"A million miles away the best team in this division"

We're top of the League so the facts tell us that already, but Sheffield Wednesday might have a different opinion. Let's just stay focused and forget all the sweet-talking.

We're halfway round the course just now and, in racing terms, a lot of horses either fade at the run in or fall at the last. Nothing is decided in sport until the mathematics say otherwise.

So take with a pinch of salt that the team who

"could easily have scored 7" are the best in the league. Think about that one.

Your right, and we might be the best team in the league however we clearly aren't the best by a million miles. I have been a City fan for long enough to know it could all go tits up at the drop of a hat so thats why i said take it with a pinch of salt.

Would you prefer the players and management take it as gospel and not turn up at Millwall?

Living in Nottingham i can safely say I'm not going to boast i support the best team in the league by a million miles as our bubble may burst

I remember Dave Jones saying similar last season.

I remember Warnock saying something similar when we beat Sheff UTD 4-1 (I think it was) when we had the biggest shower of shite playing for us

Is it the truth.

We line up 4-4-2 every week, same eleven, and we still dominate sides. If you don't need to make tactical or personnel changes and still dominate the league....then of course you're the best.

Needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Probably trying to protect his team after conceeded 5 which could easily have been 7

I see what you're saying here and agree to an extent. I think he probably does think we're the best side but the exaggeration shows he's definitely trying to deflect from his own side's performance.

Many of the other managers in the Champ rate us highly, maybe they know what they're talking about.

We're clearly not that much better than several other sides, and it might all be doom and gloom if we struggle in the next few games, but I think it says a lot that we are winning away against teams in the top six.

Currently P3 W3 against the other five teams there at the moment. The Derby game obviously came before their recent upturn but the QPR result was a big statement and Ipswich is the kind of place we often struggle. In 2009/10 we finished 5th and lost away at all four teams that finished above us in the table.

In fact, we've already won more away games against the current top six this season than we did against the final top six in the previous four seasons put together (including 2010/11 when we lost all six, four of them under Sven).

Talking of places we usually struggle at, let's see what the mood is like on here after the Millwall game...

Freedman may also be trying to take a bit of pressure off his team. Their back line must feel terrible about conceding 5 goals, and Freedman definitely does not want them dwelling on this with a lot of difficult games coming up for them.

On the pitch we're the best side. Mentally we are not. That's the only thing that will stop us if anything does.

There's no way to tell which team has the best mentality in the league, but IMO one of the big reasons why this team is doing so well is indeed the team's mentality. This season's team is not all that different from last season's, but Pearson has gotten rid of some dead weight and added a couple veteran role players that can be real leaders. A squad like QPR's is probably better on paper, but do you think players like Assou-Ekotto or Barton could really give two fúcks? Meanwhile, our players have shown real commitment on the pitch. How many times have Leicester fans said "that was the type of game we'd lose last season" following wins in difficult games?

Another example of the the team's solid mentality is the current run they're on. Several players have made no secrets that they're unhappy with their contract situations, yet instead of letting this be a distraction or a downer, they have rolled off three excellent wins in a row.

Although we don't know if Leicester will invest in the squad come January, IMO the biggest threat to City's promotion chances will be injuries. Leicester are still thin on the wings and at left back.

Sorry but he's just a stupid twat.

Obviously we're one of the best teams in the division but to say we're the best by a million miles is retarded. I can't believe some of you actually think he's being honest.

He's saying it to cheer his players and fans up, and to take the pressure off himself. If you lose to the best side in the division by a million miles it sounds better than losing to just anyone, and conceding 5 to just anyone.

The comment is way over the top and makes him look far too desperate to deflect criticism and keep spirits up.

No one in this league is streets ahead. There are a few sides better than the majority, but there's not a lot between them. Hopefully, we'll shade it by May.

It isn't even the oddest thing he said after the game. That was the comment about how you have no option but to attack us. Maybe he didn't see a DVD of our only home league defeat so far this season... Crazy.

Disagree personally - I'd say on paper we're about the 3rd/4th best squad. What we have is a solid manager, consistency and experience of this level together.

Might get hammered for this but I actually think Bolton's squad is stronger than ours on paper.

I know.

We seem to struggle the most when sides sit back, play on the counter, and try to nick a 1-0 win.

Every side which comes here and plays attacking gets destroyed.

I remember when we beat his Palace side 3-0 and he made out they could have won it 3-0 lol He talks a load of shit.

He can't be that clever if he was at Palace and decided to go to Bolton.

The fact it's the Leicester rejects 11 doesn't exactly make me feel the same.

They've got at least 3 first team players who aren't even good enough to get on our bench.

I agree to an extent.

But i also agree with the fact that we underrate our players.

Depends how you define "squad". Same thing with QPR. They both look like a bunch of former Premier League players shoved in a team together and told to get on with it. I'd rather have our lot.
