Big Nige: I cleared out Sven's rubbish

Pearson tells it like it is - Sven left us with a right load of garbage. Apart from Nugent, Kasper and Konch, his signings were all extremely poor. Paying £1m to loan Fatty Jonno still makes me shudder.

The manager deserves praise for getting us up, but it's nice to see that the job he's done rebuilding this squad in a relatively short space of time is finally getting some recognition too.

True enough.

It's what most of us think.

Leicester City Should Sign Junior Hoilett, Michael Dawson, Jordan Rhodes and Fabian Delph, These Players Would Be Wonderful For The Club, And Would Possibly Keep Them In The Barclays Premier League

Although I agree with Nigel, I was rather surprised that he apparently said this publicly, it doesn't fit with his normal attitude to the press.  I wonder if he has been mis-quoted?

Maybe he's as sick and tired of hearing 'Big Spending Leicester' as we are?

I doubt he said that at all. I can believe he said he got rid of all the players he inherited who added no value to the club because he has.

Agree, I can't believe he would call any player rubbish it's just so unprofessional and so not like him, well in public anyway.

So Johnson on loan cost more than twice as much as buying Mahrez? Unbelievable. Really shows how far apart the transfer policies of Sven and Pearson are.

If you actually look at the quotes, he doesn't say much at all. All he is saying is its hard to move players on that you don't want, Dougie has been a good friend.

Says it in the sun as well, quoting, when you take over a club, one of the biggest jobs is to get rid if the rubbish that's here...so might be not telling porkies if it's been in a few papers.

I agree with this but the quote appears in the Sun "when you take over at a club one of the biggest challenges is to get rid of the rubbish that's there " he goes on to talk about players with no value either unsaleable or adding nothing to the team. Only stops short of adding "no names no pack drill but you know who I'm talking about don't you Mills, Danns and Beckford?"

It's a misquote.

He actually said "When you join a club the hardest thing to do is get rid of all the excellent big name players that you just can't handle and don't get on with. The likes of Matt Mills, Beckford, Danns and Johnson have had brilliant top flight careers, well with the exception of Johnson, Danns, Beckford and Mills.

Players who have experienced the heights of the bench at Everton, relegation scraps with Palace, a losing play off with Reading and King Kebabs in Salford come with such experience that they don't like being told what to do by an idiot like me.

What I want here are a load of yes men who do what I tell them and don't answer back, like that shy and retiring polish chap I just signed with a shed load of Polish caps, if I tell him to jump he asks how high and what elbow shall I lead with.

If I had a decent personality and could deal with good players, you could be witnessing Michael Ball and John Pantsill, bombing down the wings... well they would have to as I was left without any wingers when I came back."

I'm sure he'll have made some considered comments and then some hack will have filled in the blanks and given the article a sensational headline. Standard journo stuff.

Great isn't it, get promoted and there was literally nothing in the mirror yesterday and a page about ****ing Sven today. Suppose that's what you get when buying the mirror.

If it says it in the sun it must be 100% true. Case closed.

Genuinely laughed out loud. Amen.

Only surprise to me is that it has took him this long to say it.

We all know it's true and people should be aware of the calamity of Svens management.

I don't think it's unprofessional, I think it's open and honest.

He obviously didn't get on with some of the dickheads we had here when he came. That's always been obvious. Being average is one thing but I think he definitely had a problem with their attitudes as well.

I don't think Hammond for example is much better than Danns but Pearson obviously feels that he adds something to the dressing room that Danns didn't and on cheaper wages as well.

If Sven had a decent scouting network other than people he had heard of or played well against us he might have done ok, his ineptitude on that front screwed us massively.

+1 for "how high and which elbow shall I lead with"

Inspired, although saying that Was will probably get 10 times as many red cards in the prem as he did this season, such a brute....
