kingfox Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Quite a bit on social media, about him possibly signing for them in the next few days. All links are coming from the Reading end.
Walshy5 Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Wouldnt be to fussed by this. Good honest player but not good enough for the prem imo. We can get a better replacement.
kingfox Posted 5 August 2014 Author Posted 5 August 2014 Any sources? Yep sources/links whatever you want to call them. Someone from Reading post, saying his name has been mentioned.
MPH Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Cant deny the lad the opportunity of regular first team football, if that's what he wants.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Why did Southampton get rid soon as they got promoted ? Let's be honest he's never gonna start and he never did last season. Definitely get rid.
AKCJ Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Would want a good quality replacement in first. Please, please, please go for Leroy Fer.

kingfox Posted 5 August 2014 Author Posted 5 August 2014 Charles Watts @charles_watts 2h @ReadingFC__News @msljukic3 Dean Hammond was mentioned to me early. No idea how legit that is. He's some press geezer.
Tom's Pasta Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Would make sense with the Adkins-Southampton connection. Bring in a more mobile replacement with a bit of extra quality then this works out just fine.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 As AKCJ has mentioned, we'd be foolish to let him head off without a replacement coming in.
Raw Dykes Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 If he goes, I think we'll want two more central midfielders. Ideally, one should be a holding midfielder who will push DD and MJ for a place in the XI. The other can be backup.
GingerrrFox Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Could happen if we manage to get in another central midfielder. I reckon we will see another 2 players come in and one is likely to be a midfielder.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Won't be any movement until we get a new central midfielder, which I doubt will be happening.
sdb Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 We need a holding midfielder though... Makes sense if we have a better replacement lined up, but do we??!
kingfox Posted 6 August 2014 Author Posted 6 August 2014 We need a holding midfielder though... Makes sense if we have a better replacement lined up, but do we??! Bloody hope so. RB & CM are a must, certain must. If Nigel wants another striker so be it, but RB & CM are important. CB who knows, depends how often Upson get's injured while LB I know people want one, but I can see him giving Schlupp a go, see how he get's on.

I'd say it's one of our most covered positions.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 What we really need is a winger, we have 3 wingers, Schlupp isn't a winger and please god Vardy isn't a winger, we need a, preferably, left footed winger.
Dan Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 Brought in to provide cover and to help us see out victories. He provided cover and helped us see out a far higher number of victories than we anticipated. Absolute definition of solid but unspectacular Championship midfielder. Seemed to be a likeable character and I wish him the best. I'm happy if this happens to be honest as we got what we wanted from him and I think it's a position that we can strengthen in.
Soar Fox Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 I'm a bit pi55ed off about this to be honest. If he knew there was a slight chance of leaving us he could have at least let Knocky have the number 7 shirt before the squad numbers were released.
Dan Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 You won't be complaining when Selcuk Inan's wearing number 7.

I'm not sure what people expected from him to be honest, he did his job in 90% of games he featured in and could easily bag a job at a top half Championship side.
Soar Fox Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 You won't be complaining when Selcuk Inan's wearing number 7. Or his teammate Eboue.

Or maybe Knockaert wanted to keep 24 as his own after using it at Guingamp and here?
Dan Posted 6 August 2014 Posted 6 August 2014 24 is a pretty wank number really though. Totally unFLAIR IMO.
