Stop swerving... should we have a wage cap? Yes or no?

If so, should we break it for Cambiasso? Yes or no?

I'll give my answer: Yes

No

There.. whats your opinion?

What the fcuk am I swerving, did someone ask me a sodding question that I didn't answer? No, they didn't.

Should we have a wage cap, not a rigid one of no more than x amount. It would be ludicrous if you could get a great player for a bit more and you wouldn't budge. But that doesn't mean I think it's a good idea to sign up a player for 70k a week, with a big fee for 4 years. I'm more interested in the whole package than the basic wage.

I believe in sensible spending though, if we have a budget then we should stick to it and not put the future of the club at risk.

As for Cambiasso, if the manager wants him and the price is right then yes take him. I'm not a scout, I don't watch dozens of foreign games every week so I can't tell you if he is still up to it. But I can't do that with any signing, unless you want me to just guess.  But on the basis of it being Cambiasso, the position he plays and the fact he played 32 games last year, he stands a very good chance of still being able to put in a shift on the occasions we need to play three in the middle.

Who on here ever prohibited a discussion about Cambiasso? The discussion is healthy, proven by your constant input (even though you said you'd quit for good for today lol). What universe are you living in?

I said id quit about QPR!!

What, no discussion whatsoever? So everyone is sure that a 34 yr old, who's never played in the Prem, will come in and be 'our biggest ever signing'?

With no discussion? Like I said, its reminiscent of when we were linked with Beckford. Hardly anyone wanted to acknowledge that he might not work.. and defended him resolutely thereafter for months (if not longer).

Cambiasso might be great. For his alleged wages (have we got a cap, or not?) he seems a gamble to me.

But you'll quosh it, like you and others do. Then change your mind like you did on Beckford. Potentially anyway.

Do you need therapy? You say the most bizarre things sometimes. If we all need to discuss this between ourselves for everyone to then decide whether they want the guy or not ( I guess you mean we can only make such a decision based on a democratic procedure ), just means that you should want him because everyone else does and that is still the democratic procedure you seem to want.

Of course he may not prove to come up to expectation, but then that is a fact with any player that any team has ever bought. That, as a fact, is taken 'as read' by everyone. It does not need to be part of any transfer speculation. The point is that so far everyone seems to want the guy. Face up to it chap, you are simply being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative, nothing else.

Okay, just checking... am I allowed to say I think this would be a good signing or have we had too many of those so far?

If so, I'll pretend I don't think it would be a good signing so that we can have a "discussion".

Let me know.

No probs! As long as you come back on here, if he proves to be a duffer, hold your hands up and say 'I was wrong'!

That would be fine..

Why would he need to do that? Are you a bit of a control freak?

Darn. I was looking forward to a soothing second half of Friday!!!

It also works the other way around, right?

So what's your opinion, is he a good signing or not. I seem to have missed it?

Only Leicester fans could moan and question whether Esteban Cambiasso can cut the mustard when our only other option is Dean Hammond.

Esteban Cambiasso.

I'm not quite sure what's going on today, Col seems to have lost it and Manwell promised not to rape me.

Will you do the same if he turns out to be a good signing?

Okay, thanks. Any other rules I need to know?

Perhaps you could hand out a user guide. Maybe a template for posts so we all know what's acceptable.

Just a point on the £30K per week crap. He is a free agent so no transfer fee. Signing on fee £1,880,000 then £30,000 per week for 104 weeks. Nicely within the pay strategy, OK?

So from what little I've seen am I right to think col sits on the fence about absolutely everything, claims he was right when an outcome is reached, and anyone who stuck their neck out one way or the other is an idiot?

Pretty much.

I am sure Col wont mind me saying this, but the only thing he ever wants is a DM. No matter the issue a DM is the answer. Now in light of that his opposition to Cambiasso is slightly odd.

A great addition to the squad will only help to improve our younger players and who knows bang in a few important goals for us in the process !!

Can we set up a QPR subforum for Col?

QPR are doing some very good business. I reckon 'Arry's lads will end above us next season.

Gimme another pint 'Arry boy, I told the geezers like you asked me to.

I tell you what, I'll give my opinion. It won't include spaffing over anyone or suggesting we are making the signing of the century.

My opinion is this: when I first saw we were linked with Cambiasso I thought no, that won't happen. Then I thought, hmmm he's 34 and hasn't played in a league as quick as the Premiership. Then I thought why are Inter releasing him.. has he not had a brilliant season? Then I thought, I hope signing him doesn't mean we'll break our supposed wage cap.

Finally, I thought.. nah.. avoid this. I didn't think this was the direction in which the club were going.

There ya go.. I could be right, or wrong and he could sign and be better than Lennon.

But rather that IMO than some of the stuff ive read today. And if you consider THAT'S flip flopping, you are deluded Babble on. You really are.

Finally.. having read the stats you put up, am I missing summat? They don't make for brill reading do they? Enlighten moi.
