Matt Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Yes, not as much as I used to though, a few years back i'd get home from work and have atleast 5, usually more bottles/cans of beer every night without fail, aswell as going out on top of that, I saw how easily it could be to slip into alcholism, not that i'm saying I was, i'm not, but it could be a very easy 'habit' to slip into, weight piled on, I realised and stopped and now I very rarely drink at home during the week, I may have the odd one. Infact nowadays I'm not keen on drinking in home, or round someone's house, I like the atmosphere of the pub, and I although I don't drink to get pissed, I can't seem to get pissed on bottles/cans at home.
Wycombe Fox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Not as a rule but I'd be lying if I said never. I was bought some beer for Xmas so obviously I'm not going to take that out with me. Also I like a beer when England are playing on the telly. Same. It numbs the pain
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Goodness, I feel like an alcoholic reading these responses. I drink most nights and far too much if it's any consolation. (not always at home though)
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Generally go out four times a week, have about ten pints of cider then 4-5 doubles to wash it down. Not quite that much though
StanSP Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 I think if you go to the pub and drink on your own that is pretty grim. Pubs are for drinking while socialising and its a rip-off anyway. Id rather have carlsberg at a pound a pint from Iceland and drink at home. There's a reason why it's a pound a pint!
AnotherShitSeason Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 That would perhaps account for the depressive, pessimistic outlook. I see myself more as a drunken visionary. Then again I'm pissed as **** right now.
jonthefox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 I do on fridays , Just a habit really. The rest of the times its the pub or i just don't bother.
Unabomber Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Wots that!! Beer from small generally independent breweries. I drink mainly belgian and german beers.
Dr The Singh Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Beer from small generally independent breweries. I drink mainly belgian and german beers. Sounds good, i live near a pub thats owned by a micro brewery, some stuff is good some is poor
Webbo Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Sounds good, i live near a pub thats owned by a micro brewery, some stuff is good some is poor There used to be a bar at The Meridian that brewed it's own. I tried some once and it was mank.
Unabomber Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Sounds good, i live near a pub thats owned by a micro brewery, some stuff is good some is poor Nice one, at the minute I am big in to certain styles so I know that I will like the beer. Sometimes I have picked beers at random though and they haven't been great. There's a couple of pubs in Leicester that are stocking good Belgian/German selections so it is definitely catching on.

My taste buds aren't so refined, so it can be abit random for me, love german beers also.

Yeah, the one near me can be abit like that, some are great, and sometimes I hate the foookers for changing it and replacing with something shit!
Rincewind Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Beer Fest starting at the Kings Head next Thursday. He wanted to get in some unusual beers but the breweries are not doing them this time of year. He has got beers that he has not had before though. they said they will do the menu in the next few days so I will post it. he has also done some alcoholic ginger beer but he is not allowed to sell it unless he pays duty on it. Good stuff though.

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 I voted yes, but do very rarely - confined to xmas or when people are over. Should be sub answers to 'Yes' and 'No'!
Dr The Singh Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 If you ever see any bottles of schneider weisse definitely try it. Will do, thanks for the heads up
Rincewind Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Are panj pani sponsoring it or subsiding the drinks? I doubt it. They do not allow the promotion of alcohol or drugs on the radio. The ones that run it are NON-DRINKING Sikhs. As the station is to raise awareness in mental illness I can understand that.
Guest ttfn Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 I probably have a bottle or two of beer a night at home. I find it relaxes me after a tough day. I've got no problem drinking on my own at home (whether there are other people there or not). Dare I say it, is it a class thing? There's a theory that there's a good chunk of your upper-middle and middle class are undiagnosed alcoholics, ploughing through a bottle of red a night.

One Legged Beaver Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 At the house I live in at Uni I do (obviously), but back I home we just tend to go out to a pub or something to drink so very rarely drink in the house.
Lamby Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Nope, only did at Christmas and that's about it. Pubs are soo much better with atmosphere and what not.
