To be honest pal, that looks more like a list of who you would want to stay, I think reality will be a lot harsher on us.

All of them if we don't go up. (That's not what I necessarily want but the likelyhood in reality)

That's food for thought for the vocal 'we want new contract's and more money' players isn't it.

Dyer and Morgan are the only ones I'm really that bothered about. Konchesky, St Ledger, Danns, Whitbread, Taylor-Fletcher can definitely go. Nugent if he cuts his wages by half then maybe, Schmeichel should have gone in the summer and Waggy won't get a contract but I'd like him to have a chance in the second half of the season to win a contract

Dyer will stay I hope, but he's probably on sensible money anyway.

At this time last year I'd have been devastated to lose Wes, Kasper or Nuge but now I don't think there is anybody on that list who is an absolute must keep. Sure, some will need quality replacements but their collective dip in form hasn't cemented their rights to get bumper new contracts at this stage.

Some of them I do want to keep them at the right price for LCFC based on their current performance levels but a good number are ticking by their best years and moving into the twilight of their careers which could be a late blossoming or a rapid decline, much more of a gamble than when they were mid twenties for sure.

The future is with the younger players at the club so let's not renew the old guard at inflated wages because I'm certain it will p*ss off the post Sven era players that these fellas earn much more.

Kasper - Yes

Morgan - Yes

Wasyl - Yes

Dyer - Yes

Nugent - Maybe (only if he pulls his finger out and shows us why he deserves one)

Konch - Maybe (much lower terms)

Waghorn - Maybe (I want to see him have another chance in the team and see what he can do)

GTF - Maybe (only if we're in the championship next season)

St Ledger - No

Danns - No

Whitbread - NO

The fact is that all those players mentioned could end up going. None of them will get more money, and probably some will be offered less, including NP, when the time comes

What we all have to consider is the fact that the owners will see things from a different perspective than that of the fans. It's all about finance as is the case in all businesses, so we must all wait and see. I for one am not going to speculate.

Why the loss of love for Wes? You crazy!?!?! He might not be Superman at the moment but he still one of the best defenders in the league, who is going to replace him?

Come on mannn!

I think Dyer is the most likely to get a renewal. Morgan, Was and GTF too as I think Morgan, although not at his best, is still important and the other two wont be on big money. I think the rest will start talking to other clubs. I cant imagine Nugent or Konch will take a cut, even though they apparently likes being here.

I think we'd be fools if we dont let Whitbread and St Ledger go.

I think you're mis-understanding our belief he'll leave rather than us offering him a new contract and him accepting. We'd want him and Kasper to stay and probably Nugent but the reality is if we don't go up we won't be able to offer them anything like what they're currently on.

I think you'll find quite a few will be singing contracts with other clubs come January if they are not tied down by us beforehand.

Posted

I think the likelihood is that most on that list will leave.

I'd personally only be bothered about Wes and Dyer leaving, possibly Nugent and Kasper to a lesser extent. The rest haven't really done enough/ been involved recently to warrant one I wouldn't think.

Edit: Oh completely forgot about Konch, i'd definitely give him a new one if we can afford it!

Dyer and Morgan are the big ones, for me.

Pearson's needs sorting first and foremost as a matter of urgency though, we can't be dishing out contracts left, right, and centre when the manager's future isn't set in stone.

Tough call, we're not running away with the league and guaranteed promotion. If we go up then players deserve a chance in the Premier League. If they fail to get us promoted (second year running - not including GTF & WAS) then is it likely they'll get us up the next season? Probably not, so time to look at bringing in some new faces.

Ultimately I think we need to get Pearson signed up again as this will effect a lot of players decisions to leave or not. Also if the 'Sven' era players go Pearson is in a position to finally have his 'own' squad that he has built. At least then the book can finally rest on him.
