Will1981 Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 With the Season starting soon I was wondering how many more players we will need to sign to fill the 25 man premier league squad. Current Squad: GK - Schmeichel GK - Hamer GK - Logan RB - De Laet LB - Konchesky LB - Schlupp LB - Bakayogo ? CB - Morgan CB - Moore (U21) CB - Wasilewski CB - Upson RM - Albrighton RM - Knockaert RM - Mahrez CM - Drinkwater CM - James CM - King CM - Hammond ST - Nugent ST - Vardy ST - Wood ST - Taylor-Fletcher I make that 21 players plus Moore who is classed as an U21 player and does not need to be registered but I highly doubt Bakayogo will be in the squad so I think we will still need to add at least 5 more players. I would like to see us sign: a RB to compete with De Laet as I dont feel Moore or Wasyl are good enough in that position. a Pacey younger CB as I think we are abit short of pace in the middle a big stong CM who can break up the play and get stuck in plus I dont think 4 CM's is enough especially if we play 3 in the middle. a Pacey winger who perfers playing on the left as currently we only have 3 wingers in the squad who all perfer playing on the right. A big striker (hopefully Ulloa) who can hold up the play. I would personally like to see us replace Hammond and GTF but I dont think this will happen.

We need a natural left winger, Mahrez is left footed but plays more on the right, another CM and a RB and just a bit of general quality where we can get it if Nigel feels we need it. It's all fitting together nicely.

Leicesterpool Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Bakayogo will be gone i think as will Chris Wood though i think Wood may go out on loan to a championship club. I'm expecting to see another right back to come in, i think we're likely to see two new players before the window is out.

Negotiate new deals for those we want to keep. Get in the freebies we wanted before anybody else did, make sure you get your chosen front man and then finish off with some more quality. Good plan. Getting quite excited about us bringing in one or two more.

bluebeau Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Bakayogo surely has to be the worst signing made by Nigel? Maybe the only bad signing he has made? I know he was injured but in the rare appearances that he did make, he was fairly useless anyway imo. How much did City pay for him?

Didn't we use something like 23/24 players this season with very few injuries, can't find the numbers. Personally it would be fairly moronic not to select 25 players. You could send them on loan after they make your squad if you wanted, but once our window is closed it's closed. It's not the championship where we can cover any losses at almost any point. 3 keepers 5 centre backs 2 right backs 2 left backs 4 wingers 5 centre mids 5 Strikers 26 Players but Moore doesn't count this year so that would be perfect for me. All positions covered with extra down the spine. If he's still at the club there is no reason Bakayogo wouldn't be in the squad. Other than him being crap and not involved much.
