Unabomber Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 He seems like a nice guy so he should buy them and then our alliance can really flourish.
jammie82uk Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Seen this earlier on a front page of a paper surely Must be part of a consortium as according to the rich list he's worth £14 mill That Wouldn't last long even at a league 1 team
Fox92 Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 At least they'll get a full stadium of every week.... ... Of 12 year old girls
Voll Blau Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Has anything worse ever happened to any club? Wimbledon, Austria Salzburg...
Finnaldo Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Not a problem. Just another owner to me. Don't like his music, but why you'd dislike him personally I have no idea. As long as he isn't a bellend with the club I don't mind.
Filbert_Ross Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 Hasn't he wasted all his money on drugs? If not, why not?
Guest Bilo Posted 30 May 2014 Posted 30 May 2014 He's a millionaire, was raised in the town and has supported the club since being a kid. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a fairly ideal investor from a Doncaster fan's point of view? At least he'd be in it for the right reasons, which is more than can be said for jokers like Vincent Tan. Just a shame his music's utter shit.

Can't argue with that, but it will be difficult for him to make any kind of impact or major investment. Unless he is going in with others who will just over rule him anyway.... So while he might be there for the right reasons, I can't see the few million he could afford being enough.

I agree, apart from the fact I don't think football clubs shouldn't be majority owned by 1 person..... They could have got a far far far worse owner!!
Finnegan Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 Elton John has a sustainable career, 1D have a finite lifespan. They'll be fish wrap in another year or so and he'll have pissed his money away.
broughtonblue Posted 31 May 2014 Posted 31 May 2014 At least they'll get a full stadium of every week.... ... Of 12 year old girls Can see loads of 70's & 80's tv presenters turning up then!!

You say that, but successful boybands tend to have a good few years in them when they get as big as 1D. They've cracked America for a start, which will really boost their bank balances.
