I wouldn't agree with this argument anyway but even if I did, Burnley have sold their best striker twice in the space of two or three seasons now for big money, presumably to finance the rest of their team.

When was the last time we sold anyone to finance buying other players?

When we sold Beckford and Mills off for example? I don't know where you've been, but Nigel has clearly been freeing up funds since he came back.

Ok, I'll re-phrase that. Good players we wanted to keep, like Rodriguez and Austin were for Burnley.

Ok fine, when have we had a striker as good as any of those?

It's more that we haven't had to sell our best players for years, so it seems wrong to demand Burnley should have to sell their best players three years running when we've had the benefit of owners who have written off our debt etc.

Dyche moaning about a foul? on Wood!

What about the clear and blatant penalty on Vardy..

Exactly Col, he has made himself look a bit of a tool on that score

Shame because Burnley and their fans have been brilliant generally speaking

Just read this from one of their forums:

re: Burnley v Leicester - Player Ratings

Nugent - 8.5 - Fabulous strike for the goal and a lot of running all game. Got more success with his headers than he has recently. The kick-ups at the end of the game got him +0.5

No modesty in victory for this fella, despite it being one of his old clubs. Let's see how much if that he does next season in a league where he's consistently been found wanting. Incidentally I saw Dyche's reaction to that in the dugout and it was the reaction that suggested someone like Nugent would get nowhere near his team. Likewise thought Leicester celebrated like they had won the WC for that second and their fans had that cocky superior tone which will soon been brought down to earth with a bump. All ultimately a great compliment to us and we will keep doing what we are doing.

They'd love Nugent back playing for them.

He's just a bit raw right now.  That was the match-winning goal against the only other team likely to challenge our claim to the throne.  It's not too dissimilar to Real Madrid beating Barcelona or vice-versa(or Atletico this year), of course we celebrated.  The only reason he thinks we're "cocky" is because he's still feeling bitter - we have every right to be pleased with our team, cockiness has nothing to do with it.  In any case he certainly doesn't represent Burnley fans on a whole who seem generally more level-headed than that fella.

When we lose we complain about our players and manager. When Burnley lose they complain about our players.

Guess that sums up Leicester supporters.

Dyche is on a hiding to nothing next season. Burnley aren't going to spend the money that is needed to bring more quality and depth and he's got an uphill struggle to keep them in the Premiership (if they get there). No doubt if he fails they will sack him and be back at square 1

Each.

And Knocky was £2.4m.

No chance in hell we paid that for him. The 700k that was mooted fits our style of signings much more than that.

Oh I will don't worry about that. I certainly won't be taking your word for it.

My heart is broken.

Babs and Bert...

Don't argue over it fellas!

We got the rub of the green on the Wood goal, we should've had a penalty for the foul on Vardy and Schlupp wouldn't have handballed it if he hadn't been shoved in the back and it was headed against his arm anyway. James didn't count because Foy had already blown for a free-kick.

We both lost our best striker in the line-up early to injury, they kept saying how they'd coped without Ings and Trippier so no excuses now for that, we won the game comfortably because our team played better, they went long ball too early and offered little support for Barnes.

We're not.

He has his view and I have mine. We don't agree, but there's nothing new here. Neither of us will be losing sleep over it.

I think Nuge is our best striker personally. I get your point though.

I'm delighted Nugent celebrated his goal.

Too often now players refuse to celebrate goals if its against a club they used to play for.

Annoyed me when Phillips did it against Blackpool.

Seems to be the 'in thing'. Hate it

Not going to read through all the posts but what a fantastic day, loved it.

As for singling out players for praise i don't normally like too, but after a lackluster performance in Lancashire last week, Ritchie De Laet was absolutely brilliant. Stood up, took responsibility and performed fantastically.

You Blues!

Leicester have superior everything in comparison to Burnley

Not really. We've just had the luxury of a team gelling over the course of more than just one season, which is our biggest asset.

They're just as good as us - if it hadn't been for some injuries on their side, yesterday's result could've turned out a bit different.

Far far far too many excuses from the clarets.

Now, without Ings, Vokes and Trippier i can understand them lacking an attacking threat which was evident, but how does that result in them conceding 2 goals and almost more? The should have still been solid defensively and drawn 0-0, or nick a 1-0 from a set piece.

But they were poor. They had the midfield which they usually have (except marney), but they were lightweight, poor going forward and trying to create chances, and poor at trying to win the midfield battle. Their defence, which with the exception of trippier (who i might add is not exactly 'defensive') contained players it has all season, and their ever present center back pairing looked slow, weak and clumsy.

There is no doubt that it may have been a different game with ings, vokes, marney and trippier playing....but for me....

Was and Wes > Duff and Shackell

Schlupp > Mee

James and Drinky > arfield and Jones

Mahrez and Knocky > Stanislas and Kightly.

In fact i would even go as far as saying...

Moore > Shackell and Duff

Konch > Mee

King > Arfield and Jones

Wood > Barnes
