I actually thought 'that' post from Col was all going pretty well until 'that' Cattermole comment, which is staggering. I can see his thinking but come on - Cambiasso is a class above what Cattermole will ever be.

There's always a risk of lack of motivation, but to me it sounds like his reasons for leaving Inter were genuine and he may, just may be after a new challenge. I cannot believe Pearson would bring someone here who is here for one last paycheck. He'd identify if he was before signing him IMO.

Is Col for real, are you pissed, high on glue or having a gun pointed at your head while you type your posts?

Stop trying to get rep points, it's very unbecoming. Don't forget the comments you made about our Danny..

Is Col not knowing an awful lot about football new to you people? Do you not remember the Pearson Out summer?

No offense Col, I'm just amazed it's taken people this long.

Trust you to bring up the "Pearson Out" thing. You are so unbelievably, bloody pathetic. Get a f-----g life you silly child.

If he stops that, will you please stop the pointless Arry meetings and conversations?

I think that's a fair deal.

Cheers Dan. I felt I made some excellent points

Regarding a player like Cattermole or the big lad from West Ham (name escapes me)... YES!! I would absolutely choose younger players like these. I tell you why:

1. They are known quantities..they know the Premiership, the demands it makes on them, who the opposition are etc.

2. They are coming into the best years of their careers. Cattermole is 26 isn't he? In his day, Cambiasso was on a different planet to Cattermole, but every dog has their day. What has he left to prove? Can he stay fit? Will he fade away as the season progresses. THIS IS NOT ABOUT ABILITY. I simply have reservations about older players coming to the Prem in the twilight of their careers.

3. Cattermole IS a stopper.. thats what i think we need. I think Pearson could control the discipline side of his game. He's also a natural leader which could be crucial this season.

4. Cattermole represents no risk..you know what you will get. IF he can stop getting sent-off..

5. I want to see us making signings for the future. That's been the Pearson way. Don't forget, the older heads (GTF/Phillips) played cameo roles at the club. That's fine and that's where I think Upson will come in. But I suspect if we sign Cambiasso, it would surely be for the first team. Is a 34 yr old 'veteran' going to cope week-in, week-in in the Prem? The game in Italy is MUCH slower..which is why Pirlo has been exceptional for so long.

Anyway.. that's my rationale.. cue abuse...

It's a shame, but again, not surprising DT.

I hope you see the irony in pointing out the failings in somebody else's previous posts.

Man I've really gotten to you haven't I? Deep breaths.

Talks broke down

I love the way when we get a new ITK they always post these punchy one-liners.

It's as if they're adding to the extra secrecy of their post, like a whisper in the ear.

1. True that Cattermole knows the league, but Cambiasso will know what top English sides will set up like. He could be crucial in us upsetting the odds against a couple of the top sides in my opinion.

2. A fair concern to have - but in my opinion, Pearson should have earned the faith of the fans when it comes to transfers. He wasted no time in booting out the players who didn't want to know and of the experienced players he has brought in, they've added to the dressing room if anything. He's a terrific judge of character and deserves credit for it. I know it sounds like blind loyalty to some - but I automatically will think more of someone Pearson signs simply because I know he's got that judge of character in him.

3. Cambiasso is a better stopper than Cattermole and dare I say it - I would rather have someone who has a better defensive tactical brain than a physical type of player simply because the game is leaving physical players behind.

4. Cattermole represents risk. I don't agree with you there. Every player is a risk bar none.

5. Pirlo's been better in the past 2/3 years then he was throughout most of his career. He's adapted. True, Cambiasso would be more suited to the Serie A - but I've said it before, this bloke has played in Champions League winning sides. Adaptability won't be a problem. He's faced pacey players through his career and a lot of better, pacey players in Italy as well (they do exist!), a player of Cambiasso's stature will not struggle if he's better than his pacey opposition and I think he often will be.

Good post buddy. So much better than the ridiculing ones by the usual suspects. And I tend to concur with a lot of it.

I'm not against signing Cambiasso. Genuinely. But its good to consider it without simply jizzing oneself senseless over it.

As usual Dan.. well worth a read.

Cattermole only represents no risk because we all know and we're all well aware he's gash

I'd rather have Guacamole smeared round my GARRY and licked off by a bear than Cattermole!! Col's lost his pickle
