jonthefox Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 Middlesbrough (H) WIN Birmingham (A) DRAW Bournemouth (A) WIN Watford (H) WIN Forest (A) LOSE 10 points. Half a day off work, £25 a ticket ,£20 petrol and leaving my car in a shithole. I'm not going there just to bloody draw. Iv'e told Nigel Pearson this.
Russell sprout Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 When was the last time we won 3 league games in a row away from home? I think we' ll add to the good run meself, Boro win 3-1 Brum win 2-0 B'mouth win 2-1 Watford win 2-0 Forest draw 1-1
smudger63 Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 So its mid-January now, and I think we are reaching the point of in season now where it can really go two ways. Either we open up a commanding lead on the title, or the chasing pack start to catch us up. Looking at the next 5 games, there are some tough away games thrown in, but none of the teams are really having a ground-breaking season. So realistically, what would you like to take from the next 5 games? For me the two home games are must wins and I would like to see at least 4 points minimum from the 3 away games. On our day, we should win them all, but I think Forest away in particular may be a banana skin. What would you be happy with? Middlesbrough (H) Birmingham (A) Bournemouth (A) Watford (H) Forest (A) OMG! Here we go again! We had one of these threads last season before the Peterborough game, with most saying how we had got easy games coming up, and would be pretty much be sealing our promotion. Que a run of 2 wins in 17. Can`t we just take one game at a time? There are no easy games in this division, as shown by us losing this season against Doncaster, Charlton and a Sheffield Wednesday that had previously won just one game all season, at the time of us playing them. Lets enjoy the run we are on, and hope that it continues, but try not to look forward too far, and don`t start thinking that we`ve cracked it, and it`s all just plain sailing from now to the end of the season. After 40 years of going down the City, i know that we never do anything the easy way!
Nalis Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 If you look at our fixtures up to the end of February, Middlesbrough (H) Birmingham (A) Bournemouth (A) Watford (H) Forest (A) Ipswich (H) now look at Burnley & QPR Burnley v Brighton & Hove Albion Q P R v Burnley Burnley v Millwall Bolton v Burnley Bournemouth v Burnley Burnley v Nottingham Forest Q P R V Bolton Q P R v Burnley Derby County v Q P R Q P R v Reading Charlton Athletic v Q P R Could well maintain or even increase the 5 point gap. Interesting point, I have therefore thrown my two cents into the games listed above: Middlesbrough (H) DRAW Birmingham (A) LOSS Bournemouth (A) WIN Watford (H) WIN Forest (A) LOSS Ipswich (H) WIN 10pts now look at Burnley & QPR Burnley v Brighton & Hove Albion WIN Q P R v Burnley LOSS Burnley v Millwall WIN Bolton v Burnley WIN Bournemouth v Burnley DRAW Burnley v Nottingham Forest DRAW 11pts Q P R V Bolton WIN Q P R v Burnley WIN Derby County v Q P R LOSS Q P R v Reading WIN Charlton Athletic v Q P R DRAW 10pts So the above would effectively keeps us 5pts above Burnley and QPR, with QPR having a game in hand. I'd happily take that come the end of February!

conLAD logan Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 8-10 points would be acceptable, anything more would be brilliant.
Simonb Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 Middlesbrough (H) WIN Birmingham (A) DRAW Bournemouth (A) WIN Watford (H) WIN Forest (A) LOSE 10 points. same

Most think we will drop points, and Im glad that people think that. Hopefully means there wont be massive uproar and panic when we do eventually lose. In previous seasons, people predicted we would walk it, this season people seem far more reserved.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 Middlesbrough (H) 3 points Birmingham (A) 3 points (Think we will lose) Bournemouth (A) 3 points Watford (H) 3 points Forest (A) 1 point
Xen Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 Boro - Draw Birmingham - Win Bournemouth - Draw Watford - Win Forest - Loss 8 points. Though I couldn't decide between Win/Draw against boro. I'd happily take a point at forest. Can see one of Burnley/QPR doing similarly, with the other getting around 11. Would leave us ~3 points clear at the top with a ~6pt cushion over third.
MGLCFC Posted 18 January 2014 Posted 18 January 2014 Hate predicting - one game at a time, what we could do and what we actually achieve could be poles apart. I remember last season we had what looked on paper 5 easy games and I think we picked up 2 points, losing at home to Charlton and Sheff Wed in that sequence.
cjslcfc Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Middlesbrough (H) 3 points Birmingham (A) 3 points (Think we will lose) Bournemouth (A) 3 points Watford (H) 3 points Forest (A) 1 point You do realise it's 0 points for a loss, right?
MC Prussian Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Yep, predicting a handful of games is dangerous. Let's be fair and say threads of this kind wouldn't pop up if we were playing badly. They are signs of fans getting a bit ahead of themselves. Let's take one game at a time. I've stopped with wishful thinking scenarios and am simply thankful for where we are at the moment. There's 20 games to go and they won't be easy.
deanolegend1989 Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 I think: Boro (H) Lose. 0-1. Smash and grab. Birmingham (A) Draw. 1-1 Poor result. Bournamouth (A) Win. Back on track 2-3 thriller. Watford (H) Win. 2-1 Solid win. Forest(A) Draw. 2-2 cracking atmosphere and a game that could go either way. 65 points after 31 games. well on course.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Middlesbrough (H) Lose 1-2 Birmingham (A) Draw 0-0 Bournemouth (A) Win 1-3 Watford (H) Win 2-0 Forest (A) Draw 2-2 8 points for me
Dan Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Middlesbrough (2-1 win) Birmingham (1-1 draw) Bournemouth (1-2 win) Watford (1-1 draw) Forest (1-1 draw) Think we're going to drop a few points.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 QPR v Burnley is the key, if we can maintain our current game and then win when they play each other that will be massive
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 I take one game at a time, but I think the next half dozen will prove a fine indicator of how we end up. Really can only afford to lose one and draw one.i agree DT one game at a time
