Babylon Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 quite funny how belittling of Leicester they were. It's the same on their forums, lots of "backwards step" stuff, seemingly unaware they finished 17th in the premier league (behind two teams who got promoted with 79 points and 72 points) don't currently have a manager and average smaller crowds than we did in the champ.
steveherbe Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 I feel ignorant that I don't know who he is If he aint French, young Steve aint interested. (I would add a smiley here, but I cant drive this bloody tablet)
yorkie1999 Posted 19 May 2014 Author Posted 19 May 2014 I was listening to BBC WM & Brum at the time too. The majority of West Brom fans rate him. They would rather make an effort to see him sign a new deal than retaining Dorrans and Brunt. Bit of outcry and also quite funny how belittling of Leicester they were.I only listen to it because the bloke next to me at work is a baggies fan and he reckons if Jones hadn't got injured he would have been player of the season, but would have moved on anyway because that's what he does to earn more money. But I've got to admit it's a brilliant football forum full of banter and pisstaking mainly because they have 4 clubs supporters phoning in and the obvious bias of the host. Lee the baggie has got to be one of the funniest callers I've ever heard.
Kirby&West Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 Quote from a mate who's a WBA season ticket holder and knows his onions: "Billy Jones is a top player. Perhaps more of a wide midfielder than a full back, but I'd be very sad to see him go".
kingfox Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 Would take him on a free, adds competition to De Laet. Can't do know wrong.
dbtcity Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 When de laet signed did he not say he preferred to play left back but could play anywhere across the back 4? I'm sure I read it somewhere, if so de laet LB Jones RB

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 Well I suppose we have to keep up with the Jones . . . .
Dan Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 A quick search of "Billy Jones WBA" on Twitter delivered a load of fans pissed off that he's leaving. That's never a bad sign.
Kitchandro Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 Not foreign sounding enough for me. Will-I-am Hon-es
Mikey Posted 20 May 2014 Posted 20 May 2014 Would be a very good signing imo, bulk up the squad a bit and provide competition at RB. Can also play all across the back and (apparently) on the wing so provides more cover in these positions.

Great save by Jones, rolls it out to Jones, forward to Jones, crossed by Jones, GOAL FOR JONES. Bet he wears his underpants over his shorts....
Rob1742 Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 The average premier wage is 25/30k, now considering lots of people at the top clubs are on 80/100k and a few on 200k. That means there are a lot of players on a lot less than 25/30k. Someone like Billy Jones is hardly going to command £40k, even if he is out of contract. So I can't see it. West Brom fans just use money as an excuse for him leaving and think we'll pay stupid money after the 180m bollocks. Agree - there will be a great deal on £15k, so talk of us offering £40k plus to everyone is not correct.
dmayne7 Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 When de laet signed did he not say he preferred to play left back but could play anywhere across the back 4? I'm sure I read it somewhere, if so de laet LB Jones RB I have never heard him say this; in fact, the only place I have heard it is on here! The fact that Liam Moore played left-back instead of Richie against QPR says all you need to know about that being his preferred position as Liam's hardly the most comfortable right-back, let alone left-back!
Happy Fox Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Gone to Sunderland. Sunderland AFC @SAFCofficial #SAFC make their first summer signing as Billy Jones moves to the SoL from @WBAFCofficial safc.com/news/team-news… http://pbs.twimg.com/media/Botgu06IgAAdP-j.jpg
