ozleicester Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 So, lengthy discussion about the "invasions" and particularly about the effect on the players and their families. Should they be out there? Is it the players fault for putting their family at risk? Should the club prevent families from getting on the pitch at dangerous times? Who has more right to be out there.. family or fan?
Jimmy Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 not its the fault of the morons that can't do 1 simple thing and stay off the pitch to let the players go around, having their family there for that lap after the final home game is a tradition, I would piss myself if all the season ticket holders that went on got banned, they'd never have the balls to do it though
TrentFox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Yes. It provides hope and inspiration to scores of young women to make more of an effort wih their hair and make-up before they ever leave the house !
Lobsterboyuk Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 The players have had their kids with them on the end of season lap for a number of years.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Stupid question. Did you not see how fit some of them were? not its the fault of the morons that can't do 1 simple thing and stay off the pitch to let the players go around, having their family there for that lap after the final home game is a tradition, I would piss myself if all the season ticket holders that went on got banned, they'd never have the balls to do it though Boring hell. Did it 'ruin' your ickle day out?
ozleicester Posted 5 May 2014 Author Posted 5 May 2014 Of course they should. What a stupid question! Really?... why? The players have had their kids with them on the end of season lap for a number of years. I know that.. but should they?
Lobsterboyuk Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Really?... why? I know that.. but should they? Don't have an opinion either way myself but if there are young kids out there then fans charging them down in a pitch invasion is not right
Strokes Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Tbh when pitch invasions were a regular thing, it wasn't a family game. Football is a different game these days and pitch invasions, abusive chanting, standing etc are not a part of it. You either roll with it, clap when you are told, sing the songs approved by the establishment or get treated like the scumbag you are. I'm a scumbag.
Jace Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 No they are not allowed footballers are not real people with families and feelings, they are put here so we can abuse them on social media and to take selfies with when we see them in public places so we can pretend they are our best mates
foxfanazer Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 No. Why should the players get to celebrate with their nearest and dearest? They don't deserve it! It's far more important for middle aged men to run on a pitch to act like a lad
CosbehFox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Never liked the fad when it started in the mid 90s. Dennis Wise I seem to remember vividly at Wembley starting off. The club had a party with all staff and families invites after the game on Saturday......
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 It happened at Everton after their game v man city at the weekend . Even Martinez had his very young baby in his arms Do we really need another thread discussing this? The others were embarrassing enough

MGLCFC Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Firstly, it's been a tradition for years, whether it's right or not is another matter. However, I always thought Leicester wanting to promote itself as a family club and has in the past won awards for this. Surely players with their families doing a lap of honour enhances that reputation. However you look at it, a pitch invasion which was premeditated may well have put paid to this tradition in future years.
StanSP Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 It happened at Everton after their game v man city at the weekend . Even Martinez had his very young baby in his arms Do we really need another thread discussing this? The others were embarrassing enough Cos it was their last home game.
Fox92 Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 The thing I disliked about Saturday was that the players seemed more interested in walking/talking with their families instead of showing the trophy to us fans. I didn't see anybody once flash it to the crowd. When we won League One, Oakley virtually walked around the whole ground in front of the fans with the trophy in the air.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Are we going to be talking about this all summer?
Callabinho Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 I can't believe fans even thought about running on whilst the players had their kids with them. Totally disrespectful.

I'll take a wild stab in the dark that you are one of the chavvy cvunts that invaded the pitch and is now some how trying to justify their actions ...

So once again it's someone else's fault for others behaviour, which technically was breaking the law. I'm afraid our society slides into a culture of 'lack of responsibility for one's own actions'. The players have traditionally done a lap of honour, fans invading the pitch IMO shows a lack of respect for this tradition, which sadly may never happen again.
ozleicester Posted 5 May 2014 Author Posted 5 May 2014 I'll take a wild stab in the dark that you are one of the chavvy cvunts that invaded the pitch and is now some how trying to justify their actions ... lol Actually no.. it was tricky, i managed to dodge the steward at Perth airport, but the federal police wouldnt let me on the plane. FASCISTS!! As for justifying...nope, just asking a question... if the club has a OHS job to prevent fans getting on there.. maybe they need to look at the risks posed to families.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Really?... why?Because their wives, girlfriends and kids will have supported them through the season in a way that the average joe in the stands can't. The players are not the property of season ticket holders to do with as we please.
