Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 I'd like us to try Hart Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines Gerrard Henderson Wilshere Lallana Rooney Sturridge Peru aren't bringing their best players for some reason - Jefferson Farfan, Claudio Pizarro, Paolo Guerrero, Juan Manuel Vargas will all be missing.
Leicesterpool Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 I'd like us to try Hart Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines Gerrard Henderson Wilshere Lallana Rooney Sturridge Sounds good but I'd like to see us start with Lambert and Sturridge up front.
darko2k7 Posted 28 May 2014 Posted 28 May 2014 Hart Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines Gerrard Barkley Lallana Rooney Sterling Sturridge This team for me 2-0 Rooney, Gerrard
J.Lisemore Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Score could be absolutely anything, depending on whether both teams try. A complete guess I'll go 1-0 England.
Guest MattP Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Better not ruin the pitch for the Boxing on Saturday.
Guest MattP Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Why aren't we playing this in Peru? Surely it would be a good idea to start adapting to the tough South American climate?
Jimothy Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Why aren't we playing this in Peru? Surely it would be a good idea to start adapting to the tough South American climate? One word - Money. Ticket sales at Wembley they can't pass up.
purpleronnie Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 One word - Money. Ticket sales at Wembley they can't pass up. Yep, screw the chances of good preparation and helping the national side.
Dan Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Sums up our priorities once again. I swear Wembley has been the biggest waste of money ever. In our defence we are playing two friendlies in America before hand. The United States, that is, whether that'll make any difference I don't know.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 29 May 2014 Author Posted 29 May 2014 Most teams have a final farewell send-off home game before they depart for the World Cup. Also I believe Peru play at altitude, something that won't be a factor in Brazil.

I've been to Barcelona and the USA and they all rate the new Wembley as the best stadium on the planet. Added onto that all of the different sports/events it holds then it's almost the opposite. Once building costs have been paid back, then it'll be running at high profits each year.
Dan Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 I suppose so. I was contemplating going as well but didn't in the end. Nothing will get this country up for a world cup more than a convincing, exciting win tomorrow night.
Grandad. Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Before every tournament we play a send off game at Wembley. God some of you lot can't wait to have a moan about the national side, money and whatever else is possible.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 One word - Money. Ticket sales at Wembley they can't pass up. The new away membership scheme details are out now. You used to get 2 caps (priority points) for an away game and 1 cap for a home game. After the WC they're giving 1 cap per away gane and 2 per home game. Getting desperate to keep the ground full Arseholes

Manaus is at a small altitude I'd think. They usually booed off in the farewell game from memory. No one even gives a shit anyway, the national team are the under card to the boxing this week at Wembley.

Getting desperate to keep the ground full Arseholes I know they struggle to shift home tickets now but that's a disgraceful policy. Just reduce the prices if they really want to see people turn up.
