Fox92 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Drinkwater will be a captain eventually. He's always the one talking and encouraging.
Tuna Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 You captain your team to promotion you captain them next season. The end. Like Mark Hudson has done for Cardiff this season?
LCFC1996 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Wes for next season. DD is too quiet think you need not look further than Matty James for the man to take over from Wes.
Tielemans63 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Like Mark Hudson has done for Cardiff this season? Perhaps he should have done? He was in the Champ team of the season last season and was dropped for no apparent reason. Cardiff have had an abysmal season defensively. Maybe there's a lesson to learned there.
Jimmy Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Don't be so ridiculous. You hate him for no reason. I don't hate him I simply don't rate him as highly as others do,also I don't think he's a great captain either, but he was the best option when he got it, doesn't mean he will be next season Perhaps he should have done? He was in the Champ team of the season last season and was dropped for no apparent reason. Cardiff have had an abysmal season defensively. Maybe there's a lesson to learned there. Cardiff were doing fine until Malky got sacked and it was Malky who replaced Hudson as captain
Zapp Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 In the current squad and first team Wes is quite frankly the perfect captain. His job largely goes unnoticed, good vocal ability, respected by all and a senior member of the squad. Danny is quality, why would you want to force captaincy on him? Let him do his job, Scholes-like. Kasper, Was, Nuge. In our current squad these are the players who could possibly be considered captains if Wes isnt. None are a better option. Moore, James, Drinks. Possibly future captains when they get more experience, but not right now, aged 21-24 about to play in their debut prem season, taking leadership from the man who led them last year. You mental!?
Stadt Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Wasyl would be a good captain, but he'll barely play.
Tielemans63 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Cardiff were doing fine until Malky got sacked and it was Malky who replaced Hudson as captainI didn't agree with his sacking but they were one point off the relegation zone when he left and shipping goals all over the place. We'll just have to disagree on WM. I'm going to go mad and wait for him to actually play in the prem a bit before deciding if he's good enough for it or not. As for the captaincy, teams don't tend to accrue 93 points if they haven't got a strong captain.

MooseBreath Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 where were they supposed to be then? they were playing well. picking up points and making a good fight of staying up, they fell apart because of their idiot owner I'd certainly hope to be in a bettet position than ome point above relegation next season, especially if we throw bucket loads of cash around like malky did. Using them as an example of how it should be done is ridiculous. They are an example of how not to do it and that includes malky's performance.
Tielemans63 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 where were they supposed to be then? they were playing well. picking up points and making a good fight of staying up, they fell apart because of their idiot owner This is beside the point to be honest. Tan has definitely ****ed it up for Cardiff, I was simply pointing out that freezing out Hudson hasn't exactly worked out brilliantly for them on the pitch when they've been dreadful defensively. Doesn't change the Wes situation though. We'll have to agree to disagree on that score.
LAprice_ Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I think the whole captaincy issue is irrelevant. We have 4/5 'captains' on the pitch. Wes if the official captain but all the players are vocal.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Wes is being saved by the armband now, not good enough for the prem This. He is not the player he was last season, and would quickly get found out in the Premiership.
weller54 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Drinkwater for me!!.. He's by far and away our best team motivator!!.. And premier league quality!!
Jimmy Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Don't think DD would like the captaincy out of the 11 that started I would go for either Hammond or Wasyl
Bert Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Don't think DD would like the captaincy out of the 11 that started I would go for either Hammond or WasylHammond? He'll hardly feature.
foxer Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Think wes will be and should be captain next year. Disagree with people saying drinky is too quiet though - seems to be extremely passionate, not afraid to tell people off/make his opinion heard to me. I do agree with what someone was saying the other day though, that wes seems a bit timid in interviews and is that the type of person you want as captain? Who knows though, totally different on the pitch and doing interviews. I'd like to see how wes does next year and think Danny is a definite future captain. Hopefully for Leicester!
Jimmy Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Hammond? He'll hardly feature. I said out of the 11 that started today, but please ignore that bit, there aren't too many leaders in the squad
Tielemans63 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Don't think DD would like the captaincy out of the 11 that started I would go for either Hammond or Wasyl How to undermine your argument in one fell swoop. Seriously, Hammond?
Jimmy Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 How to undermine your argument in one fell swoop. Seriously, Hammond? Captained the Southampton team that pissed the league better than we did and I specifically started from today's starting 11, like him or not but Hammond is 1 of the few real leaders we have
Legend_in_blue Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Hammond isn't good enough. Wes is more than capable but if I was to criticise one aspect of his game it would be the pace issue. Mind you, if he had pace in abundance he'd already be in the premiership now tbf.
Devonfox1884 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Wes should keep it IMO. It will be given to liam moore in time, but not for 3/4 years yet.
CosbehFox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Captained the Southampton team that pissed the league better than we did and I specifically started from today's starting 11, like him or not but Hammond is 1 of the few real leaders we have Except that Southampton didn't win the league and got 88 points. Reading did. Wes will be captain in one form or another. You don't potentially upset the squad without very good reason too.

I don't doubt he's a decent leader but what's the point of giving the captaincy to someone who is rarely in the team? Forget the fact he was in today's line up because that's irrelevant.
