Wheres the 'Pearson Tactically wrong' post?

It would be great if all the ‘anti-Pearsonites’ came on here and admitted that they were clowns, and that they had absolutely no idea what they were talking about.

But it’s clearly never going to happen.

All the unreasoned, short-sighted, spiteful and ignorant posts came from unreasonable, short-sighted, spiteful and ignorant people. I’m not having a go, it’s just a fact of life that stupid people say stupid things.

To expect those people to come on here and say “I’ve taken a long hard look at myself, and have learnt from my mistakes†is also unreasonable.  If they had the capacity for intelligent thought and self-development, they wouldn’t have been saying such silly things in the first place.

Bear in mind that it’s taken a run of 9 wins in 9 games to shut them up. A draw against Watford and they’ll all be back telling us that ‘clueless’ is ‘tactically inept’ and that Neil Warnock is the answer.

Leave them be. (In their caves).

You're another one, seriously need to have a word with yourself.

Nobody said he never did anything wrong, people like yourself digging at everything about the man from his tactics to his face to his choice in trainers is what winds people up and now you're getting told how wrong you are you try and make out like you just posted constructive criticism lol it's laughable. You wanted him gone, not even given a chance to learn from his mistakes, just man up and admit you wouldn't know the signs of a decent manager if it smacked you in the face and we can put this to bed lol

A little aggressive and not too constructive ..... And you wonder why people stop posting???

Just read what I've said rather than what you want me to have said so that you can blow a gasket.

And don't get too angry at work ..... noone likes their fries burnt.

I am a clown and i don't know what I'm talking about.

I also saw a disastrous run of football with a a manager that didn't seem to have a clue how to change that and made my views know on a "forum".

Over the course of this season the same manager has addressed every issue i had with him last season ..... therefore I have changed my mind. I'm not sure why that brings with it such vitriol ..... Maybe you'd rather people keep the same opinions forever whatever the changing landscape around them??? That seems more ridiculous to me.

I just hope, that NP is given some rope, when he gets us promoted.

Expectancies not to run over the top, even if we stay in the premiership.

If we at this stage next year are in the bottom part of the division, we still back and

keep NP.If we want to see any type of success at city we need a manager who can give

us the next 3-5 years.

For me success would be staying + playing in the Premiership, with a descent brand of football,

anything else that comes along is gravy. One would also hope also that our ownership management

Status stays stable and ambitious (within reason), and not be fly by nights.

Me too .... finally a comment worth discussing .... Personally I think any manager that got a team promoted deserves the right to see out a season. The reality, I suspect, is that he will get to Christmas.

Seriously though, imagine a TV series following a group of FT posters like seenitall, 5waller5, ibbosuk, Ricky Hill, Swiss_tony, flowwolf, AnotherShitSeason or red5 in charge of managing a football club (even if it was only non-league).

The mayhem. lol

In my playing / managing days that would have been great fun. It would have made great tele!

I've just read back through the thread.

Christ on a bike there was some hostility!

Even BTS had given up!

At least it demonstrates how people were thinking then. And relatively few appear to have said, with hindsight, that they were being hasty.

Ha ha ..... nooooooooooooo, even that fookin happy clapper? Think I said I was teetering but was always an advocate of stability? :P

I would love someone who had been on a space station for the last 2 years, with no sporting info at their disposal, to guess how we were actually doing this season! COYB

As one of those who continually campaign for the removal of NP,must now commend him on the part he has played in the current campaign even though I still have reservations about his tactical awareness.

what does Pearson have to do? Please tell me? Tactically outwitted a former England manager, Harry redknapp and Martin jol and were 10 points clear so his tactics must shit

If your comment came in the realm of our barren run last season (February/March/April), then I would definitely concur.

This season, however, I don't see how you can fault him for managing a team that has won 21 games out of 29 so far.

I don't think it is unreasonable to have stated in the past that Pearsons tactics haven't always been spot on. In terms of spotting talent and nurturing it and building a squad of ambitious players, the management here are clearly some of the best in the business, which in the past is why we turn to tactics to blame for poor results.

Pearson is clearly a bright man and like most people, over time he is getting better at his job and fulfilling his potential and tactical decision making is one area which he has clearly improved on. Thank god the owners kept the faith in nige

This is the point where the other half on here have their fingers in their ears going la la la la la.

It's easy to forget that on here (a lot of the time) you are dealing with football manager obsessed children & the type of people who would rather post hilarious GIFs of cats shouting 'You Suck' etc come the end of season.

You can read back on this thread & see the ones that are already (literally) wetting themselves at the prospect.

I'll meanwile be on the beach in Cabo sipping Gran Centenario Leyenda by day. And plotting the season ahead on from my beach hut laser planning board by night.

I still think that had we got someone more experienced post Sven we would have gone up quicker - sure we may have come straight back down but we would have been a stronger side and not so hamstrung by FFP - so it was a balls up abandoning the plan and although we look like we are on the way up now at last, there are very few of the current team who will make the grade in the Prem meaning a rebuild of Palace type proportions is on the cards. Whether NP has the ability to do that or the skills to manage a team of higher paid players will remain to be seen - good for him if he can but we are a good 7 or 8 players short of a Prem team and as for a squad????

To sum it up and then I'm off because the mod thing seems unfair - it has taken him four years almost to be tactically aware of what is needed to get out of the Championship (probably) he will get around 12 games in the Prem I reckon and then if not cutting it be the next Holloway - the fact that no new Prem standard players were brought in during the window shows that we lack the belief that we are going up at board level and will necessitate a full rebuild in the summer, something I think NP will struggle with as there is bound to be a belief amongst Prem standard players that we will collapse and go back down - still I'm sure Top and Susan know what they are doing so COYB

I would actually suffice if the ones who were criticizing Pearson last season (and even before that) could be honest and straightforward enough to admit that they were wrong and that it was all just personal.

Sadly, some continue with their spiteful vitriol and will therefore remain prone to the odd (sarcastic) reaction.

And you know something will be coming, because you and your fellows have been asking for it. For weeks, months, if not longer.

But you are old enough not to care - so why bother? I hope you'll be mature enough to suck it up.

Oh, and cat GIFs are awesome.

It's almost like people don't read things on here. Nobody was happy with that run of forum, almost everyone had doubts about him. But peoples problems with certain posters don't have much to do with their comments around that run of form.

It stems back a long time to him first returning for many, and has more to do with the pathetic, vindictive shit they threw at him. They now talk about others only seeing things in black and white, when that's exactly the stance they took previously by blaming everything on him.

Why do you think someone else would have taken us up? The collection of players Sven put together has never proved themselves worthy of doing so here, or elsewhere since the majority went.

You keep going on about 4 years to try and make your argument look good, so far since his return he's had two thirds of a season with a team I doubt anyone but you thinks now was good enough, one full season in which two thirds was pretty bloody good with an awful final third, and this season, in which so far we have dominated.

His other time here included a promotion and a loss in the play offs first year back. Again, only you seem to class that season as a failure first season back in this league. Had he not been bombed out, then maybe he wouldn't have needed the time to completely rebuild another squad capable of challenging at the top end.

Whether somebody else instead of Pearson would've taken us up is all hypothetical.

I've just looked at Pearson's stats again and for a manager with little previous (top-flight) experience, before taking on the Leicester City FC job, a currently combined winning percentage of more than 50% is, frankly, outstanding.

People comparing Pearson to other managers, to their favorites, aren't really fair on the guy. The managers others have been suggesting are much more experienced, in parts even in managing on Premier League level.

And no - it did NOT take him four years to figure it all out. He had to start from scratch again, after taking over the mess Eriksson and the management of that time left behind. That leaves roughly two years and a couple of months. I'd like you to tell us all which manager would have done a better job at getting the club back to where we find ourselves now.

Also, thank you for believing in the manager and the players that we have, ignoring that, with a couple of smart additions, we could actually cope at the highest level.

Higher-paid players don't automatically mean they are better. Pearson has formed a team, a unit. Individuals, who think they're better than the whole and/or who don't justify their (bloated) market value with appropriate displays on the pitch are quickly singled out and shipped out at the earliest moment possible - as seen with Beckford or Mills, for instance.

That's a sane and economical approach and many other clubs should take it as a example in efficiency.

lol good one, trust me, there's a very, very strong likelihood  I have a better job than you.  given you don't know no one is two words actually I'd say it's a certainty.

I've read what your posts, I even remember reminding you of one where you systematically dismantled every part of Pearsons persona from trainers to personality to tactics.

I don't wonder why people stop posting, this place could do with fewer members, to many idiots, please feel free to stop posting.

I'm not convinced we'd have gone up quicker or that we'd necessarily have benefitted from going up quicker. Sven left so many problems from what was a fundamentally disappointing chapter that any and every manager would have taken time to rebuild. Most any team in contention for promotion would potentially need some serious fine-tuning but I've seen no evidence to suggest we won't compete if and when the time comes.

It's no use thinking any team can climb into the Premiership with a ready-made Premiership team because scouting systems, television and the availability of funds mean that mos anyone good enoug for the Premiership is likely to be playing there pretty quickly.

We've already had people sniffing around for some of our players and it's to the clubs credit we've resisted such overtures and that as much as anything suggests the club is definitely contemplating and preparing for top flight football and I don't think our still improving team will likely let us down or that Nigel Pearson will either let them or will be naive enough not to make substantial improvements.

A lot of our 'fans' were on his back from the off last season. Seemed like a slow start (3 defeats in the opening 5 games) set a tone out for the season of waiting for him to fail. I really didn't enjoy a lot of last season truth be told.

The start of last season was brilliant. From half-time at Charlton until the home game against Palace two months later we played the best football I've seen from a City side until the last couple of months.

Pearson should have got us promotion last year! Fact!

Pearson will get us promotion this year. Fact!

Why? because he is undoubtedly much improved as a manager. Fact!

He is better now than he was last year, or the year before that or the year before that. Fact! Full Stop!

Anyone who does not comprehend that will comprehend nothing.
