PerfumePonce Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 stop playing the likes of GTF, Hammond and Philips and play Kingy and our 'future' players? Not much point playing the former if they won't be around next season and we have already achieved promotion?
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 GTF and Hammond could still be around next season, I would and think they deserve to be part of the squad next season, then again I am a sentimentalist.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 GTF and Hammond could still be around next season, I would and think they deserve to be part of the squad next season, then again I am a sentimentalist.Absolutely right buddyAnd I hope Phillips stays as player coach maybe?
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 stop playing the likes of GTF, Hammond and Philips and play Kingy and our 'future' players? Not much point playing the former if they won't be around next season and we have already achieved promotion? Surely we'd be more likely to play them once promotion is confirmed?
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Absolutely right buddy And I hope Phillips stays as player coach maybe? Yes, I forgot to mention Phillips I hope the coaching role is a done deal. As others have mentioned on similar threads 5 or 6 will be released (I guess we all know who they are) Everyone else I hope will stay.
PerfumePonce Posted 29 March 2014 Author Posted 29 March 2014 Surely we'd be more likely to play them once promotion is confirmed? I mean as in them coming on as subs. Would you not prefer to see say Hopper, King and Moore playing instead? Players for the future? I'm not saying we should, I'm just bringing it up for discussion, I think the players mentioned have done a great job. Would love to see KP stay on as a coach. Although I like them and I think they've done well - I'm not too bothered about GTF and Hammond leaving.
Bert Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 If we win the league with games in hand I would expect to see Phillips, GTF, Hammond, King, Miquel get a start in a game or two.
LCFC FOX Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 If promotion is confirmed I would like to see some of the youth come on the bench.
BigWesMorgan Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 If the title is secure then I think that Jacob Blyth, Michael Cain could both possibly make it onto the Bench and come on for some game time.
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Not a chance. We should be trying to beat the league points record and keep momentum for the prem. Same team, Total domination, Gotta be relentless I say!
Mark_w Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Why bother? Keep playing the players that won us the league and try to amass as many points as possible.
iancognito Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I think Pearson and the players will all want the goals and points totals. I can't see Hopper or the young kids starting and even with a team ethic I'm not sure the first team regulars will be giving up their places lightly just to give youth a chance. It's okay blooding youngsters at this level to play at this level but with more quality coming in the summer they're even less likely to feature in the first team, so it's of no real benefit to us to give them 3 or 4 games.
DennisNedry Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Play our strongest side possible and try to win every game.
Corky Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Hope so, Kingy's Many Faces thread has lacked entries for weeks now.
Renart Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Personally, I think we owe it to the other teams in the division to keep putting out our strongest side! I know as a fan I would hate it if my team was involved in a promotion/playoff push or a relegation battle and I thought that other teams were advantaged by playing against a side that was experimenting or resting. I know that it can happen psychologically but I don't think that it is NP's mentality, or that of the team, to take their foot off the gas. See how many points we can get. Take the confidence of this amazing run that we are on into next season. That would be the best preparation for next year.
Albert Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I'd defo let Kasper take a penalty if we got one so he gets his goal
Renart Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Plus I have got used to winning. Wouldn't want to risk that... almost forgotten what it feels like to.... wait...shudder... oh there it is.... definitely keep putting out the strongest team. At the moment it feels like I might never have to feel like that again
Snooty Fox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Conrad to play home game vs Doncaster to give him the send off he deserves. Excellent loyal servant to the club, penned his first contract when we were still at Filbert Street and one of our all time longest serving players.
Captain... Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Moore, wood, king, would all be starting for me, once we've secured the title, we all know what the likes of GTF, Hammond, Phillips, Konch, Dyer and Was can do. I would also play a few tweaks of formation, knocky behind the strikers, 4231, 532. I would have any youngsters that NP, thinks could do a job for us in the prem on the bench getting valuable first team experience and NP gets to see them in a very competitive game. Like Harry P. A couple of seasons ago. We should be in prem preparation mode at the earliest possible opportunity, next season is going to be tough!
Jace Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I'd defo let Kasper take a penalty if we got one so he gets his goal Penalties don't count as real goals apparently
LAprice_ Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Yeah, let's throw in all the youngsters from the development squad... Logan, St Ledger, etc... On a serious note, Blyth scores goals for fun in the development squad. Cain has been as influential in midfield as Drinkwater. Why shouldn't they be given a chance? If not now, when?
80footgiraffe Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Nige is a consummate professional, he'll probably stick with a winning team
elangLCFC Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I want to break records, so I'd play the full strength teams stoll
