Should WAGS and Families be on the pitch?

Words that don't show you to be immature maybe?

You really are a knob aren't you?

Took you long enough to find out.

He's been on this board for years winding people up.

He lives in a dark room with no friends - let the cretin be

Truly spontaneous pitch invasions, such as Burnley (1983) and Oxford (1991) - No problem.

The first and second pitch invasions on Saturday - totally forced, unnecessary and a little cringeworthy.

Cringeworthy maybe but let's change it up a bit; once the hordes were on, I suspect that many children got a dream come true with the dad/mums.

i believe they should. i know all Wags are in for some stick no matter what due to the stereotype of them just being gold diggers but say you had a child yourself and you spend most weekends away from them (especially at school age) and some nights as well. They are not around as much as people in other careers (i know obviously there are worse jobs where they are away for longer and get paid a hell of a lot less) are so its good for them to share the experience in it.

I don't see what harm it really does anyway to the fans as a whole.

People saying its tradition for families to be on the pitch or they have done it for years need to bear in mind that football fans have been invading pitches since the game began. This wouldn't have been an issue years ago and is an example of how supporters have been manipulated and managed by the authorities in this modern era. The 'wankers' chant was disgraceful.

The w@nkers chant was totally justified, after all that's what those on the pitch were!

The thing I disliked about Saturday was that the players seemed more interested in walking/talking with their families instead of showing the trophy to us fans. I didn't see anybody once flash it to the crowd. When we won League One, Oakley virtually walked around the whole ground in front of the fans with the trophy in the air.

Agree with this.....The trophy wasn't really paraded round the pitch, the families should have only been let on the pitch after the trophy parade round.

Why should the players bow to your selfish need?

There is a parade today where you can see the trophy being shown off

What's selfish aboiuyt wanting to see my team parade the trophy around the pitch, it's what always used to happen until Wise changed it by bringing his kids on the pitch.

I don't live in Leicester so this was my only chance of seeing the trophy and applauding the squad, instead I got to see the players and their families take a casual stroll around the pitch and hardly got to see the trophy.

If we do well at work and there's a drink/party as a thankyou it doesn't involve the families, I don't see why football should be different.

As soon as the players and families started walking round, when people had already been on and were just waiting, I could see it happening. A little common sense wouldn't have gone amiss from whoever decided it would be a good idea to have little kids out there given what had gone before.

With regard to the actual lap, it was a waste of time and no-one missed anything. As others have said it was just a load of people (including a load of academy players) walking round chatting. From L1 I couldn't really see the trophy (the second occasion after the lifting was blocked by the Sky Bet podium) and couldn't make out what Birch was shouting over the tannoy. I'd actually go as far to say that going on the pitch and getting a few photos of the day from down there was the only worthwhile part of the whole celebration.

In terms of whether the families should have been down there then no, they shouldn't. The lap of honour is for the players and them alone in the sense that it's about them sharing their success with the supporters, they can share stuff with their family for the other 99% of time. Yes their family may support them as human beings but as professionals it's the players who do the business. If we're starting to include everyone crucial to their success and well-being then let's get the agents down there, their accountants and their cleaners.

The comment about the families providing the moral support after the Brighton game by someone earlier in this thread was laughable. If by support you mean a few paracetamol to cure the hangover which lead to that disgraceful performance then, yeah, it could well have been the families that provided that. I'm not going to be applauding them on a lap of honour for that however.

Nothing to do with the pitch invasion but I don't particular feel the need to parade my Mrs and kids around my customers when I have a good year.

One of the top reply/post of the year....

Wasn't a political statement, just a comment on the liberal attitude around at the moment, and health and safety attitude of supporters, or some.

I agreed it would have been scary for the little ones, some think they should have been there, some don't, but that was a choice of the parent, to decide what the risks was.

Also this thing about seeing the trophy, as has been stated by others, the players walked around talking to their families, and not lifting the trophy to the crowd, so wasn't a lot to see anyway.

It was the choice of the parents (players). And they made their choice based upon the facts that it is an arrestable offence for fans to be on the pitch. Then hordes of brain dead morons decided they were going to break this rule.

Yes, people forget that actually they have no right to be on the pitch unless the club allow it. It's at the clubs discretion

It has ****all to do with jealousy, for me the celebration was spoilt by allowing the families on the pich while the trophy was being paraded. The families have no direct link to us having won the league so don't deserve my thanks and support. My 9 year old lad was bored rigid waiting for the trophy to make its way arouhd te pitch to SK1.

Some of the comments in this topic are awful. Some fans really showing their true colours. For some of you to think it's okay to run onto the pitch mid lap and terrify the kids just because their dad earns more than you?

Frankly it's pathetic, I witnessed a grown man tearing the turf up, it's grass mate. Some of you have really let the club down.

Remind me again who won the Championship this year? Was it you or was it in fact the men who play for Leicester City Football Club?

Can't help but feel the need to point out that it wasn't the families who won it either

Some posts on here smack of jealousy, all the "if I do well at work I don't do this " posts

Get over yourselves

Don't be daft,I'm very happy with my income and lifestyle cheers.Mine wasn't a smack if jealousy as you put it and I didn't agree with the initial pitch invasions. What I am saying is for me personally I don't see the point of wives, kids etc going on.Not really anti and they can do what they want but I wouldn't take my wife and kids to parade around my work/customers after a good year!

I still can't see the problem with going on the pitch, it's traditional at the end of the season. People saying that children may get distressed by it is laughable.

Some people just look for anything to moan about!
