Far far far too many excuses from the clarets.

Now, without Ings, Vokes and Trippier i can understand them lacking an attacking threat which was evident, but how does that result in them conceding 2 goals and almost more? The should have still been solid defensively and drawn 0-0, or nick a 1-0 from a set piece.

But they were poor. They had the midfield which they usually have (except marney), but they were lightweight, poor going forward and trying to create chances, and poor at trying to win the midfield battle. Their defence, which with the exception of trippier (who i might add is not exactly 'defensive') contained players it has all season, and their ever present center back pairing looked slow, weak and clumsy.

The idea that you can set up a side that will never let in a goal, even against the top of the league, is not realistic.  Up to last weekend we had the best defence in the division, statistically at least, but we had let goals in - even with Ings and Vokes playing up front.  And I promise you, having good forwards really does help the defence, if only because the oppponents have to be more defensive to cope with them.

As for a midfield that the players it had all season except Marney - the midfield is two men, Jones and Marney.  Half of them were missing.  And our best winger, Arfield, had to move inside to cover, so even if you count wingers as midfield, we were still 50% down.  And as you people who don't like talking about money never fail to remind us, you've got a lot more players (for some reason) than we have.

PS - I'm a bit disappointed to find no fewer than three different Leicester fans on this thread making obscene personal remarks about Sean Dyche's mother.  Obviously there are disgusting people follow every club, but it does somewhat detract from the "Dyche has no class" theme.

From what I seen yesterday I think Burnley were simply outclassed.

Ok the they had a few players out granted,

But to rely on the same players week in week out is stupidity

Of course there will be injuries so you must have good backups.

Leicester looked like the home side yesterday.

For a bit of context to this, the Football League statistics website shows we've used 28 players this season (4th fewest in the league) compared to your 25 (fewest in the league). We don't have a materially bigger squad than you, what we have is a better equipped squad. The strength of our bench compared to yours on Saturday is case in point.

Hi, I am new to the forum. I was at the Burnley game yesterday with my brother and whilst the stadium and facilities could be classed as retro (if we were being kind) it didn't spoil the atmosphere of the game. The fans were exceptional and the sea of blue from the t shirts was magnificent. I thought it was a great touch from the club to provide breakfast as well as the shirts. I am not sure if anyone else on here travelled on coach 5 yesterday but I wanted to say a huge thanks to the guys on there. Particularly those at the back for the constant entertainment on the way home, really made the day end as well as it had begun.

No they're not.

Yes, they are. When's the last time you checked the league table? Up until yesterday, we were separated by three points only.

With a game in hand and now it is six with a game in hand ;)

Your logic in full flow:

Liverpool = Chelsea = Man City = arsenal = Everton = Tottenham

So even then that would suggest we are better than them?

Just.

Like I was saying, they've had an excellent season and deserve to be where they are at the moment. Up until yesterday, the margin in class was pretty much minimal.

They've had a terrific home record for about a year and Dyche has instilled a convincing winning mentality.

Whether they'll be able to keep up the pace now that so many key players are out injured remains to be seen.

Is anything in those statements actually factually correct?

for example - "And as you people who don't like talking about money never fail to remind us, you've got a lot more players (for some reason) than we have"

We have both used 23 players this season. Just because the majority of ours are a class above yours does not mean we have more.

At the end of the day, our center halves were totally dominant compared to yours (Despite one not being first choice), our full backs were not threatened by your wingers (despite one being a striker and not first choice) our central midfield controlled the game even with one man less in there, and our 3rd choice striker claimed man of the match with a goal and an assist whereas yours was a passenger.

We had more class and technical ability, and it showed on the day.

Definitely. But just.

Of course, I'd love to see us ride away into the moonlight, remaining unbeaten in all eight remaining games - and crowning Alan Young our Messiah. lol

Let's go for Reading's record.

Quite right. Dyche is such a no class, cliche ridden, smug, irritating and whining individual with his own head stuffed up his backside, that there is no need to drag his family members into slagging him off.

Wait, did I seriously read that my comment about Dyche's mum was taken seriously?

Christ lol lol

Bottom line is I don't get the Burnley love in, and don't give a toss about any team other than Leicester ..... Can't stand Dyche, he has a silly voice and instead of having a bit of class whinged about the ref and money yesterday ..... So I couldn't care less if they get promoted or not.

I think my funny dyche/dick play on words has really hit them hard, too. Sorry Sean xx.

Before yesterday Burnley had been unbeaten at Turf Moor for over a year.

This season they had only conceded 10 or 11 goals in 19 home games.

Credit where credit is due.

To be honest it was easy. Let's have it right.

And shows just how far we have come.

Yes great record, so credit where credit is due, City blew those stats away. Bcos of those stats showed how NP and team, got their game plan spot on..

2nd half tactics from Dyche, was not because of players missing, but never changed anything to take the midfield, and never, tried to play keep ball for short period.I thought he and his players seemed to give up too early on belief.

Not forgetting this Burnley team has come from behind before. For the Home team how much was Kasper put under any real pressure.
