Guest Kopfkino Posted 2 June 2014 Posted 2 June 2014 I'd love to do something like that. My grandparents had a narrow boat when I was growing up, spent many a summer holidays travelling around on it with them. Yeah my grandad had one and every August Bank holiday before going back to school we used to travel around and as a kid it was all novel and great fun. Think I'd quite like to do it with a couple of mates. Hire a boat for a few days, not really knowing what we were doing, would be a laugh and there's always some decent watering holes along side a canal

Krakow is one of the best cities in Europe for the swig and them Polish know how to put some piss away. I'm in trouble. Cornwall for a week in September, the missus family is paying. Sweet. Guest Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 So far this year I've been Berlin, Dublin and Mayrhofen for Snowbombing. Off for the Goldcoast Oceanfest in North Devon in a couple of weeks. Then hopefully Chicago later In the year. Lovely stuff
David Guiza Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Has anybody ever used Atlaschoice as a car hire? They're ridiculously less expensive than most, but after a quick google it's very hit and miss.
Unabomber Posted 3 June 2014 Posted 3 June 2014 Think I will just be going to Amsterdam sometime in October and then Hamburg this year. Tempted to a European city for a few nights in December too to check a legit Christmas market out.
Grandad. Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 This isn't for this year but for next summer, no point starting a new thread. But has anyone ever heard of a lads holiday to Florida? Obviously it can be done, but just seeing if people on here have been with friends or just with their families or partners. A few of my mates have suggested it, as we're all working we can afford it and the selling point was there is always something to do in the days apart from just get leathered in your hotel, but is there a nightlife in Florida (not Miami) for lads or not? Thinking of getting our own villa/house out there, hire a car and do that kind of holiday.
Raj Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 went florida with Mrs befor any kids. Id think itd be great with older kids...likewise would think itd be great for a bunch of lads..especially if they like theme parks!!! plenty of nightlife there too if i can remember
BoneDog Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 Looks like Filey, Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby again for us this year. Not been for 3 years. They better have some karaoke on again so I can tear it up. I've not been abroad for about 13 years, it's just not fair, but all you can do is suck it up cos nobody gives a f*&k. Sometimes feel like getting an ASBO so I can go to Bratcamp, but I've got responsibilities.
Ozwin Posted 15 June 2014 Posted 15 June 2014 Going to try and get a late deal with the lady friend somewhere in early September. Any suggestions? After a beach holiday really, obviously somewhere hot and sunny, just to relax for 5 days/a week.

Enjoyed it too, especially Whitby. Off to St. Ives in early September.
Merging Cultures Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Croatia is lovely. I am off to Amsterdam next week. Then at the end of July we are going to USA, Jamaica and then Leicester. This is going to be a good few months.
Vardinhio Posted 27 June 2014 Posted 27 June 2014 I wouldn't mind booking a few weeks in Thailand/Aus at the end of next year but I can't work out if part of me would just be doing it to conform to the "social norm" which is "travelling" these days or if they are indeed actually as great as people make out. People who have been definitely seems to hold some kind of stigma over those that havn't, wierd eh.

There's no point going if you just feel that you should rather than actually wanting to. Although I guess if you knew the answer to that question then you wouldn't be having this dilemma Sat on Ostrava platform in the Czech Republic as my train to Katowice (and then on to Krakow) has been delayed.

No I do want to go for sure, especially to Oz at some point. It's just that I have a few friends on facebook who basically make out that living in Sydney is absolutely bloody amazing and that we are all crazy for being over here. Maybe they are right? Who knows? . I guess if you are going to make such a jump then you have to believe in it eh.

I lived in Sydney for quite a while when I did my travelling, lived in a flat with about 8 other Brits for 3 months over xmas & nye 1999/2000. Superb city, had a great time but it was a little expensive. The flat we rented was in an area called Redfern, which had a bad reputation, but was very close to the city centre so made a good base for seeing the city. 2nd time I stayed in Sydney we were staying in tents in a campsite near to the airport. Seem to remember meeting an ex-pat from Leicester in the local pub. Happy days. A bit off the beaten track when it comes to going to Oz but Tasmania is worth a visit. We did a tour of the island, its a 12 hour ferry journey from Melbourne. Well worth it and a bit different from the big cities.
jonthefox Posted 27 June 2014 Posted 27 June 2014 As well as Turkey in 2 weeks , I'm now going to Salou three weeks later . Happy holidays kids.
Webbo Posted 1 July 2014 Posted 1 July 2014 Off to the airport now for a fortnight in Tenerife, can't wait to get there.
