn Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 For me, Pearson should take a lot of the blame for today's performance. His team selection was terrible. We should have learnt our lesson from Tuesday night - where many things were learnt. Our back 4 needed changing, and most vulnerable there would have been Wasilewski. Wasyl has not had a pre-season and he's 33 so it was inevitable that sooner or later he should be rotated out of the side. He was arguably the weakest link on Tuesday where he had a poor game and looked very sloppy and tired. Unfortunately, he carried that in to today and it cost us 3 goals. To add insult to injury was Pearson's decision to move the tiring Wasyl to centre back and Morgan to right back towards the end - which ultimately cost us a penalty and totally killed the game off. Brighton would not have won that penalty if that switch wasn't made, Morgan's positioning was all wrong and Wasyl got his header all wrong too. Secondly, Pearson's decision to drop Knockaert amazes me. He was our only hope and bright spark on Tuesday night until he was 'TACTICALLY' substituted - go figure that one out. He should be the first player on the teamsheet, no matter what formation we play, we need to build our team around him and if we were to get promoted, which is the target, then Knockaert is a player who will hopefully stay with us for years and keep us up there and to build in the future. He is the best player in the Championship in my opinion and he's starts on the bench. Ludicrous. Did Pearson not learn his lesson on Friday night by playing Vardy wide right of a front 3? He didn't drag wide out enough and Wasyl would have no support going forward or backwards, same again today. We looked much more dangerous when Vardy was put up top and Nugent out wide as Vardy actually closes defenders down. As for Nuseless. He really is hopeless, mind you he scored 2 against Ipswich so I'd better keep my mouth shut, the Nugent lovers have a free reign over foxestalk for at least the next 3 months until he scores again. When's Burnley away? Isn't that another one of them grounds he scores at? That's your next hope boys. His touch is garbo, movement poor, work rate pathetic and finishing diabolical. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE SMILE GUYS. We'll beat Burnley. A lot of stuff you post has me cringing in embarrassment. Particularly about Nugent This? Spot on. Great post.
Monsell1976 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I hope I'm wrong, but we have said a lot of what's being said tonight last season. I said Tuesday after the game it had a lot of last season about it, and reminded me of the Peterborough performance at the start of the crisis in confidence, I hope we are stronger, wiser and better than that and this is just a hiccup and get back on track sooner rather than later.
Babylon Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Won't bother reading the thread, I'm sure it just contains the usual stuff. Poor performance, we need to bounce back and soon. I think that's the first time in about a season and a half we have conceded 3 in the league. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Your "level-headed" approach is admirable but today was a complete shambles.
Oxshottfox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Brighton always play like Barcelona against us, it almost feels like we just go there and can play a reserve team and we lose as we make them look so good. They are our bogey 'home' team now. I am a bit surprised they don't do better in the league. Seriously, never expected to win, move on. Let's see what happens in the next game
Babylon Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Depends on whether you count the play-offs of course. Your "level-headed" approach is admirable but today was a complete shambles. I don't.Why be any other way? Did you expect we'd not play badly this season. I predict we'll play worse than that before the end if the season. But it doesn't mean it can't be a good season.

No. But I'm surprised your able to embrace the highs when you're so pragmatic about what we've seen today.
Gazza M Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 In any season a side goes through a bad spell. We have just gone in to ours, but next week at home, I'm sure we can get the three points we need. The defence seems to be the problem at the moment. I think we have looked our most solid with Moore & Morgan at centre half and I would urge Nigel to go back to that as soon as De Laet is fit enough to return at right back. In the mean time I would move Waz back to CB and moore at RB. Knockaert must start week in week out as he offers the most creativity, especially from corners as they have been excellent in the games I have seen. It's also time for a change up top with Wood getting a start ahead of Nugent against Burnley for me. I think we need to offer a bit more creativity and maybe a loan move for Robert Koren from Hull in January may help?
joeasis Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Wasi, nugent and Miguel were all poor for me today. Passing from the whole team was dreadful i think we lack 'bite' in midfield. We need a tough tackling beast like player to play along side drinkwater. Just my opinions, I'm sure others will disagree.
inckley fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I couldn't disagree more with those saying 'there's nothing to worry about'. In 07-08 we turned a proposed promotion charge into relegation, 09-10 we missed out despite making the play-offs, 10-11 we were many's 'dead certs' for a play-off place but bottled it in the spring, in 11-12 we hit the play-offs despite some early season upheaval then fell away, in 12-13 we were inside the top two then collapsed (with pretty much the same team we've got now). So you'd have to have a very short memory not to be worried. On top of that the manager is worried too. On Tuesday he said we didn't work hard enough, today he said we lacked desire while the captain added that he thought teams might have 'sussed' us. Add to that the contractual uncertainties and the fact that our traditional springtime collapse is yet to come... The plus side, for me, is that Pearson IS, unlike the more eternal optimists on here, concerned. And while he almost certainly has made tactical slip-ups over the past two games, a manager who is aware of a problem is better than one who furiously denies it. And, on top of that, ours remains one of the league's better squads on paper. It isn't a disaster yet.
sylofox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 To be fair, there's a world of difference between 'chances' and 'good chances'. A shot is still a shot even if its taken from the half way line, but you'll rarely score from it. Hey col I agree with what you are saying about all shots count. But 219 shots for 29 goals to me with no calculator is about 1.3 goals to every 10 shots. For a top 3 side without checking other stats that seems a little light to me. Then consider our conceeded 1.1 goal a game we really don't need a dip in form either way to drop. We look good sat top/third today but looking at the stats we are very fragile. No I am not over reacting to 2 defeats but we are praps not as good as our position makes us believe. To me Nige has to sort our defence and quick and look to our attack and someone that can finish. If 2 games ago we were top creators our finishing or player judgement is letting us down.
