surrifox Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 can't think of any straight off the top of my head other than we are handily placed in 3rd albeit with the hot breath of the chasing pack on our collar. There is a feeling of deja vu and a sense that we are running out steam without the exuberance of a Burnley or even Derby. I will travel to QPR this weekend more in hope than expectation need some upbeat thoughts to banish the weltschmerz currently afflicting me - please donate generously
hackneyfox Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Very down at the moment, I'm now expecting a rerun of last season. A decent result on Saturday would jolly us all up just before Christmas but I just cab't see it happening.

A decent result on Saturday would jolly us all up just before Christmas but I just cab't see it happening. It had a lot of last season about it recently, I'm just hoping it doesn't turn out like it.There will be a good turn out from us, seeing though it's a dinnertime kick off, we just need the good leicester to turn up, and produce 90 minutes of good football, and hopefully the result will sort itself out.
Simonb Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 QPR grind out results, and although I fancy a boar draw, if we go with every intention to attack with pace, we have a chance of stealing the points here.... Austin will be a test for our 'shaky' defence though Tbh - most city fans, myself for one, weren't expectant this year, and I though at best mid table would be it for us this year, the only reason I'm currently disappointed is because we got off to a flyer..... we're in a good position, lets get through the next four games, hopefully without loss and be around the same position, then see who we can bring in in Jan (hoping for a RW, Defensive Midfield Beast for games against teams like Sheff Wed etc where we're out muscled, and a striker if the front line don't find form between now and then) We've had some poor games/results lately, we're due a decent patch again nw on current points to games, we're on target to hit 85 points which is usually more than enough to take us up

If we have a great first half like we did at burnley but convert our chances, we'll have more than a shot at this... 90 mins would be nice for a change though

I dont think theres any point in worrying about what happened last season and somehow comparing it to this one. No two football seasons are ever the same are they and to worry that the same thing will happen is irrelevant really. It could but just as easily might not. Its better to concentrate on how we've been playing, the good things and the bad things and what we think Pearson might do to get a win on Saturday. Personally, Im hoping he sets up a side to battle in the middle of the park. James must partner Drinkwater IMO and Vardy needs to be fit and playing well. I just hope that we don't go 4-4-3 with GTF and Nugent partnering Vardy. We would be completely over-run again in the centre. As I said two weeks ago, these difficult games are now coming thick and fast. We will now be seeing, once more, whether Pearson and his squad are good enough.
Jackubu Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 I hope we don't go 443 as well. We'd probably get fined
ealingfox Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 We're 3rd in the league, and could be top after our next game. Over 30,000 people turned up to our last match, a cup quarter-final. Still nobody has won more league games than us this season. Our away form is still better than it has been in previous seasons. We have a settled squad and manager. Our finances are coming into sustainable order. Vardy's been decent this season. Always getting shit refs is benefitting us rather than punishing us more than it ever has before. A difficult run of games and form which bear little reward, lasting around a month to six weeks is so common amongst Championship teams its almost regarded as obligatory. This could very well be ours, and if its out of the way by New Years we will be in a strong position, and can go back to winning 2-1 every week.

I cannot stand people who have a sense of perspective and try to see the big picture. You need to concentrate on your knee-jerk reactions and judging a whole season based on the last half of football you saw. If you still can't find anything to moan about, then what about some of the songs people sing, or other people not singing at all, or you don't like the players we have signed and don't think any of the players we are 'linked with' are good enough? Then you can start on how we were better in the past, how we don't play enough good football, how we don't mix it up and go long when chasing a game, or how Pearson has no plan B and always plays 4-4-2, except when he plays 4-3-3, in which case, why did he not play 4-4-2 and why did he change a winning team? If this isn't enough to moan about, what about the fact Sam Bailey came and sang for us at half time yesterday, when you don't like the X-Factor and she has only lived the last 17 years of her life in Leicester. The kids running around the pitch at half-time are rubbish too and isn't it about time to retire that old bore the Birch? Failing that, let's have a massive campaign to let the club know they are never aloud to retire him...ever !! :xmaslaugh:
