A lot of energy seems to go into people convincing themselves that someone's signed, when the absence of official confirmation is a strong indicator that they haven't. Then they do, and it gets announced. Am I just being very naive? I should probably stick to stuff I know, like eels Do eels stick to stuff they know then?

I can see that you might have an agreement in principle or whatever, but unless there's a pre-contract agreement which is presumably binding, there's nothing concrete at all, so we should all just relax and have a nice cup of tea or some soup, for those with more exotic tastes. I expect the helicopter was bringing in a wreath for the eel I have found on the whole that transfers at Leicester haven't been very straight forward for quite some time. It might be like this at other clubs but as I don't follow other teams very closely I can't be certain. The Mahrez deal was sorted, then it wasn't. Then it was, then it pretty much collapsed and we were all pretty cheesed off. Then suddenly the night of the Derby home game a picture appears on the website of him holding the shirt with that horrible blonde Mohawk. Fcuk knows what's going on at our gaff but we badly need some players in, if we miss our big chance this season I'll be livid. It's taken us ten years to get our house in order, the dough is there. Bastard spend it.

I get a sense - based on not much, admittedly - that they'd rather go with what they have than buy players that aren't amongst their first choices
