Captain... Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 I think you should reread it, it's about giving abuse to fans leaving in the stair wells as he calls them 'glory hunters' and the fans that stay 'loyal supporters'. Personally I think the OP should pull his head out of his arse. ...But the thread is about memorable/enjoyable losses. He isn't asking where were you when we were shit, he is using the Brighton game and the abuse of 'plastics' as an example of a defeat that was enjoyable/memorable. Maybe you should read it again.
Fox92 Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 suddenly this act of idiosy by a glory hunting few sparked probably the noisiest 15 mins of the season at the KP as the loyal supporters rallied against the people leaving and sent abuse to the stair wells. I left early. I pay to watch them so if I want to leave early I will. That's my decision and nobody else in the ground should be interested in it.
Jace Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 Watford away in the play offs is probably the best 1 I can think of excluding the Man Utd loss (coincidently just been shown on SS1), going out of the play offs the way felt like we had just seen 1 of the craziest moments in football
koop. Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 This is such a ridiculous way of looking at the situation!!! I support Leicester FOR ME, not for the guy sat to my left or in the next block or sat at home. I couldn't care less where in the world the support comes from, so long as it comes! What's all this hatred for so called "plastic" or "arm chair" fans?? Does it effect anyone else? no! If more people decide to turn up through the gates, it effects three things, and only in a positive way - gate revenue, atmosphere & the team! I don't see the issue! It's like music to me - I love to find new music, things some people might not know too much about, as that music gets bigger and more high profile, guess what? More people start enjoying it and getting involved - do I hate that? No! It's a great thing. Sport, music, art or whatever isn't for the few it's for the masses! I've been supporting Leicester since I was at primary school, but why should it matter if id only supported them since last week??? The so called fans that piss me off are those on their high horses trying to dictate how others should follow their team Massive yawn
Leicesterpool Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 I confess I left early that day, but it was purely not in anger it was because we were four down and with no chance of getting back in it or even scoring at all, though of course we did score. The reason i left i thought well it's four not getting back in it now, might aswell get the early train home. But i did listen to the rest of the game on the radio.
Karljohn Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 I remember a big response at Wembley in 93 v Swindon. Joachim pulled one back to make it 3-1 and our end went mad, minutes later it was 3-3. Also agree with Cardiff play off, I lost my voice for a day after, great support from everyone.
Jace Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 Seems to me half the posters on here are reading the OPs actual post and the other half are just reading the title
Matt Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 Well I said it at the time the 'plastic' thing was blowing up and every thread seemed to be about it a month or two ago and i'm gonna say it again. The only people (Or majority) who seem to bring the 'plastic' subject up is the people who don't tend to go to too many games themselves, the seem so dead set on defending themselves and make a deal of it that they seem to be worried about it more than anyone accusing them of being one. Like has been said I think most of the people who worry about being labelled a 'plastic' have only read the title, not that actual post.
john ridley Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 I left early because we were playing crap , pure and simple , I pay my ticket money and make my choice , doesn't make me more or less a supporter or anyone else for that matter .I thought we'd done away with this who the best supporter bollocks , but I suppose it'll be back out early in the season , think we need to sign someone otherwise they'll be more boring threads like this one popping up .
Jace Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 No matter how many times we say it the plastic posts just keep coming
Matt Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 All I can say is the title obviously hits a nerve and the feel they need to defend themselves, regardless of what the OP actually says or any other reasoned replies to this thread.
Jace Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 All I can say is the title obviously hits a nerve and the feel they need to defend themselves, regardless of what the OP actually says or any other reasoned replies to this thread. Not only do they ignore the whole post they ignore all the others too bet we will see more still after this 1
lc4lcfc Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 Seems to me half the posters on here are reading the OPs actual post and the other half are just reading the title Welcome to foxestalk haha
Jace Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 Welcome to foxestalk haha I think we should attempt a social experiment on Foxestalk, start a new thread titled 'Plastic fans' and then in the post explain it is a social experiment to see who reads the title and who reads the actual posts and then watch the comments come in from members saying how they are not plastic fans
sylofox Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 Was not at the game but from what has been said. Praps had the kop got up earlier and sang as one we may not have been 4 down. Why did it take 5k walking out for the kop to sing. They should be singing for the team not fans that are leaving.
davieG Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 I've come to the conclusion that our fans are at their most vocal when something has gone amiss rather than from watching quality football. A shit ref or assistant, a jobs worth steward, an opposition player getting one of our players booked/sent off unfairly in their minds all these things and others get the crowd up for it so fans leaving early is just another one to add to the list.

Mark_w Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 It was just nice to have the whole ground singing for once.

I've said this for a very long time.
Guest MattP Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 I thought it was great, it's a shame it took something like that to get the whole ground going but I won't lie, I really enjoyed it. You could tell some of those heading for the exits regretted it very quickly but didn't have the balls to turn back.

I'd agree with that. It's when there's an injustice of some sort, or when we're underdogs and performing well. That's why Norwich away in the cup was such a brilliant day. Everything combined, will never forget that atmosphere!
promised land Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 I'd agree with that. It's when there's an injustice of some sort, or when we're underdogs and performing well. That's why Norwich away in the cup was such a brilliant day. Everything combined, will never forget that atmosphere! That was a great day, even the Norwich fans at the end coming over to film us while we were still singing. It never really got repeated at Stamford Bridge.
cc_star Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 Since I went to my first game without my Dad, a 2-1 home win over Everton in the Zenith Data Systems Cup, I've had a season ticket for more years than not, for a few years while I was around 20 I went home & away, great years under Peter Taylor aside it was great years under Little, McGee (yes, really), MoN and Adams Where was I when we were shit - like proper shit, the Levien, Kelly, Holloway years? I was there I stopped going when I lost my job, which coincided with Sousa's arrival... and under Sven it never really felt like 'my' club as (Nugent & Schmeichel aside) player after player arrived for a wage packet not realising they had to put a shift in to really earn it Then sense returned to the club and I get occasionally now, not as often as I'd like, but about £30 a couple of times a month isn't something I can always spare I've never left early, except for a 4-1 defeat away at Ipswich one New Year's Day... but I don't begrudge people who do. But people leaving early en-masse when we've just been promoted for the first time in a decade? clowns

Absolutely correct. As I have said before, these people are not true supporters, but a mere bunch of pig ignorant trash!
Corky Posted 12 July 2014 Posted 12 July 2014 We lost 6-1 at Ipswich in 2002 and the fans never stopped singing, superb support. Chelsea away in 2012 was enjoyable for the level of support we had.
