The Mercury won't know the in's and out's, they merely report on what's being said elsewhere. I can guarantee that if one of their reporters were to collar Nigel and ask him to confirm or deny our wage cap, they'd be told to sod off. However, I can't see us shelling out much more than 30k basic per week, there's likely to be plenty of add-ons though which you'd expect, it then covers us should we get relegated.

If the worst case scenario happens then we would get 65 million in parachute payments, we can afford to bring in the odd player or two that would command big wages, i.e a Cardozo type player or Lescott, but I wouldn't expect us to go shit crazy as you alluded to, but we should be fine imo.
