Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 People saying £15 million I wouldn't sell if you doubled that Especially not to a club the same size as us
kingfox Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 Hopefully he signs a new deal next week, so he can put an end to this shit.
Fox92 Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 Not sure why people are laughing. Some of these comments suggest Southampton are some sort of top four club. And like I said, if people recall, we rejected a bid from them in January for the same player.
Happy Fox Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 Southampton have money, they would have to part big money to land Vardy we cannot lose him he is irreplaceable to our team.
casablancas Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 It's amazing how far he has come since his initial move. People slating him back in the day however now look at him. One of the first names on the team sheet. I can't imagine the saints having a party
tylesta Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 Of course Ronald Koeman has been watching him from afar ever since Vardy plied his trade at Stockbridge Steel. Koeman will have planned how Grazianno Pele and Vards can play off each other and we shouldn't take this as a rumour put about by an agent to try and improve terms at Leicester but as a serious, serious attempt to lure Jamie to Southampton kingfox has been scouting for koeman!!!!
kingfox Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 kingfox has been scouting for koeman!!!! Don't worry I've told Koeman to take a look at Igor Zenkovich, top scorer in the Kazakh league. It's all under control.
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 People saying £15 million I wouldn't sell if you doubled that Especially not to a club the same size as us of course you would, to a bigger, smaller or same size club as us, as 30 million for Jamie Vardy would be fantastic business.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 of course you would, to a bigger, smaller or same size club as us, as 30 million for Jamie Vardy would be fantastic business. How he currently fits in to our team ethic I wouldn'tIf some of the ridiculous feed being bandied about for various players are true Vardy is worth a lot more than £15 mill for sure

If you mean the amount we paid for Ulloa granted as that was ridiculous. Your suggesting you wouldn't take 10 million more for a 27 year old who's had one good season in the English 2nd tier than fee paid for a 24 year old World Cup, Champions League and Bundesliga winner. Silly season has officially started.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 SOUTHAMPTON FANS ON TWITTER : - Don't want that Vardy, we can do much better than that. ME : - Have you seen him play? SOUTHAMPTON FANS ON TWITTER : - No, but I'm sure we can do better. ME : - Right you are you minty pumper.
jayfox26 Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 People saying Vardy is worth £15m plus is just ridiculous! I like Vardy and wouldn't want to sell him but realistically, hes had one good season and we don't know if he'll be any good in the prem. If we got offered £7m plus we would sell! But I doubt Southampton are even interested and I very much doubt they would pay more than £5m for him

If he plays well next season, everyone will be saying it was a great bit of business by Nige!

It's all about opinions Manwell, that's just mineEvery player has his price, but my main thinking point is I doubt NP would want this team ethic changing unless it's a big club who offer a big fee and the players head is turned. I sincerely believe that won't be Southampton with all due respect

I sincerely believe that won't be Southampton with all due respect Of course it's all opinions and I understand the theory behind it, but you're being a tad silly if you don't take 30 million for Vardy whether it's Southampton, Rochdale, or Barcelona stumping up the cash.

I believe it's more a case of us not wanting to upset the apple cart at presentIf Barcelona offered £5 million the player himself would force a move through (whether it be that price or slightly higher) With all due respect if Southampton offered £10 million I doubt it would turn the players head so I'm many ways my point about the size and lure of the club interested is very relevant
jayfox26 Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 Well no, you pay a fee for a player based on what he's done not what he might do in the future. we all know that prices in football have gone silly, especially for strikers. Ultimately, we were never going to get a proven premier league striker for £7m so signing a striker for £7m that has excelled in the league below and gives us a totally different option to what we already have isn't ridiculous in my opinion. We have the money and I have the faith in Nige to bring in the right players. If he doesn't perform then, Yeh, Nige has made a mistake, but dismissing a transfer as 'ridiculous' before the guy has kicked a ball for us is slightly premature!
Bryn Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 Well no, you pay a fee for a player based on what he's done not what he might do in the future. This is patently not true.
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 This is patently not true. Of course it is. You sign a player because of the performances and talent they have shown in the past. Obviously with young players it's a different story but given he's about 28 that one's straight out the window.

Obviously with young players it's a different story but given he's about 28 that one's straight out the window. £7m isn't alot of money for a striker these days! They paid £2m for him, he bagged shit loads of goals, so of course they would want at least £7m for him
jayfox26 Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 £7m isn't alot of money for a striker these days! They paid £2m for him, he bagged shit loads of goals, so of course they would want at least £7m for him and the fact some of our fans are saying we wouldnt sell vardy for under £15m just goes to show how much clubs value their top strikers. I am pretty sure Ulloa will prove to be worth the money. There are very few good target men around, hence why we've paid £7m for him. Nige is always business minded so he won't have paid out this kind of money lightly, he clearly believes Ulloa is worth that money and clearly feels he can make a difference to our team
Hack Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 People saying £15 million I wouldn't sell if you doubled that Especially not to a club the same size as us Gee guy. I love Vardy and what he did for us last season and think we should or would sell him, but the numbers you are all mentioning and many are the same people who said 7mil is too much for Ulloa being a championship striker with no PL experience goes even more for Vardy. If Vardy is worth the money that you are all worth, then Ulloa was a steel and makes most of the comments about him to be the ill informed and childish comments they were. Vardy has accomplished less in his career than Ulloa and are the same age. So let's get some perspective. Now remember this conversation when considering our tragets and prices and what we think the value we expect on our players.

But I doubt Southampton are even interested and I very much doubt they would pay more than £5m for him But why would we sell for anything less than 15 million? In today's market, he could be worth 2 or 30. We won't know for a year or two what his true worth in the prem is, but why risk letting go when we simply don't need to? Players like vardy are what we are trying to sign, not get rid of.
MPH Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 People saying £15 million I wouldn't sell if you doubled that Especially not to a club the same size as us Wouldn't sell Vardy for 30 million? Delusions of grandeur, mate!
