Harry - LCFC Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Is it the club's choice though? I would have thought the police ultimately choose what they're going to do, I'm not sure they can be privately hired by a football club. Either way it seems massively unbalanced. I don't know. Seems quite possible that the club could request a bigger police presence though. Strikes me as the sort of thing our administrators would do as well...
Bellend Sebastian Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Anybody know the bloke who did the one-man pitch invasion? Let him go, let him go, let him goooo!!!! If correctly identified by my mate in L1, then yes. A decent bloke, something of a lively character it must be said. I hope nothing silly happens to him
elangLCFC Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Thought the stewards in N1 (can't comment on other areas) made it more dangerous tonight. Failed to pull the chains back or create space when people surged forward leading to people taking nasty falls and getting squashed into each other. Surely would have been much safer to let people into the massive fvcking empty patch of grass?
promised land Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Why were there so many coppers outside the ground before kick off too? Waste of taxes. You might find your tax money doesn't pay for the policing, the club does.
BlueBoy1 Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 The cops have different categories for games from clubs apparently. This one is apparently staffed with same amount as forest, millwall etc just that they were out in the ground. You usually see most of them outside during the game when we go for a fag at half toms so seems to be nothing new
lcfcfan23 Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 the club cant allow illegal activity you utter moron, got a lot of growing up to do kid. probably in your stone island jacket with nothing else to live for
Monsell1976 Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 That over reaction was a big two fingers up by the club to the fans, thanks for your money and time all season but you will celebrate the way we want to. I'm disabled so wouldn't have gone on, but in all my years of following city a pitch invasion wether for staying up or going up always happened, and we're great. I don't know of any club that have been promoted not have a pitch invasion. The club should see it's what the majority of fans want, and let them do it in as part of tradition.
sylofox Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 To be fair to the boys in blue, speaking to someone today the club request policing levels and pay for the privilege. Police also respond to the clubs requests so in this case the pitch invasion or prevention of. I don't see the harm in an invasion myself! Other than it is against the law. The fact that the club are responsible as far as possible to stop it. The fact it's been said on here for weeks has not helped. Oh and would it have been ok for everyone to drive home pissed tonight? As that is against the law too or should we just let that go by too.
LCFC FOX Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 People was just relying on L block, in N block we all went down but no one went on until L did. But only a quarter of L wanted to. I still think there could be one this season though, I just thinking people didn't want to as we lost
tylesta Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 May i ask why people are surging forward in a family stand? People trying to exit with kids while people are surging forward trying to invade the pitch.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Complete over-reaction by the club and the police. It usually only happens on the final day, but Im guessing it will happen on every remaining game now. Couldn't quite believe what I was seeing as a huge line of cops came marching out each corner of the stadium. Pathetic waste of money.
Yojoe36 Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 The club want an accessible family atmosphere. Also note that King Power and other sponsors would probably not want to be associated with "hooligans" (or football fans having fun). A family atmosphere looks better for business. I noticed cameras going around the more "settled" areas of the stands today. Dunno what it was for though. Could be marketing doing stuff for season tickets. They don't care about the already established fanbase as they're already buying tickets/ season tickets. If you want to make a point, boycott the club. That's not going to happen though. tl;dr - The club want to control the club's image. Now sit down and be a good customer.
BlueBoy1 Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Then blame the club they requested it and the cops are obliged to support the stewards who seem to select where they need support. The got a fair amount of jip from fans after the game which seemed a tad unfair, usually helpful and approachable unlike some places
LMlcfc Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Anybody know the bloke who did the one-man pitch invasion? Let him go, let him go, let him goooo!!!! I was in the stadium nick with him, hes got a huge ban, i got 3
VLC86 Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 I can understand both sides but just a few points to support the club.... Do you think Pearson would be happy playing against QPR on a potentially wrecked pitch? I would guess he has asked for it to be protected. All it takes is one nutjob who wants to make headlines by attacking one of our players. Do you have to be a Leicester fan to buy a ticket to get into a ground knowing that potentially today would be an easy way to get close to the players? And why the **** would you want to invade the pitch after getting battered by Brighton? Chill out, I'm sure this will happen but probably against Doncaster
leftbackinthechangingroom Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Look celebrate the way you want to thats your perogative but I just don't understand the fascination with going on the pitch it truly baffles me the players run off when they see people running down all you're doing is running on a patch of grass. But each to their own
sylofox Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Then blame the club they requested it and the cops are obliged to support the stewards who seem to select where they need support. The got a fair amount of jip from fans after the game which seemed a tad unfair, usually helpful and approachable unlike some places Do you know that as a fact? The police tell the club how many will be there. As it was advertised on here how many wanted to break the law and no doubt Bentleys too the police will have told the club. The club then has no option but to pay for and accept what the police say. If they do the game would be stopped by the police.
Collo73 Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Blue boy what a load of crap from you. The amount of 'blue boys' made the ground look a mess and also a total waste of money. Do you really think all the kids there wanted to see all of that?!??. Vote for the liberals by any chance
Itsthejoeker Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Am I right in thinking the club get fined if there's a pitch invasion?
ElusiveEd Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 The police only covered 1 side and 1 end of the ground. I'd have pissed myself if the invasion started from the other sides.
MC Prussian Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Am I right in thinking the club get fined if there's a pitch invasion? It's an offence, so yes.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 The police only covered 1 side and 1 end of the ground. I'd have pissed myself if the invasion started from the other sides. Was never gonna happen in the Prawn Sandwich stand, lets be honest.
sylofox Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Am I right in thinking the club get fined if there's a pitch invasion? If they don't look like they did enough to prevent it yes. Think they can also get the ground or part of it shut to worse case.
FilbostreetPen1 Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Stewards & the police are the kind of people that ruin football. We've been waiting ten years. Ten years! And they call in the riot squad to stop our celebrations after all we've been thru. I was there at stoke 2008. This club is a facking joke. No other team wud do that to our own fans. Its a disgrace. Kevin Barclay & co shud b ashamed of themselves

Im all down for a pitch invasion but when we been promoted four days? Prefer it to be a moment of joy to invade.
