Finnaldo Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Is Col seriously suggesting that a player who has played for a decade at one of Europe's top clubs, and has 50 caps for one of the best national teams in the world, might not fit in English football? Just like Wasilewsku didn't fit in? Jesus.

I think he's saying people can't suggest it's a good signing without a) discussing all negative aspects with him personally b) writing a full written apology if he doesn't turn out to be very good and c) he was right about Beckford and Sven.
kingcarr21 Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Just been down the Stadium and seen this car in the car park esie ban. Must be Grandads

Without even discussing it, I'm saying absolutely I would have reservations. I couldn't believe what I was reading when some were dribbling 'spaffing' over links to Ronaldhinho. Absolutely not the type of player our club would want, or need. So yeah, bring it on.. it don't bother me. I'd have reservations about signing a player of aged 34 who has never played in a league as quick as the Prem. So I'll say so, stand up and be counted. And I maintain once more, if the player had been linked heavily with West Ham, Villa or City fan's favourite QPR (shudder!), the attitude on here would be completely different. people would exclaim.. a 34 yr old on 50k per week.. no way to run a club that!! Etc..

Certainly Hierro who was supposedly on his last legs and wouldn't be suited to the fast pace of the PL, he found it a breeze at times. Cambiasso would be fine in the Premier League, holding midfielders can carry on for years as well. Look at Makelele.

Why do you feel the need to go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on. It's boring, you're boring and you are doing the nut in seemingly of everyone on here.

QPR signed Rio on more than 50k a week and the general consensus was, it's a decent signing irrespective of his struggles at Utd last season. He'll still be valuable.

Manwell Pablo Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Find it rather funny Estaban Cambiasso is being compared to Jermaine Beckford.
Ric Flair Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Find it rather funny Estaban Cambiasso is being compared to Jermaine Beckford. It's like Thracian's comparisons of Alan Sheehan and some of the worlds greats.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 So what's your opinion, is he a good signing or not. I seem to have missed it? I'm not quite sure what's going on today, Col seems to have lost it and Manwell promised not to rape me. This is a good thing surely.
Babylon Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Your usual glib comments don't hide that you're a fence sitter. Brilliant from a Pearson lover to a fence sitter in a matter of months. If I was you I'd probably write a few lines about how brilliantly correct I was. You bang on about caution, and having reservations etc. I've said I don't have a ****ing clue how he'll do, which is probably as cautious as you can get and suddenly that's wrong. You think I should nail my colours to the flag one way or another even though I have no idea? Why the hell should I do that, I'm not a football scout or manager, I don't follow the blokes career non stop.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Okay, thanks. Any other rules I need to know? Perhaps you could hand out a user guide. Maybe a template for posts so we all know what's acceptable. The template for posting like Col is to put stupud breaks in all of the lines you write for no apparent reason what so ever just to separate your trolling from the rest of the crowd

Ric Flair Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Question... Can Cambiasso speak English? Him and Ulloa can speak Welsh though
Babylon Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 This is a good thing surely. Definitely, like a chink of light in a pile of shite in this thread. The template for posting like Col is to put stupud breaks in all of the lines you write for no apparent reason what so ever just to separate your trolling from the rest of the crowd Bloody hell... coffee spat all over my desk now.

I also think the bird reading the news belongs in the Tinder thread.

I also think the bird reading the news belongs in the Tinder thread. Can we swap Stringer with the Italian chick in that video. I'm half Italian and can translate. "Errrrrrrrrrr Cambiasso is brillianto, willo be an amazingo signingo for Leicestero. If I iz wrongo, I will sendo a lettero to Col Cityo to Apologizo."
filbertway Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Him and Ulloa can speak Welsh though I wonder if they'll start using Knockaert's barber then, just for a bit of friendly chat. Like Momo who befriended some random Scottish bloke back in the day Also, totally forgot Ulloa was Argentine! We definitely played the long game there, getting him in so Cambi would have someone to talk to.
HitchinFox Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 I follow Inter. I can assure that Cambiasso being released had nothing to do with his form or that he would somehow be past it. Last season he was one of the bright sparks in what generally was a disappointing year for the club. The reason why he is leaving is the new owner cutting the wage bill and wanting to bring in new young talent. Cambiasso's replacement, Gary Medel, will be on less money than Cambiasso. Cambiasso would still have been a sure starter this season for Inter but the decision has been made to invest in the future beyond that. This gives a fairly accurate picture of what is going on. http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2014/08/depth-of-thohirs-spending-cuts-at-inter-revealed In other words, he would be a fantastic signing for us. WIth him and DD in the middle of the park we would have a very good mix of talent and a central midfield that could be genuinely described as "Premier League".

Guest Col city fan Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 Im not at all surprised at how I percieve this thread has progressed. It essentially kicked off with surprise and delight at our being linked with Cambiasso. Images were created of posters 'spaffing' at the prospect Then, in usual Babylon fashion, glibness pervaded and of course, the playground mentality prevailed, everyone jumped on the bandwagon and any discussion gets lost amongst all the piss-taking. Col, once more, becomes a QPR fan... In summary.. absolutely my feelings towards us signing Cambiasso are very mixed. Im never sure of signing older, overseas players who are edging towards the end of their careers. A player like Ronaldhino, NOW, I would not touch with a barge-pole. To do so would be to remind me of the Sven days and the complete fookin cock-up that was made then. Given the choice of Isla, for example, or Cambiasso.. I'd take the former in a heart beat. He's younger, fitter and with a point to prove. Cambiasso has done it all and has nothing to prove. I imagine him joining us would be a pay day, nothing more. Its my own fault. I saw it before re. the news that we were getting Sven and then Beckford. For some reason, the majority on here will quickly dismiss ANY suggestion of questioning. It seems almost 'disloyal' perhaps to not jump on the bandwagon of positivity. But, I'll do two things: I'll stand by my not immediately claiming that signing Cambiasso would be fantastic AND I'll be the first to claim that I was wrong if we sign him and he turns out to be our key signing of the summer. Personally, given all things considered, Id be happier to be linked with a player like Lee Cattermole. Hows that for fence sitting?
