Kinowe Soorie Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 Has anyone used these or know of anyone that has? Hopefully putting my house up for sale ASAP and they seem very competitive!
hairy Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 Not for a while but having tried other agents we found Knightsbridge were the ones who sold our houses every time. Its been a while since we last moved though. Bear in mind you get what you pay for. What do IPS charge? A % or a flat rate fee? There are internet firms that you pay a small fee to and they just put your property on Rightmove if you want to be really tight.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 We've used Key West on Hinckley Road a couple of times to sell. The lady that runs that knows what she's doing and although I think she can probably be a bit of a pain in the arse, that's because she's a tenacious so and so (in a nice way) and if they're selling your house that's very much to your advantage
Strokes Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 We tried to buy a house that they advertised but we lost out. They were pleasant enough, as far as estate agents go.
brisfox Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 Best estate agent in Leicester by a mile is Newby and Co in Glenfield. Kevin Newby is hard working, honest and reliable. His number is 0116 2990990

Buce Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 I can definitely recommend that you do not use Newton & Fallowell.
hairy Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 I can definitely recommend that you do not use Newton & Fallowell. Or Spencers. They really dont have a clue
Raj Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 I used sodhi on evington road...mention my name for an Indian discount!!!!
Smudge Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 Do some research and pick 3 or 4 of the best and well established. Invite them separately to the house and interview them for the job, that way you'll most likely find the person you like and is qualified. It's all about getting people through the house so having someone with a large network is very important. Don't go for someone with limited experience and remember you are interviewing the person not the company. I've just gone through the process and I knew instantly who was the best choice.
rico Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 Used Berkleys on Hinckley Road to sell mine, got me a sale in less than 5 months
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 Or any other estate agents??Connells are quite good
Rob1742 Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 If I was selling and had time on my hands I would go for the low cost option of an Internet company just putting it on right move. I say this as I am buying houses at the moment and I check that site everyday, yet I never bother with checking individual estate agents websites. With regards to picking an individual estate agent, good luck. I find them mostly to be generally poor and can get away with poor service as the client really does not see how they handle the potential customers. I did nearly buy one house that was for sale through an Internet company. Communication was at best very poor, but they did manage go get viewings sorted, but knowledge of area, etc was just not there. For your situation it would depend on how desirable the property is. You could research this yourself by looking at recent sales in the area, pricing etc. If it is desirable and will sell easily, may not need to sell it through a standard estate agent.
Soup Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 I've bought and sold numerous times and have to say that there all crap. They take pictures of your house, stick them on Rightmove and maybe one in there window. Then they'll just wait for a buyer then take all the credit.Thinking of doing it on my own next time.
Dr The Singh Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 There are services for around 75 quid which will put your house details etc online eg right move for you, so being a independent seller. Have done this with rental properties but never selling
