Esteban Cambiasso

Absolutely buddy. Absolutely..

I'd take a younger, fitter player, with a point to prove, who was a big part (I believe) of the amazing Sunderland fight back at the arse-end of last season, with plenty of premiership experience and who, IMO could fit beautifully into our set-up.

I think Nige could control him such that his defensive work could be crucial in our survival.

I'd take him over a 34 yr old player who hasn't played outside of Italy for God knows how long and who, maybe one could argue, wants the Premiership for his last big paycheck.

Sure I would... it surprises me that no-one else would? Then again, it don't really.

How do you know Cattermole is fitter?

Can't see Cattermole being a Pearson signing. Cambiasso is right up his street and out of him and you I know whose opinion I'd agree with more.

I fuking hope he was picking his meds up from the pharmacy if so.

Discuss it Pablo.. like during the World Cup. The silly pics and references to medications are not what I expect of you. You're not usually a sheep..

To put it kindly, you're a bloody moron.

Oh come off it Bert. Everyone knows that every 26 year old is fitter than every 34 year old. Common knowledge.

LEE CLATTERMOLE IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED

What evidence do you have that Cambiasso is no longer up to it, looking for a last paycheck and isn't fit enough?

I have none. Its an opinion. Why would a 34 yr old want to leave Milan to come to Leicester, and probably up root his family if for nothing other than a final pay check?

Makes sense to me?

Unless its for the challenge? Which it could be. Do you think it is?

THE POINT HE WANTS TO PROVE IS HE CAN BREAK MORE LEGS THAN CHOPPER HARRIS, HE'S HAD MORE CARDS THAN PAUL DANIELS!!!!!!

EDIT: Oh, and he's wank!

I don't know enough about Cambiasso to have a relevant opinion, but another poster has outlined why Milan didn't renew his contract, and having had such a successful career, I find it conceivable that he fancies a new challenge and opportunity in England. And according to numerous sources which suggest there may be something in it, I find it conceivable that the said challenge could be with Leicester. And according to the fact that he played 34 times for Milan last season and seemed to do a good job, I find it conceivable that he would bring a hell of a lot more to the table than Lee Cattermole.

He hasn't been offered a contract at Inter, fancies playing in England. Besides, Milan is about a 2 hour flight.

Bearing in mind I post in here very rarely, I am going to have my 10 pence worth of "source" information.

I have a friend who works as a sports reporter at the Mercury and he informs me that we are definitely in for him, just got to iron out the details.

I've given my opinion. Many, including yourself disagree. That's fair enough. And it's what I expected. If I'd have simply stated 'great player, I'm about to spaff', the thread wouldn't be half as long.

So, we'll see if he joins us and if so, how he does.

I've not once said he'll be crap. But I have said I have reservations.

He didn't want to leave Inter. He was released.

You're spot on with the second bit. He's looking for a new challenge. He's ambitious and still "has the fire" - he's said it himself. He hasn't played in England and sees his style as fitting the physical side of things here and wants to experience the Prem.

People have discussed it, clearly they think the possible benefits outweigh the possible negatives. Hence thinking it's a good signing.

Whilst sitting there coming up with all the negatives, I haven't seen you mention many potential positives.

Seems like it's not ok for people to look at the positives, but fine for you to just look at the negatives.

its had to go in my signature!!!

fooking priceless....

Cambiasso = Fillet Steak

Cattermole = A manky 4 day old burger that Stavros has just wanked in!

Don't necessairly have to up route family these days. Apartment in the city and Milan is 2hour flight away. Sounds like a 2yr deal so he's not here for the long term - moving wise.

Positives: experience (tons of it), better than Hammond (as though that's the key to the right signing?), a DM (needed IMO).

Hows that for the starter for ten?

Still don't mean I've not got reservations. But as I said above, I've expressed them. Lets see.

If you'd just posted your opinion without trying to run down others the thread would be half as long. Your opinion on him has sod all to do with most of the replies you keep getting, it's to do with the way you go about posting it.

lol lol

I tell you what, I'll give my opinion. It won't include spaffing over anyone or suggesting we are making the signing of the century.

My opinion is this: when I first saw we were linked with Cambiasso I thought no, that won't happen. Then I thought, hmmm he's 34 and hasn't played in a league as quick as the Premiership. Then I thought why are Inter releasing him.. has he not had a brilliant season? Then I thought, I hope signing him doesn't mean we'll break our supposed wage cap.

Finally, I thought.. nah.. avoid this. I didn't think this was the direction in which the club were going.

There ya go.. I could be right, or wrong and he could sign and be better than Lennon.

But rather that IMO than some of the stuff ive read today. And if you consider THAT'S flip flopping, you are deluded Babble on. You really are.

Finally.. having read the stats you put up, am I missing summat? They don't make for brill reading do they? Enlighten moi.

What does that matter? The man has played in Serie A and La Liga. He's played in the Champions League, World Cup and Copa America. He's not some journeyman who has rattled around in the lower leagues for his career, he's played at the highest level in football.

Erm, how about he was at one time was one of the best holding midfielders in the world?
