Should WAGS and Families be on the pitch?

Recommended Posts

The lap of honour is supposedly for the players to thank the fans for their support during the season so why do wives and children need to be on there too?.... Having said all that, after people could see that they were on there then they should of waited till they were safely off to invade the pitch if that's what they wanted to do!

Personally I went on in the 2nd invasion, and I went to the center circle to celebrate with fellow fans and had no desire what so ever to mob the players

Supposed to be a fan/player thing. We're in the stadium, the place where players compete for the club the fans support.

It simply isn't the place where the mothers and wives play their part. Someone suggested organising a dinner for them all, that would be much more appropriate.

Have you not considered that the players might want their wives and children out there with them? And why shouldn't they?

It's not just our club where it happens, it's most clubs around the country.

It's not their fault some people couldn't wait for five more minutes is it?

He was.

Spent the whole time the presentation was going on getting treatment. Then walked off holding his wrist.

Did you see how old the poor guy was?... I felt awful for him but there's no way a guy of his age should of been put in that position in the 1st place, he should of been stewarding in the stands not on the front line keeping people off the pitch

At that point they were all down there it's not cus of his age it's because some retard couldn't just stay in the stands

Now think about it again,.... When there was still stewards in the stands (which there was) Why would you put a man of his age on the front line knowing full well what was going to happen?

Of course I've considered that, that is why they're there of course. But then I could ask why shouldn't the fans have 15 minutes with the players, and just the players, to congratulate them for their achievements? Bit like the lifting of the trophy I suppose - both are fan/player events.

God

Imagine being so pissed off at your fellow fans having a good time you are still moaning about it three days later just because a couple of players got pissed off at what footy fans have always done.

Get a life.

Or imagine being so selfish that 3 days later you still won't admit what you did was stupid

I traveled up from Cheltenham, my brother from Blackpool and my dad is a nearly 70 year old season ticket holder, we were all sat in different areas of the ground, and we all went on the pitch the second time round. We are certainly far from being idiots just fans who have all invested a lot time and money into supporting the club wanted to do what other fans have done for decades. Those who criticise in my eyes are just boring happy clappy fans who perhaps don't have the balls to get on the pitch.

Yes WAGS should be allowed on the pitch but a pitch invasion was inevitable, which should have been factored in when planning the ceremony, basically it should have been shorter.

Summary of thread - ignorant muppets refuse to apologise, and cannot justify their stupidity.

Lots of differing opinions on the pitch invasion on Saturday, of which I have expressed mine in other threads.

But to the people who did, and those that think it was the correct thing to do. Apart from spoiling it for the many thousands of fans who stayed in their seats to cheer the players, upsetting players and their families, ripping the staging to pieces, dis obeying the wishes of the club, what actual positives did it achieve?

I realise the club could have announced that the fans would be allowed on the pitch after the lap of honour, but quite frankly if they had done I doubt it would have made any difference.

You make it sound like there was nothing at all after the game and the players went home straight away furious.

The presentation went ahead. Sam Bailey sang. All players got brought out for their medals. The trophy was lifted. The players and families managed to do a three quarters lap of honour before the second invasion happened (which was wrong).

So yes, the ending was ruined but we saw the players, the medals and the trophy.

this just needs to stop now. it was stupid to do the pitch invasion whilst the players were doing the lap of honour with their families. some of which were toddlers and wives that were heavily pregnant. trying to justify going on the pitch whilst they were all on the pitch still is just daft. Could quite easily of been a devestating ending.

For me the pitch invasion isnt the problem. Its the selfish fvckers who dont think about the potential consequences that could of happened with thousands of people running onto the pitch whilst small children were on there. Surely waiting another 5 minutes wouldnt of hurt.

saying that they shouldnt of been on the pitch is a piss poor way of trying to justify your actions. the players deserved to share there moment with there loved ones.

I expect quite a few of the first rush probably hadn't been that close to a woman before, and curiosity just got the better of them.

Spot on. These were the Muppet fans, and they cannot comprehend how to behave. As I said above, it is like trying to stop a chimpanzee swinging through the trees. They are so thick, that they don't understand what decent behaviour is.

Stick to egg chasing

Egg chasing must be the most mild way of trying to insult something ever. I'm not even sure what it means coming from footballers who do actually chase something. Odd.

I'll never apologise for enjoying myself, even more so when it pisses off people who have tried to rule our fans with an iron fist over the last few years.

Hopefully the club can learn from it, Huddersfield did it perfect with their home fans last week, everyone on at FT. Ten minutes or so everyone clears off having done it and the players can come out with their families if they want for a lap and those who want to applaud them and look at their kids can do so.

Should the wags be allowed to go to Bangkok? :D

As long as they are consenting adults, they should be allowed to go to bang whatever they like..

Some of us don't need to be insulting, stating a fact, that all he does is call fellow fans names, but states he loves tigers, bored of him throwing insults around, and just for him after calling me names personally, I will give him as good as I get, yes I have conceded to his childish wumming.
