Guest Col city fan Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Babylon... you're worrying me. First, agreeing with me, then getting the Division wrong? You need a holiday mate.
Happy Fox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 This player is very much in the Drogba mould, if he wants first team football he will come here instead of Chelsea.
Narborough_fox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Personally think Steve Walsh might have been told about him by Chelsea. He helped them 'find' Drogba, and maybe his still has contacts there who have scouted Aboubakar have told him that he's a good player but not quite good enough for Chelsea so he has told Walsh to take a look at him. Just a thought, and probably miles wide of the mark but could be the reason we have been linked with him alongside Chelsea. Don't really know a lot about him, but he tore me a new one on Football Manager and that's a good enough reason for us to seen him IMO. NB: Name is spelt wrong in the title, missing the second 'b'

Tielemans63 Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Funny how someone mentions this guys name in the realistic signing thread and then, hey presto, some no-mark website is reporting it less than 48 hours later. I genuinely think some websites get their stories from scouring fan sites like this.
sylofox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 You know what you're getting with Campbell, we could spend £10 million in big Vince and he could be dreadful We know what he is capable of thats all. We may get better as our play may suit him better on the other hand he may not fit in and be worse. Any transfer is a gamble.
queensguardfox Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/06/11/midlands-latest/? 1) Leicester City are chasing Vincent Aboubakar Leicester City are hoping to break their transfer record and sign Vicent Aboubakar from FC Lorient, the Leicester Mercury report. Aboubakar, who is set to play at the World Cup with Cameroon, has impressed in Ligue 1 this season, scoring 15 times in 33 games. And it is thought that he is now at the top of Nigel Pearson’s list of transfer targets as he looks to bolster his squad for their upcoming Premier League campaign. If the Foxes are to sign the striker they will have to beat Chelsea to him, with the London club also interested in the pacey front-man. It is also likely they will have to pay more than they ever have on a player before if they are to sign the 22-year-old. Their current record stands at £5.3million for Ade Akinbiyi.
Brooksy Posted 11 June 2014 Posted 11 June 2014 Where does it say in the Mercury that we're prepared to break our transfer record?

Not quite! That Mercury report is just a report based on other reports. Reportedly anyway.

You may sign him, but you may never ever break the transfer record. We'll always need a player like Akinbiyi to remind us how *beep* things have been in the past at times.

I'm sure we won't be hoping to break our transfer record. If anything we'll be hoping to get him for £5.37 and half a Twix. Very much doubt Chelsea interest is anything other than agent/paper talk. Actually, I kinda doubt that about our interest too.
Rushden fox Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 I can't believe they mentioned Akinbiyi..that's put a downer on it.
Kilworthfox Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 He looks decent after 10 minutes. Strong quick & got some tricks. No goals.... yet
The Horse's Mouth Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 He was probably the best player on the night for them, saying that still reasonably average. Think it would be harsh to judge him on this game.
J.Lisemore Posted 18 June 2014 Posted 18 June 2014 Playing in a terrible team unfortunately. Still, didn't think he looked anything special though.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Lets be honest. He looked gash. Can't argue with that. Don't forget though, this is FT. If City are linked with him, it will be made out that he played ok, in 'a struggling side' etc.If he had been linked not with us but with Forest, most opinions would have been ' he's fookin awful'.. or along those lines.
Ric Flair Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I'd rather we signed Vincent Chewbaccer than this Norris.
