Whereabouts are you going in Cyprus CF? I go nearly every year for 2 weeks in July. My favourite holiday destination. Currently in Zante and after a couple of days of being cloudy, it's been bloody lovely today 28 degrees. Had to take myself of the beach as I was burning, found a lovely little bar that was selling Mythos 500ml bottles for €2.

King Jason looks nice mate.good name for a hotel .We are staying at the princess Courtney! No it's Louis Phaethon Beach Resort or something like that.Going 28th May so hopefully the temperature is just right for my Anglo Saxon skin!
James. Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 Given you're all inclusive you may not be too fussed about leaving the hotel but just in case I'd recommend the following day trips / restaurants / things to do. My Mum and partner live just outside Paphos so have been there loads of times. 1. Troodos mountains - great views, beautiful mountain villages, nice way to get some fresh air after the heat at sea level 2. Fat Mama's - genuinely good Tex Mex / Italian food, one of my favourite restaurants in Paphos plus they do cabaret style shows throughout the evening. Great for kids and special occasions. 3. Harbour area - really nice part of Paphos with some old ruins and decent seafront bars, cafes and restaurants. Touristy but still worth going to. 4. Famagusta - interesting day trip excursion. Part of it is a ghost town after the Turkish invasion in the 70's. Here's an article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25496729 5. Kourion - old ruins, again a decent day trip if you like that sort of thing 6. The Last Castle - think you need a 4 wheel drive to get up there but this is a great restaurant, bit of a hidden gem with amazing views. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g190384-d785166-Reviews-Viklari_The_Last_Castle_Peyia-Paphos_Paphos_District.html

Only got here on Sunday and as the weather wasn't the best yesterday not had a lot of time to look around as of yet. Where abouts you staying? We're in Laganas a nice quiet couples hotel on the beach.

Grandad. Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 G-Spot, Cherry Bay, Cocktails and Dreams, Rescue and Zeros are the only things you want to be doing in Laganas! Avoid Wyakiki..

Decent place is Zante. Off to Spain next Sunday for a week, multiple ales by the pool for 7 days...ideal!
ScouseFox Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 haha yes it is cocktails and dreams. the place dreams are made. and bones are broken. any need for that many steps really! zante is still the best holiday i've ever been on. sometimes wonder if maybe it's the best because it was the first "boys" holiday but not sure, it just seems so much better than malia etc.

Doubt it would top Ibizia! Worse beach in the world though Laganas!

Worse beach in the world though Laganas! i never got to the beach in the daytime, we stayed about 10 minutes from the strip and spent most of the day either a kip or dying by the hotel pool/bar. i heard it was shit though and that was enough to convince us lot that bed was a better option i'd love to go back but think it wouldn't be the same as the first time. going to miss a proper "lads" holiday this year mind, treking europe instead which will be just as fun but not the same. n

Amazing hotel.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 Just had a week in St Ives, Cornwall Lovely jubbly
ScouseFox Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 We stopped at the Christina Studios, same about 10 minutes away! Amazing hotel. haha someone i know stayed there. we stayed in the borsalino apartments, it was shit, we got robbed (pretty sure it was by the owners but we caught them in the act and told the to fúck off which they did), nothing in the room worked, the fúcking front door broke one day and we couldn't get out unless we jumped off the balcony, but it was the best place on the island as far as we were concerned. probably the best week of my life haha.

All of this is spot on. I never saw the beach during the day, the pool and it's bar were much better. Did go in the sea at around 5am - walked back to the hotel in nothing but my boxers carrying my clothes - I must have been wrecked as I'd never normal do something like that.
