I think back to the dross in CM over the last 10 years or so; Gareth Williams, Stephen Hughes, joey gudjonsson(from the halfway line), lily nalis.. This list is endless.

Harsh on Joey, that. Jason Jarrett is another name to send a shiver up you.

i think the longer this boring "saga" has dragged on the more people have forgotten that we are (hopefully) about to sign f ucking cambiasso!!!

still can't believe that. seeing him in a Leicester shirt will be bloody gorgeous.

Oh, Jesus. My PTSD is coming back.

Yeah, Joey was alright. Didn't a PL club buy him off us?

Edit: Gudjonsson was loaned to Wolves and Villa 2003/04 - both PL at the time.

Debut against Stoke on 13th September. Broken leg in the first half after a crunching tackle by Shawcross which rules him out for 6 months.

Didn't Pontus Kaamark break his leg after a game or two and was out for about 9 months?.. He was a great player!!!

Memory hazy but thought that was Rob Ullathorne?

Was both, Pontus got crocked and was out for sometime in his first season here, Ullathorne did the same the very next season having just joined us in the Prem.

Joey Gudjonsson was alright, we've had much worse than him. He's just another one of those players who is judged negatively cos he played in a shit side.

Matt Oakley never gets mentioned because he was captain of the league one side but the truth remains he was gash at Championship level.

You mean Oakley who played on the right most of his city career and played an entire season struggling with injury but Nige insist on him waiting on an operation until May.

At the same I thought he was awful but when presented with more info, you learn a bit more.

So are we getting both him and McArthur then?

That would really strengthen us up in the middle of the park... Drinkwater/James will have some healthy competition!

Don't they already, considering King's and Hammond's performances so far and Drinkwater and James currently being completely untested in this division?

As I say, judging by the remarks of his agent last night, plus what has since been reported overnight, it is looking very likely that this will be happening ahead of Arsenal as was hoped earlier this week.

So, IF everything goes through as planned, what a coup for us. Ok, it won't be like watching him in his prime but wow! :D
