Out Foxed Posted 13 May 2014 Posted 13 May 2014 I can't be the only one who wonders why Aaron Cresswell is being so widely chosen as a potential target? I haven't seen him play, bar against us, and never really stood out. Can't say I've seen much else of him? he was in the champ team of the year
MPH Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 Suprised City ain't linked with Jordan Rhodes. Just dont seem like a Pearson type of signing - the transfer fee, i mean....
morris1234 Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 he was in the champ team of the yearAs was Wayne Bridge last year...
ibbosuk Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 I think Percy isn't as informed as he once was before when he was on the ball for most transfers, not doubting his credibility but I doubt we would be spending just 10 million. Exactly, does not make sense as I've said in previous posts, If you look at the bottom 7 teams in the premiership, they spent approximately the following in season 2013 -14. 11th C. Palace 19 Million on 19 Players * Promoted season 2012-13 14th Sunderland 27 Million on 13 Payers 15th A Villa 18 Million on 7 Players 16th Hull City 25 Million on 11 Players * Promoted season 2012-13 17th WBA 12 Million on 5 Players 18th Norwich City 26 Million on 7 Players 19th Fulham 20 Million on 20 Players 20th Cardiff 36 Million on 12 Players * Promoted season 2012-13 None of these figures include monies for the sale of players. It's interesting that the 3 Newly promoted teams spent a total of around 80 million in there 1st season's in the premiership, that's an average SPENT of around 26.6 million each newly promoted club!! so I have to agree with you Happy Fox "I doubt we will spend just 10 Million"
RizLCFC Posted 14 May 2014 Author Posted 14 May 2014 How many Riyad Mahrez type signings can we make with £10 million though? 😠Nigel could probably sign at least 4 if not 5 good players for that amount.
kingfox Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 How many Riyad Mahrez type signings can we make with £10 million though? Nigel could probably sign at least 4 if not 5 good players for that amount. Suppose your right. We could even get a couple of loans in from the Prem, like Tomas Kalas & Nick Powell.
qwerty123 Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 John Percy is well informed and what he's written is pretty much what will happen Its a club/business decision to not break the bank just because we've reached the Prem. We have the making of a good squad already that dominated the Championship. Add a few quality additions and its a squad that can compete in the Prem Long term i think we will spend a lot more on transfers but it'll be as the club/squad/team grows. As Pearson has already said - he see's them money grapping side of transfers as a disrupting influence. He'll make 4/5 signings of players with the right attitude towards the squad. The most interesting thing that's not really spoken about it Pearsons quote along the lines of ''Most of the signings will be players you've not heard about/of'' - again highlighting his distrust of the more popular transfer targets
Bert Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 We would've had Powell this season had he not have been a greedy bastard
jammie82uk Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 Sky sports presenters at the Brighton play off match identified LCFC scouts in the crowd, hopefully not to watch Ulloa but if it was hopefully we are no longer interested in him, he is shite! It was Inigo Idiakez who was there he's our under 16's coach
teblin Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 It was Inigo Idiakez who was there he's our under 16's coach Who used to play for derby. Not much of a story there
qwerty123 Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 We would've had Powell this season had he not have been a greedy bastard Which is the reason why he won't be coming this summer
Out Foxed Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 Another itk? Yes, he's posted before As was Wayne Bridge last year... And?
dave_the_fox Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 qwerty, ramadaone and bert (to an extent 😉) are the ones to listen too ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
Tommythefox06 Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 A better option than Nick Powell would be Jesse Lingard, been here before, had a great season with Birmingham and Brighton on loan, great attitude and plenty of ability.

Seemed a little too happy to score against us, + I don't think neither Man U and Jesse were particularly happy with his "lack" of match time.

Possibly but he's come on as a player and matured a lot this season, would do well here in my opinion, and can play wide or behind a main striker
RizLCFC Posted 14 May 2014 Author Posted 14 May 2014 Which is the reason why he won't be coming this summer I love it when ITK's combine 😜
foxoffderby Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 I love it when ITK's combine Should that be when ITK attack
Vlad the Fox Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 Seemed a little too happy to score against us, + I don't think neither Man U and Jesse were particularly happy with his "lack" of match time. He wasn't ready when he came here, showed some nice touches and play but was too lightweight. An extra year and he seems to have come on a lot like some of our own.
Tielemans63 Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 I know John Percy is usually pretty accurate but £10 mill sounds awfully low especially as Vichai has been saying that they'll put in £180 million over next 3 seasons. I know that won't all be spent on transfers but it would suggest there's more than £10 mill in the pot.

Not to mention how well a number of United players have fitted in here already, could come on loan or might be available for a sensible fee.

Leicester City will spend much more than 10 million in the transfers market in season 2014-15, that's for certain. So don't get hung up by this so called 10 million budget. We will compete in the same way as everybody else does in the Premiership.
