dpjfox Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 22 year old Cameroon striker currently plays for LOrient in French League , linked with us on Sport Witness site
davieG Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/chelsea-and-leicester-both-in-for-young-world-cup-striker Beware full of irritating pop ups.
Ric Flair Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Showed very little form before last season, but i've never seen him play so haven't a clue. Be interesting to see how he does for Cameroon, 2 goals in 22 appearances for them so far is very Heskey-esque. Majid Waris for Ghana is another we're interested in supposedly, different types of striker mind you.
Mark_w Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/chelsea-and-leicester-both-in-for-young-world-cup-striker Would be interesting to now which newspaper this appeared in as I don't think the article says? Doesn't look like a particularly reliable website.
Unabomber Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Sportwitness? I become aware of a new sports news site every day it seems.
RizLCFC Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 They've taken the article from the French newspaper L'Equipe.

Doesn't look like a particularly reliable website. Probably here - http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/95394-new-striker/page-2?hl=aboubakar#entry3017860 or maybe here - http://www.first4lcfc.co.uk/blog/premier-league-clubs-in-race-for-world-cup-striker/? But are we talking about Aboubakar or Abouakar or Aboukabar

Mark_w Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 L'Equipe. It says it in the 2nd sentence! I can't be expected to read words.
Carl the Llama Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 I can't be expected to read words. That said, I've just been looking over their website, and the only article they have mentioning him attracting interest from the UK doesn't mention us once, just Chelsea - though it does say he's received multiple offers from our side of the channel: http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Aboubakar-vers-l-angleterre/472467
CosbehFox Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Does he tackle like Benjamin Massing? If so gerrim him!
80footgiraffe Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Said in the realistic signings that this would be great. If nuge DOES go, he'd be a very tidy replacement.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Does he tackle like Benjamin Massing? If so gerrim him! THAT tackle on Claudio Cannigia!
Buzzell Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Who the **** are Sports Witness?! And who the **** is Vincent Abouaka!?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 waaaaay too good for us, unfortunately! How is he? New article too, probably a rehash... http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/06/10/22-year-old-striker-to-decide-future-chelsea-leicester-reportedl/
dave_the_fox Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 No youtube yet!? La révélation Vincent Aboubakar, déjà 11 buts cet…:
tommyh Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 How is he? New article too, probably a rehash... http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/06/10/22-year-old-striker-to-decide-future-chelsea-leicester-reportedl/ there will be alot bigger clubs than us going in for him id imagine!!! this is definately the type of calibre player we should be after tho!! rather than the likes of fraizer campbell etc
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Understand what you're trying to say, but I disagree. I don't think he's out of our league, and the reported interest could well be his agent drumming up clamour for his client's services. Don't know a lot about the guy but a steady season in Ligue 1 following years of profligacy hardly reeks of being "too good for us."
Molson Canadian Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincent_Aboubakar
Ric Flair Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 Poor record for Cameroon and never scored goals before this season, is he actually any good?
ronnup Posted 10 June 2014 Posted 10 June 2014 He's exactly in our league. Potential talent but not on the radar of big clubs. Whether or not this form in France this season can be replicated is the question.
