JonesLCFC Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Captained the Southampton team that pissed the league better than we did and I specifically started from today's starting 11, like him or not but Hammond is 1 of the few real leaders we have First post, long time lurker. Just had to Reply to this! How exactly did Southampton "Piss the league better than we did"? They finished 2nd with 88 points. We are currently on 93 points with 3 games to play, potentially beating Southamptons points total by 14 points. I for one would not deem that as doing better than what we've done this season.

Pissed the league? They finished second on the last day, we've waltzed to the title.
Jimmy Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I seem to remember that Saints side being a class above all season, if I'm remembering wrongly fair enough but Hammond is still 1 of the few real leaders we have in the squad, Konch seems to be 1, maybe Wasyl possibly Matty James in a few years

They were a good team, but they far from pissed it, and given they finished at least 7 points behind where we have, how did they do better than us?
CosbehFox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I seem to remember that Saints side being a class above all season, if I'm remembering wrongly fair enough Very incorrectly. A quick look at wiki says an average City doing the double on them, an unbeaten run of 12 games and winning promotion on the final day of the season.

Brighton have been pretty average and did double on us, Donny still could this league has always thrown up odd results like that

Okay.

Okay. No I said they are leaders, they have the type of personality needed
TheUltimateWinner Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Why would you choose Hammond over Kasper? Very vocal but can never take responsibility. James, Wasyl or Nuge purely because of his smile would be my shouts.
MPH Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Captained the Southampton team that pissed the league better than we did and I specifically started from today's starting 11, like him or not but Hammond is 1 of the few real leaders we have By pissing the league better than us do you mean finishing 2nd behind reading on 5 points less than we have with 3 games to go? You're having a 'mare in this thread.....
Bert Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Either way, I'm 99% certain that Morgan is going to be our captain next season.
dmayne7 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Drinkwater will be a captain eventually. He's always the one talking and encouraging. He's the mardiest one on the pitch! There's a few that would be good captains in our team but I don't think Drinkwater is one of them. Bonus for us to have so many leaders on the pitch.
Agent Fox Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 Wes is being saved by the armband now, not good enough for the prem Planet you what on are
Marmite Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 How could you possibly take the arm band off him? He was made Captain and he done his job and got us promoted. he was given a job and succeeded
