Doing a Cardiff.

Around this time last year, when we started to fade, Cardiff took the league by the scruff of its neck.

This meant that sides in 2nd, 3rd, 4th ect knew they wouldn't catch them and so focused their efforts on the 2nd spot. I hope we can keep plodding on and doing the same. The media attention will leave and hopefully a lot of pressure with it.

They went on a bad run, they won 1 in 6 or something like that but were still 1st due to being so far ahead in the first place.

Next few games are vital, as are all the games.

Need to learn to deal with media pressure (and I think we have) if we are going to survive the prem anyway. A lot of the other teams fans are already thinking about second place though. Not sure if it helps or not really.

They confirmed promotion at home, under the floodlights against a shit team. If we go up, that's the way to do it.

Absolutely.

Not sure my heart could stand it going to the wire and needing something on the last day.

I remember them going on a poor run. Around the time we got a draw down there. I recall Posh and Brighton beating them at Cardiff City Stadium.

But they had built up an impressive lead points wise. As long as we keep quietly picking up points, there is no reason why we can't do the same.

I'd rather us make a new saying up and "do a Leicester" which means to continue to completely batter teams and score loads of goals.

Yeah, but "doing a Leicester" usually means ballsing it up royally. I'd rather do something else for a change!

That's why I said a new saying, not the old "doing a leicester" which was when we used to fvck it up.

So far we're not really "doing a Cardiff" at all.

We were earlier in the season, but I'm not sure Cardiff ever produced a seminal performance/result like last night's last season apart from beating Forest 3-0 towards the end of last season.

They won the league by grinding out 1-0 wins away from home at upper mid-table and play-off chasing sides (ourselves being an obvious example).

We still have a number of challenging away games between now and the end of the season. Realistically we're not going to win every home game, so promotion and (hopefully) topping this league now is all about what results we can grind out.

Can we combine the flair of last season at home with Cardiff's resilience away? That would be ideal.

Before last season, 'doing a Cardiff' meant fvcking up at the crucial stage as well.

That's the trend then, a few seasons fvcking up, then sort it out and go up.
