Fox42 Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Anyone who went scribble down how well we did in numbers? Stuck in Wales
DennisNedry Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper - 6 De Laet - 8 Wes - 7 Waz - 8 Schlupp - 7 Dyer - 3 Drinkwater - 7 James - 8 Knockaert - 5 Nugent - 7 Vardy - 8 Ipswich - 2
nlukka Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper 7 - largely untroubled. Kicking was a bit wayward at times. RDL 8 - good defensively and got an assist too Marcin 8.5 - BEAST. Morgan 8 - See Marcin Schlupp 8 - barely put a foot wrong all game. Knocky 7 - good work-rate, won the ball back well Drinky 8 - calm, controlled and composed James 8 - another very good game, got stuck in nicely Dyer 6.5 - would have liked him to run at their fullback at bit more, but a decent game otherwise Vardy 9 - incredible work-rate today, absolutely superb. He makes Paul Dickov look lazy. Nugent 8 - terrible, only scored one goal. Definitely needs to be dropped. Wood 7 - glad he scored, he needed that. Mahrez 6 - not bad, some nice touches and defended well Phillips N/A
lcfcliam Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper 8 - Barely had a thing to do, some dodgy kicks but did everything when needed. Ritchie De Laet 7 - Very good today IMO, good going forward and backwards today. Wes Morgan 9 - Thought him and Was worked very well today. Marcin Wasilewski - 8 See Wes. Jeff Schlupp- 7 Good attacking threat Anthony Knockaert 7 - Good skill, not the most spectacular of games but did nothing wrong. Matty James 8 - Another top performance from him Danny Drinkwater 8 - Same as James, working really well together and looked very good going forward. Lloyd Dyer 5 - Few odd things he did was good but he looks very tired I think, he almost looks scared to go forward at sometimes. David Nugent 9 - Fantastic performance, chasing down all of the time and got a goal. Jamie Vardy 9 - I don't know what has happened to this man he is incredible MOM. Subs: Mahrez 7 - Created good chances and looked threatening. Phillips 6 - Wasn't really on long enough but helped create Wood's goal. Wood 7 - Same as Phillips except he got the goal! Didn't do anything wrong.
elangLCFC Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper - 7 not a lot to do really, solid and excellent distribution for the first goal RDL - 7 solid at the back, good attacking threat, lovely bit of skill to get past two men, nice assist Wes - 7 again, rock Was - 8 bossed the air, can't remember him getting beaten once and used his strength very well without committing fouls Schlupp - 7 (lots of 7s today), was very impressed, put kasper in a couple of tough spots but gave us a good threat going forward Knocky - 6 didn't really come off for him today but he tried very hard and had a few nice passes, defensively very good which is nice to see James - 8 won the ball back a lot and looked assured throughout Drinky - as above Dyer - 6 used his pace on a dry pitch but is starting to look like he's running out of ideas, better today than last two games. Mahrez to start next match Nugent - 8 got his usual goal vs Ipswich, looked like he own lots of headers and linked play very well. Gets an extra point for brilliant work keeping the ball in for vardy's goal Vardy - 8motm annoyed defenders throughout, chased a lot of lost causes and created problems. Very very good finish, won't get the credit it deserves Couldn't see the subs as they were all attacking players at the opposite end to me. Mahrez looked solid defensively and nice for wood to score
kingfox Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Schmeichel 6 - Kicking was terrible at times, no saves to make hardly De Laet 7 - Good attacking display, but gave the ball away a few times Morgan 8 - Solid performance, hardly troubled Wasilewski 8 - Same as Wes really, thought he did well in the air in particular Schlupp 7 - Few mistakes, but all in all a very decent performance Knockaert 7 - Worked hard, few good things, nothing spectacular James 7 - Has had much better games, comfortable performance Drinkwater 8 - Controlled the midfield from start to finish, looked very comfortable Dyer 5 - Poor game unfortunately Nugent 7 - Worked hard, wasn't great, but got a goal, so no point moaning Vardy 9 - MOTM, instrumental again, his work rate is World Class
Dickov22 Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper 7 Not troubled at all De Laet 8 Really good performance. Solid and excellent for Nugent's goal Morgan 7.5 Standard Wes Wasilewski 8.5 Best of the back 4. So strong Schlupp 7.5 His distribution and forward play is superior to Konchesky's. Ipswich didn't trouble him Dyer 5 Looks low on confidence. Had a mare James 8 Dominant, got forward well. Drinkwater 8 As above. WHAT A PAIR Knockaert 6.5 Full of effort but didn't make much of an impact Nugent 7.5 Some lovely touches. Played his part in Vardy's goal too Vardy 9 MOTM as usual. His confidence is sky high. Classy finish for his goal. A nightmare for the Ipswich defence At times it was like a training match. Ipswich are woeful Pleased for Wood. Once again looked sharp and used his strength for the goal well
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper - 6 De Laet - 7 Wes - 7 Waso - 7 Schlupp - 7 Dyer - 5 Drinkwater - 7 James - 7 Knockaert - 6 Nugent - 7 Vardy - 8
ScouseFox Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper 6 - poor kicking second half, but I think a big quick punt to nuge led to our first RDL 7 - great for the second Morgan 8 Wasyl 8 - both just huge Schlupp 7 - surprisingly well played for the majority Dyer 5 Drinkwater 8 James 8 Knocky 6 - good defensively but not much came off going forward. covered well for Schlupp and RDL Nuge 7 - got his goal Vardy 8.5 - king of the world
foxesfan98 Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Schmeichel - 6 De Laet - 7 Wasilewski - 7 Morgan - 7 Schlupp - 8 Knockaert - 6 Drinkwater - 8 James - 8 Dyer - 5 Nugent - 7 Vardy - 8 Mahrez - 7 Wood - 7 Phillips - N/A
Bert Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper 6 - Had nothing to do really. Shit kicking. RDL 7 - Had a great game bar a minor lapse in concentration. Did very well for the second. Schlupp 7 - Quality performance. Didn't put a foot wrong. Morgan 8 - Very dominant. Wasyl 8 - Same as Wes. Dyer 5 - Lacking confidence. Hope the miserable twats that slate him to the hills are happy. Knockaert 7 - Put a tireless shift in and was always a threat. Drinky 8 - Another fantastic display from him. James 8 - Got well stuck in and gave Drinky the freedom he needs to control the game. Vardy 9 - Unplayable for most of the game. Tireless chasing down throughout and his goal epitomises the player he is and how his season has been. Fantastic finish. Nugent 7 - In the right place at the right time to score, links the midfield and defence so well. Mahrez 6 - Didn't do an awful lot, but he did well enough. Wood 7 - Delighted for him to score a well taken goal. That's what he's all about. Must be a massive weight off his shoulders. Looks sharp.
Guest ttfn Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Schmeichel 5 - Nothing to do, but his distribution in the second half was atrocious - the worst I've ever seen from him. De Laet 7 - As ever a critical part of our attacking play and did pretty ok defensively against Hunt. Morgan 7.5 - Never looked unduly troubled despite the two big lumps Ipswich had up front. Wasilewski 7.5 - As Wes. Schlupp 7.5 - The best I've seen him at left back. Defensively solid (!) and predictably useful going forward. Knockaert 6 - Not his day. Defensively diligent, but he's a touch out of form at the moment. James 7.5 - Busy and moves the ball quickly. Another good game. Drinkwater 8 - Bossed the midfield (assisted by James). Everything seems to go through him. Dyer 4.5 - I like Lloyd and he ran his socks off today, but deary me his use of the ball was poor. Needs a rest. Nugent 7.5 - Good energy and use of the ball. Vardy 9 - Outstanding. His second half run after intercepting an Ipswich pass with his back to goal and running half the length of the pitch before producing a great cross was unbelievable. subs: Mahrez 5.5 - He looks like he's got something about him and is certainly faster than Knockaert, but he just didn't get involved enough. Wood 6 - I've been calling for him to start but you can see that he's not quite there yet. He didn't look sharp at all but took his goal excellently. Phillips N/A

bluebeau Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 For those of you that are asking the question, "What has happened to Vardy this season", the answer is plain to see. He got rid of that stupid hairstyle & hasn't looked back since!
VLC86 Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 For those of you that are asking the question, "What has happened to Vardy this season", the answer is plain to see. He got rid of that stupid hairstyle & hasn't looked back since! But he had that when he scored arguably his best goal of the season against Boro away
Alf Bentley Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper 6 - Had nothing to do really. You're rubbish in General Chat, but Cock of the bloody North (or Midlands) in the LCFC forum! Excellent comments and wouldn't change your markings by more than 0.5 for any player. The minor nuances: - 7.5 for Wes; Wasyl had his best ever game in a blue shirt for me & rescued Wes a couple of times - 7.5 for RDL; he wasn't tested much defensively, admittedly, but his attacking contribution was excellent - 7.5 for Drinky, just because I think Matty James was the dominant force in midfield today Very pleased for Jeff Schlupp today; his first appearance for ages and he took it in his stride. Also Wasyl, obviously a strong character, and I'm starting to think that I'd like to see him still here as a squad player next year IF we go up. I love this team and squad. They're golden moments just now - and I really think that we have an exceptionally good manager. I'm seriously wondering about asking the bookies for the odds on NP being England manager within the next 10 years - given his capabilities, what he's achieved every season here - and how he's learned from the failings of last season (inexperience and personal weakness of some players). On a more realistic level, I'm starting to imagine the whingeing of some of our fans if we go up and dare to lose a few games, I'm sure that I still heard a few muted boos for Nugent today when he was subbed... What's wrong with people around here?! Even if your team is performing badly (or individuals within that team), you should stand behind them - assuming they're doing their best. Just imagine itching to boo a team of players that are top of the league?!?!? Crazy!! Other marks: - Ipswich 3.5 I know McGoldrick was out, but assume that was still a below-par effort by them; Very poor. - Pearson 9.5 His performance this season is starting to look almost flawless - Bert 9.0 Very good football analysis....but no oversized white trainers (to avoid an oversized head)!
Bert Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Haha, don't aim to please Alf (which is why I'm rubbish in gen chat ) but cheers, appreciated.
Fox92 Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Kasper 6 - kicking was frustrating, again De Laet 7 Morgan 7.5 - dealt with a powerful and strong striker very well Was 7.5 - same as Wes, and unlucky not to score Schlupp 7 - looked assured and comfortable Knockaert 7.5 - a constant threat; everywhere James 7.5 Drinkwater 8 - another dominant and tireless performance Dyer 5 - lack of confidence; never used his pace to run at players Vardy 8 - unplayable at times, chased everything and never gave up, brilliant finish Nugent 7
kingfox Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Oi Alf. Apart from the rating of James, Bert copied my ratings. Where's my praise?
Alf Bentley Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Oi Alf. Apart from the rating of James, Bert copied my ratings. Where's my praise? I duly praise you, Kingfox, as I do Dickov22. Am I some sort of deity or awards panel, suddenly?!? So many great minds thinking alike.....or maybe you should sue Bert for plagiarism....or maybe it was just an easy week to call and we are all morons, me included..... 71 points with 14 games remaining, though. Looking good!
theessexfox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Kasper - 5 - All he had to do was kick and he did that very poorly De Laet - 8 - Played very well Wes - 7 - Solid Was - 7 - Solid Schlupp - 7 - Did well Knockaert - 6 - Tried hard, a bit wasteful at times James - 8 - Brilliant Drinky - 8 - Brilliant Dyer - 5 - Poor Nugent - 7 - Scored and had a decent game Vardy - 10 - Complete performance, everything you want from someone in blue. Fantastic. SUBS: Mahrez - 7 - Some very nice touches and balls Wood - 6 - Well-taken goal but didn't look fit or sharp, was poor in the air

Pretty much agree with all that, but I thought Schluup was a little lucky in the 2nd half with an underhit back pass to Kasper that almost cought him out.
Dickov22 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I think Wood has looked incredibly sharp each time he's come on as a sub. He must feel really annoyed that Vardy and Nugent are playing so well. To suggest he didn't look sharp because he didn't win headers is a strange one- he's never seemed to challenge or win headers since he arrived here! It's his main flaw I feel, for a player of his size.

To suggest he didn't look sharp because he didn't win headers is a strange one- he's never seemed to challenge or win headers since he arrived here! It's his main flaw I feel, for a player of his size. I remember a tactic Brian Little once spoke of with Ian Ormondroyd was when the ball is played up to him in the air, he didnt challenge for the header to either draw a foul from a defender climbing or so the ball goes over him, bounces and causes mayhem allowing the midfielders to run on. I'm not saying this is what happens with Wood, just that something similar wouldnt be beyond the realm of possibility. Regards Wood, I think he's looked sharp every time he's come on or started. The two games against Watford and Fulham he scored in both, looked good but then went on international duty missed a league game and cant get back in because of the form of Vardy and Nugent. I've no doubt that he has the quality to be in the starting 11, but Vardy and Nugent are in my opinion the best strike partnership in the league and not just for their goals. Their overall contribution adds so much.

I think Wood can count himself really unlucky to not be playing more, but I agree- Nugent and Vardy are brilliant as a pair
