Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 13 January 2014 Author Posted 13 January 2014 Really need to win the midfield battle
Leicesterpool Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 I'd take a point even though were hammered by Wednesday on saturday, they are still very strong at home. I know we won on saturday but I'd perhaps change the tactics a little, I notice Leeds struggle more against teams that play on the counter attack style. So team for me GK: Kasper CB: Morgan CB: Moore DM: Hammond RWB: De Laet LWB: Konchesky (If not fit then Schlupp) CM: Drinkwater CM: James AM: Nugent AT: Wood AT: Vardy BENCH: Logan, Wasileswki, Schlupp (Taylor-Fletcher), King, Dyer, Knockaert & Phillips.

We should be ok then as we must be the best counter attacking team in the leagueDef wouldn't leave dyer out! If we are going to counter attack we will need his pace No way would we play that formation

Why would you drop Dyer and Knockaert if you wanted to counter attack?
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 13 January 2014 Author Posted 13 January 2014 Why would you drop Dyer and Knockaert if you wanted to counter attack? Beats me
Dan Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Ignoring what actually happened - we're still better than these and shouldn't let 'oh that'd be typical of us to lose' make us think otherwise. 0-2 win.

Up there with the worst pre match team selections I have seen.
Harry - LCFC Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 I almost don't know why people bother to say which line-up they'd like to see before these games. Apart from LB we all know what the team's going to be. Pearson is usually easy to predict, especially when we're playing well.
Soar Fox Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Leeds are appealing against Matt Smiths red card.

Do you work at being this bloody stupid or does it just come naturally? You'd rip up a successful team, change to an unknown formation and drop a player who is having the season of his life in order to play a counter attacking team when the current set up is tearing through teams at pace: a rather crucial point of counter attacking. The only change that would be remotely sensible would be Schlupp in for Konch if he's out injured.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 I have this niggling feeling that we'll lose this. Not by much, probably by a single goal.
foxfanazer Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Any particular reason Col or just a feeling?

Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 13 January 2014 Author Posted 13 January 2014 Leeds are appealing against Matt Smiths red card. Wasting their time with that
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 It will, I believe, be a close encounter, If we can score first, I feel we wont lose, but this game is the classic "potential banana skin"
harpendenfox Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 The start will be important, or more specifically, the rate at which we can facilitate Lloyd darting into the right hand side of their box. To use an analogy from my other favourite sport, he is close to unplayable at the moment. I felt on Friday the momentum swung our way after about 8 minutes with the first of Lloyd's runs into the box. Another couple quickly followed, and the tone of the match was set. Before that, Derby had been stroking the ball around nicely, albeit without showing much threat. Of course if Leeds try and mark him out of it, that should give le petit general the space to operate
Captain... Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Any particular reason Col or just a feeling? Cos it is typical Leicester, riding high, coming up against a team in poor form that have just been thrashed, previous seasons it's a guaranteed win for Leeds... ...but this season is different. (I hope)

I know it was some game friday night but are you still wrecked FFs We palyed friday and you want us to play counter attacking football without our two wingers and pace men?
purpleronnie Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Of course it won't be easy, there are no easy games in this league..............oh.............wait............. I forgot about Derby.

Of course if Leeds try and mark him out of it, that should give le petit general the space to operate I think they shat themselves when Vardy skinned one of their quicker players so easily despite running with the ball, then Dyer got more involved, that's the exciting thing about this side, you start worrying about one player, that just means you've taken your eyes off one of our other match winners. You try and pack the middle of the park we'll skin you on the flanks, double up on Dyer, RDL and Knocky will do you down the right. Think offense will be the greatest defense? Not with our blistering counter attacking with Vardy. Sit back and soak it up, good luck trying to win the game without the ball. Genuinely excited by this team, just trying to keep my feet on the ground, it is not the defeats that kill you, it's the hope.

I started a thread about how many different dimensions we have to our play. Must be a nightmare to play against!
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Miquel Knockaert Drinkwater James Dyer Nugent Vardy Subs: Logan, Wailewski, Schlupp, Hammond, King, Taylor-Fletcher, Wood Assuming Konchesky is out. XI picks itself (apart from Miquel vs Jeff at LB) but the good thing was that it was hard for me to pick a bench. I couldn't even find a place for guys like Mahrez and even if Phillips arrives, it'll be tough to pick two from him, Wood and GTF as they all offer something different.
Mark_from_USA Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Don't get to see many games but I saw the Derby game. One thing that impressed me was that when they had possession our players were all over them, every single time, even when we were 4-1 up. That is desire and hustle - the mark of a team on a mission. If City go into every game on a mission like that, they will be fine and should keep winning, even away I would expect.
lovelcfc Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 I cant see any of the players taking anything for granted after last season ...
