Kitchandro Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 Oh Stan. You broke my heart. You broke my heart.
Ric Flair Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 If I could move on from today's sad eel news just for a moment, is there any evidence that there's ever any gap of any length between a player putting pen to paper and it being announced? A lot of energy seems to go into people convincing themselves that someone's signed, when the absence of official confirmation is a strong indicator that they haven't. Then they do, and it gets announced. Am I just being very naive? I should probably stick to stuff I know, like eels There is sometimes a very long gap between a player agreeing a deal in principle and then being confirmed as signed. David Nugent took about 2 months when Sven got him. That was when Fourth Official was never wrong and all summer he assured us he'd signed and it got confirmed 2 months later. Free agents can sometimes take longer for whatever reason.

Ric Flair Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 Kevin Phillips took a good 10 days from when Harry claimed we'd agreed to sign him
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 My dead grandma's new dog owner who walks Shakeys cocker spaniel says it's in the balance because Esteban fears the only food he'll be able to get is curry, and he once had a very squity bot from a Vindaloo in Milan
StupidFootball Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 Private white helicopter has just landed within the training ground. EDIT: There wasn't 2, just the 1 as far as I could see.
Adster Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 Pretty sure it was only half a purple helicopter that arrived, was all I could see.
RoboFox Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 Private white helicopter has just landed within the training ground. EDIT: There wasn't 2, just the 1 as far as I could see. Was it followed by a bunch of flying pigs?

Can't think the groundsman's very happy about this - couldn't they have landed at East Midlands Airport or something?
BigWesMorgan Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 I've just seen a private helicopter fly over my house accompanied by 12 Apache gunships with several F-16's soon after. Pearson taking no risks.
StupidFootball Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 I am not saying its Cambiasso, but I can categorically tell you it happened. Maybe the owners coming in for the weekend?

I can see that you might have an agreement in principle or whatever, but unless there's a pre-contract agreement which is presumably binding, there's nothing concrete at all, so we should all just relax and have a nice cup of tea or some soup, for those with more exotic tastes. I expect the helicopter was bringing in a wreath for the eel
Ric Flair Posted 14 August 2014 Posted 14 August 2014 Helicopters? Tinted SUVs? Obama must be in town! Sounds like a story Chunk tells everyone in The Goonies
